had a great experience at Charred Burgers. The customer service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and made the whole visit really enjoyable. You can tell they care about their customers. The portions are super generous, definitely worth it, and the burgers themselves live up to the hype. You can see why they're so highly rated. The patties are hand-formed and have that fresh, homemade taste that makes a big difference.

Charred Food is one of those underrated gems you're so glad you stumbled across. The moment you walk in, the space feels open, casual, and comfortable -- perfect for a quick lunch or an easy dinner spot. You order right at the counter when you come in, almost like a fast-food setup, but don't let that fool you... the food quality is far from fast food. My burger came out surprisingly fast, but still had that incredible smoky, char-grilled flavor that makes Charred stand out from other burger places. The fries were perfectly crispy, and the Brussels sprouts were honestly a highlight -- so flavorful and cooked just right. If you're craving a solid burger with great sides in a relaxed setting, Charred is definitely worth a stop. An underrated Herndon spot that deserves a lot more love!

Absolutely top-notch service. Seriously, incredible. I asked if they had ketchup and they brought me 8 cups of mayo, ketchup, and a special burger sauce. As for the foods I genuinely cannot remember eating a burger this good. Not even kidding. I tried like 4 of their burgers all of them being sooo good. You feel special eating here. They ask how the food is, if you need anything, etc. You WILL get taken care of here. The ambiance is also incredible, feels like your local burger place, not some fast food joint.

My order: Cowboy Brisket Burger: 6.4 oz Halal Patty, Smoked Sliced Brisket, Fried Egg, Jalapeños, Monterey Jack Cheese, Tomato and Lettuce with Charred Special Sauce and BBQ Sauce. Add on: Bacon Note: A Halal Beef Bacon option is available My Review: This burger was absolutely epic. The brisket was melt in your mouth moist, and the patty was cooked to a perfect medium well. The Cajun seasoning on the fries hit just right, neither overpowering nor underdone, just perfectly balanced. And the portion size? Actually generous, which is rare in Northern VA, where you typically get mediocre food in tiny portions at inflated prices. I can't recommend Charred enough. The service was excellent, the food came out fast, and the whole vibe was fun and inviting, with great lighting and an authentic BBQ atmosphere--every single bite delivered. Excellently priced Generous portions that actually satisfy Friendly, attentive staff Locally sourced ingredients Spotlessly clean Top-tier flavor If you're tired of overpriced disappointment, do yourself a favor and hit up Charred!!!.

I went back to Charred foods craving a tasty burger while near Worldgate. Anything wood-fired tastes better imo and I also really appreciate that they use high quality ingredients here. Its been a few years since my last visit. Still super good burger, filling and flavorful The place was totally empty and so I luckily got immediate, speedy service and watched my burger being made freshly made right there. The charred brussel sprouts on the menu were calling my name so I also got those but then vaguely remembered I had ordered the same thing last time! They are good if you eat immediately so that they are crispy but can get quite soggy quickly due to the sauce/grease so I could have done with out but the burger was perfect.

I decided to get a Charged Burger, Cajun Fries and a Chocolate Milkshake. The food looked delicious and tasted even better.

Great burgers and fries! Hand crafted burgers cooked over a wood fired grill. Artisan bread, fresh veggies, and a smoky sweet special sauce that could make a roof shingle taste good. simple walk up counter service, and clean minimalist decor. Between the juicy burger and the sauce, it's messy in the best possible way, so grab lots of napkins.

    Grilled Chicken Sandwich

I ordered Charred for delivery because I was in the mood for a non-fast food grilled chicken sandwich and the sound of theirs grabbed my eye. The sandwich was fresh and comprised of 2 large charred breasts + homemade pickles but was unexpectedly slathered in a sauce that was not mentioned in the sandwich description. I also ordered brussel sprouts and those things were deep fried to death! I honestly think they were from the prior day and refried, so, I tossed them because they were sooooo oily. The charred corn salad while fresh and tasty was missing the cheese and tortilla strips as described on the menu as well. Probably won't order from here again but may give visiting in person a try.

Good burgers and large portions. Friendly service and normal burger furnishing one would expect from a neighborhood burger joint.

    Cheeseburger

great food, burger is cooked over a wood fire grill, milkshake is super yummy - chocolate and/or vanilla! i would recommend sharing fries if going with more than one person, and do try their sauce with the fries too. i would recommend improving the burger patty to bun ratio, every time i had eaten here the burger has not been wide enough to ensure every bite to the end is yummy. BUT i will absolutely come back again to eat here in the future.

