Great American Restaurants...what can you say? Always good service and food, right? Ozzie's is one of the GAR restaurants we just haven't really been to although its been around for years now....so we made a conscious effort to go this time when craving Italian. There are many of your GAR favorites but they also offer numerous Italian dishes. We went with the Arancini, Tagliatelle with Meatballs, Lobster & Shrimp Diavolo, and the Chicken Parm. In general, the dishes were all tasty...only complaints were that the pasta is way overcooked and mushy with sauce. Not al dente by any stretch. Made it a bit disappointing. Service was a bit slow in the bar area and the waitress kept forgetting our requests. If you forget and we have to ask you again don't be salty about it... Will probably save our Italian cravings for other Italian restaurants. Not a horrible experience..just not up to the usual GAR standards. 3.5 stars... read more

Ozzie's continues to be one of our go-to spots whenever we're craving pasta and salad. I ordered the Mango Martini, Linguini & Shrimp Fra Diavolo, and the Hot Spinach, Parmesan & Artichoke Dip. Everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The Fra Diavolo had a nice kick to it, the dip was warm, creamy, and perfect for sharing, and the Mango Martini was a refreshing complement to the meal. As always, the service was excellent, our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. It's not just marinara with a kick- it's seasoned heavily and tastes bad- like a weird Cajun spice is the only way I can describe it. I honestly had a hard time finishing the pasta. The shrimp is a touch overcooked which is insane, because GAR cooks salmon and steak and everything else to perfection. The only bonus was the shrimp was ginormous and came with 7 (for $28 it better). This place remains one of my favorite restaurants and one of my favorite GAR. Great experience as always at Ozzie's!! We ordered the cheeseburger and margarita pizza. The cheeseburger was very good and cooked to order. The only issues were that the cheese wasn't fully melted and the lettuce was below the burger making it soggy. Great taste overall though. The fries were skinny fries and were delicious. This part of the meal was a 8/10. The price went up and it was almost $20.... The margarita pizza was filling and delicious. Melted fresh mozzarella over a bed of marinara sauce. 10/10 with a good price. The service was great, but we had to pay for EACH basket of Ozzie rolls including the first one. I had never been here before and was really expecting a noisy cafeteria type of place, not the leather like booths with lovely lighting. They seated the three of us right next to a group of diners that was a little loud instead of staggering the seating. There was plenty of tables that they never utilized. Without being crowded we felt a little cramped. The menu has a nice variety. The server was very pleasant during our lunch service even though we occupied the booth for over three hours - it was a girl's lunch and we had a lot of catching up to do! The food was delicious. It was a nice combination of flavors but the lobster bisque was somewhat bland. We are regulars at Ozzie's and I have to say the quality of the food and service have severely declined while prices rise. Our service today was awful, we were never checked on again for water, how we liked the food, more bread etc. the goat cheese salad was pitiful there was maybe 3 pecans in it. We ordered a substitution for the jambalaya pasta and asked to sub shrimp instead of chicken and sausage of course it was messed up. They then remade it and the pasta was not cooked and was hard. They then up charged the pasta for the shrimp which is despicable when you're not getting the chicken and sausage and only 3 shrimp were in it and they messed up twice. read more

The Great American Restaurant group often has similar dishes at their various restaurants. I ate at Ozzie's today and there were many of the GAR regular dishes on the menu. Ozzie does have a few pasta dishes that are unique to Ozzie's. The crazy lasagna is one of them. A blend of cheeses, tagliatelle pasta, bolognese and a meatball makes this entree a delicious meal. It's served in a small cast iron skillet. The dish is a nice change from the normal GAR offerings. read more