This is a pretty decent burger joint in World Gate. The setup, the bar seats, and the fancy lights take more than a normal amount of effort. I'm surprised there aren't more people hanging out here because the burger is good! I believe the patties are wood-grilled so you get that unique touch of flavor in your meat. I've also noticed that they source their ingredients locally. The sauces are homegrown as well. You place the order at the front and the staff delivers it to you when ready. It takes a good amount of time like a good, fresh burger should. My usual go-to is the obvious "Charr" burger. LOL It's so good! One thing I can only complain about is the price of the sides and drinks. I pay $10 ish for the burger itself. If you add fries and a drink, it gets close to $20 something. I wish there was a combo option for a more reasonable price. I usually grab a Charr burger and a ShareTea next door for the same price. That's a better deal to me. Another thing I can nitpick is that the place isn't lively if you know what I mean. Long story short, I'd still pick Charred over any other burger joints in the Herndon/Reston area. I'm going to Red Robins in Chantilly if I'm into a combo deal with a double-calorie count.

Fresh and warm, they had a crispy crust and a soft interior. They resembled mini ciabattas and were scrumptious with the butter. The salmon en croute blew me away! Upon our arrival, we were seated near a window overlooking the sidewalk where we were able to watch people passing by while enjoying our candlelit meal. 10 out of 10 for atmosphere at this charming and cozy table. The service was prompt and attentive. We started by enjoying a few of the craft cocktails, which were simply wonderful and the product of a talented and adept bartending. If your idea of a good cocktail involves slush or machines, this is probably not the place for you. I enjoyed a dirty martini, as did my youngest daughter. My oldest daughter enjoyed a French 75. All lovely and all perfectly mixed. I would return here if nothing more than the cocktails! For starters, my daughter shared the Pate De Campagne, which consisted of country style pâté, cornichons and toast points. They loved it! My wife enjoyed the Salad Verte and I loved the Roquefort Salad. Both salads were simply marvelous and went well with the freshly baked bread. On to the main event! Fo her entree, my youngest daughter had the Roasted Cornish Hen. She had never had Cornish hen before, but this particular rendition made her a fan of the dish. Perfectly cooked, juicy and savory. My older daughter enjoyed the Salmon en Croute. The salmon was perfectly cooked to the correct temp and the pastry was spot on. A lovely dish and one I will try on our next visit. My wife and I each devoured the Chicken Paillard. This is one of those dishes that is so simple, but the lemon butter knocks your socks off. If it wasn't such a lovely restaurant, I might have licked my plate. Yes....it was that good. I ate every last caper! For dessert, we shared a portion of the luxurious pistachio cheesecake. An excellent ending to an amazing meal. This charming restaurant is a jewel in the heart of Herndon. I highly recommend it for your next special occasion. We look forward to returning soon!

It can be a bit overwhelming looking at the wall mounted menu at first, but give yourself a few minutes and you'll be pleasantly surprised. First of all, I really like that they show you how many calories each item is (I'm not sure if that includes salad dressing/sauces though). Second, I like that you can fully customize your salad and add standard things like portobello mushrooms and blue cheese. I also noticed that they serve a wide variety of other items which include bulgolgi and lo mein (My coworker who went there before me informed me that he wasn't able to get the bulgolgi on his salad despite what the menu said). Third they have a really sweet selection of chips and that means a lot to me for some reason. Anyhow, I ordered the East Coast Vegetarian Wrap. It cost about six bucks and was filled with a nice vinaigrette, avocados, tomatoes, lots of lettuce and some kind of cheese. It was a solid wrap, but next time I'll probably opt for a salad that I can build myself. Last, I just want to say how friendly their staff was. Seriously, the seemed to know everyone who came in by name and what they usually ordered. The lady behind the counter who saw me taking a picture of their menu smiled and ran around the counter to hand me one of theirs. Can't wait to go back and try some more stuff!

Very tasty and too easy to drink fast lol Apps: We got the baked shrimp and the beef carpaccio. Both outstanding and so flavorful. Just needed some bread to soak up the sauce in the baked shrimp. The lemon rind in the shrimp was a perfect compliment to the sauce and the carpaccio was perfectly seasoned and the thinnest slices I have ever had which made it delicate and delicious. Entrees: We got the sea bass and the short rib bolognese. Blown away by how good both of these were and so very different. The short rib bolognese had a rich but not heavy flavor with fresh pasta and a delightful velvety spiciness - not heat though. The sea bass was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked with a carrot ginger puree that was sublime with the spinach and fish. We loved both of these entrees. Really wanted dessert but sadly not more room which was better for our stomachs and our wallets. It's not a cheap endeavor here but worth the cost for a fabulous meal out and a very cool vibe.