While in town for work, some colleagues and myself were looking for a place that served some really good prime rib. Not your typical prime rib served at some known chain steakhouse, but one that would knock your socks off. Someone had mentioned that Ozzie's was just what we needed. So I called up the gang, loaded in the car, and headed that way. We arrived and started looking for a parking spot. It being a Friday night and crowded, it took a minute, but we found a spot. With our party of 8, I was expecting at least an hour wait. We walked in, and to our surprise, we were seated right away. So far, this is looking like it was going to be a good night. I was digging the whole fancy restaurant vibe, with the laid back attitude this place had going on. Once seated, we were all promptly greeted, and our drink order was taken. The young man taking our order had a huge hickey on his neck, so hopefully our night would be as good as his. I only had one thing in mind to order that I wanted, but I humored myself and perused the menu anyway. There were a lot of good looking dishes on the menu, and was tempted for a minute to stray from what I came for. Luckily, that was a short lived thought, and my eyes landed on the prime rib. I was a little surprised by the price because it was notably higher than a lot of other places. For the price, it better be good. It was twice the price of the one I order from another popular unnamed steakhouse. Our drinks arrived in good time and we all ordered. Mostly all of my friends at the table ordered the sixteen ounce rib. Some ordered regular and some ordered seared. I ordered my prime rib non-seared and medium rare with a baked potato, and a Caesar salad. I ordered the community bread basket to munch on while I wait. The bread basket arrived after a small wait. Little donut hole sized bits of bread, and a butter with some sort of herb in it in the basket. The bread has some sort of sweet sugar or something on the outside, and the bread was sort of thick. I cut into one, added some butter, and was pleasantly surprised. These were delicious. It was weird how it gave off donut hole sweetness, but tasted like bread at the end. We ate the entire basket, and got another. Bonus points for the price, as one basket is only $1. Shortly thereafter, the Caesar salad arrived. Well presented, was very good, and had a weird little spicy kick to it. Interesting.. Very good. Now, time for the main star of the night to enter the chat. The prime rib has arrived. The presentation was fabulous, but I could not wait any longer. I pushed the remnants of the bread and salad out of the way and went straight to work. Oh. My. Gosh. This was melt-in-your-mouth-like-butter goodness. Every bite was absolutely amazing. Perfectly seasoned, so tender, and so very juicy. The creamy au jus sauce under the steak was very savory and paired perfect. Out of the dozens of prime ribs I have ate in my life, this one goes in the top three of my best ever. This was like a date you never want to end. I ate every bite, and wanted more. Oh how I wished I lived here and could come back. After devouring the steak, I almost forgot about the baked potato. It was your typical potato, but very delicious. It soon disappeared too. Now I am left heart broken. I am not sure when my travels will bring me back here, if ever. If I do come back, you had better bet I will be back. I highly recommend Ozzie's, and definitely and unequivocally recommend the prime rib. If you are ever in the area, give it a try. First of all, the decor here during the holidays is super cozy and gorgeous! I could not stop looking around and feeling the holiday spirit. To start, we had the Ozzie Rolls, which were so warm and fresh. The Jambalaya Pasta is definitely one of my favorites! The flavors are great, and I loved that it had a good portion of all chicken, shrimp, and sausage. I will admit the chicken was a bit dry, but there was enough sauce to cover it while eating. Rack of Ribs with Mashed Potatoes and Fries (5/5) Ribs were grilled with char and Ozzie's served us a generous portion. The rib sauce was also perfectly balanced, mix between salty, sour, sweet and whisper of spices. The fries were crispy, hot, and fresh! Loved this and would order again. Dessert: White Chocolate Bread Pudding (5/5) Rich, warm, and indulgent, with maybe some raspberry coulis (?). Lovely contrast of the warm bread pudding and cold ice cream. I'm normally a fan of GAR, but this one was a miss the other night. It was a busy Saturday night and our server was great considering how many people were there. I ordered a caesar salad with fried chicken, something I've done before, and was kind of confused when I got my order, but with olives? There weren't that many and I picked them out, I even went back to the menu to make sure I didn't miss out on that ingredient in their caesar but it wasn't there. I'm not sure what happened with that, but it sure was an outlier experience I've had with GAR. read more

I've been here a few times and most recently stopped by for lunch with my kids. We got a booth and I enjoyed the variety of options on the menu. Our server was young, probably in high school, but overall was very friendly. I was surprised they didn't have crayons or coloring pages as this place screamed family spot especially being out in the burbs of Virginia. Oh well, our serveer gave us a few pens and paper for my kids to draw on. It worked! I did like the reasonable prices for the kids menu. I got my daughter spaghetti and meatballs, which were super tasty, and just $6. My son went for the cheese pizza, also $6, and a fairly large portion. I ended up going for one of the salads with chicken, $20, and enough food for dinner the next night. We also ordered the house bread, which tasted more like donuts. I will say that it's always annoying when restaurants add on additional fees, including this "bread charge." It was only $1, but still, it would have been nice to know as our server asked if we'd like to have some bread and didn't disclose it was with an additional fee. It feels cheap. Really, $1? In the end, we'll come back. But I do feel like there are a few kinks they could work out to make this a higher-rated experience. My advice is ditch the $1 bread upcharge. read more

We frequent the Great American Restaurant chains often but this was the worse. The experience was an undercooked chicken parm that had pink juices running out. They replaced the chicken parm but with only an apology from the waitress. We watched manager Shelly give us a look and not once check on us. We would think the taboo of undercooked chicken would warrant a follow up or removed from the bill. Also their Ozzie rolls were the toughest chew at this location compared to other chains. Wild since it is called Ozzie's? Being fans of the chain, we left without a word and just utterly disappointed. (It was our anniversary and were excited to try this spot for the first time.). Today I visited Ozzie's and unfortunately experienced what I felt was discriminatory treatment. I am a 33-year-old Hispanic woman, and during my visit, both the manager and general manager questioned the validity of my Real ID. Despite presenting a valid, government-issued identification card, I was told that the ID did not belong to me and was accused of being someone else. This experience was both embarrassing and upsetting. What made the situation even more concerning is that I have been a loyal customer of Ozzie's for years and have never encountered this issue before. My identification has been accepted at this establishment in the past without question. Given the current climate surrounding immigration enforcement and heightened attention on Hispanic communities, I could not help but feel that my ethnicity may have influenced how I was treated. While I cannot know the intent behind the decision, the experience left me feeling singled out, humiliated, and unwelcome. read more

What a great experience we had at Ozzie's last night! We were greeted at the hostess stand by Bre, who was very friendly and welcoming. We had to wait a few minutes so we were looking at the menu and asked Bre her opinions regarding the bread basket. She recommended the Ozzie rolls. Once we were seated in a spacious booth, our server Abbey, who was very attentive, greeted us and took our order. The Ozzie rolls were amazing! Warm and served with a delicious honey butter. I was able to get the sausage crusted tuna without sesame. But that made it a bit bland. The tuna itself was cooked to perfection. Tender. Melt in your mouth. My only other gripe is the salad dressing was listed as a vinaigrette so there was no reason for me to think it had sesame in it. But it did. So we might not have been weird either.
