Their truck was at Blend coffeehouse this morning and my friend got two of their waffles on a stick for $6 and I took just a small bite of each (too hot for me today and I had breakfast already). We tried the Cinnamon waffle with apple topping and whipped cream, and the Red velvet with cream cheese frosting and whipped cream. Of the two, I liked the red velvet best. It tasted like a soft cake. I could not taste the apple on the other. Neither waffle had that nice outside crunch, if you're into a waffle with a slight crunch on the outside, soft center. I love this food truck but I'm only giving three stars because 1, they don't consistently show up where they say they're scheduled to be and if there are changes on their location, they don't update their website, Facebook, twitter, instagram - nothing. I have driven to their usual locations only to find that they aren't there. 2, they have charged incorrectly and given the wrong amount of change on several occasions so be careful with what they're charging you and then check your change. Other than that, I like their waffles and it's a good light breakfast for me. I'm not fond of their chocolate or red velvet waffles because they taste doughy and undercooked. The classic Belgian is the best since it provides a neutral palette for toppings and stuffings. I will continue to go, granted they are where they say they'll be. read more

One of the best food trucks you can go to and get some of the best waffles ever. They have so many different flavors and toppings its almost cheating. Theyre a super nice and friendly father and son business. Theyre not at the same location every single week and rotate locations, but nonetheless its worth keeping up with them. Just looking at the pictures makes me wanna skip the gym and eat some waffles. Theyre not too expensive compared to other dessert places and sometimes they even cater at George Mason University. I am hoping to come back again to try more flavors and toppings! The people that work there are incredibly nice! The waffles are just ok at best and I feel they are expensive for what you get. I spent $6, and I ordered one plain (so I could see what the actually waffle would taste like) and the other with maple syrup... it's not even real maple syrup, just high fructose corn syrup flavored goop. The other sauces are no different. Not of quality and everything just tastes boring and sugary. I really wanted to like this food truck because I love small businesses and fun ideas, I LOVE Blend coffee (which is where I tried them) but it was a miss. I think increasing the quality of their ingredients would help, and using things like real butter and real maple syrup would be step 1. read more

We booked Golly Waffles for my daughters graduation party. Leading up to the event the communication with Stephen and his staff was regular and informative. On the day of the event the truck showed up on time, Stephen and Gabriel did their set up and were ready to serve just when they said they would be. Everyone was so eager as they watched these two artists get ready to serve these amazing deserts. I had heard rumors about this new Waffle truck - maybe it was through reading Cat P's detailed review - but I was excited to see them set up at the Wellness Connection Farmer's Market a couple weeks ago. One of my favorite all time snacks is a true Belgian waffle. Crispy on the outside, soft and the slightest bit chewy on the inside with just the right amount of sweetness. Although these are not quite the Belgian waffle I crave every time I visit Brussels, they are delicious and will satisfy my craving until I have the opportunity to return. How can you possibly go wrong with a waffle on a stick? They offer three flavors - Belgian, red velvet and cinnamon bun with a wide variety of toppings and sauces to include savory choices. I believe they also make stuffed waffles - yum! My husband decided to try the cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing. I stayed true to my craving for the classic Belgian with just a bit of powdered sugar. The waffles are baked fresh so there is a bit of a wait when it's crowded. Not a problem for me, but we were offered a complimentary iced coffee due to our wait - very nice gesture on this hot summer day! The Belgian waffle was really good - crispy on the outside, nice and soft inside, not quite as sweet as that Brussels favorite, but quite delicious with the powdered sugar sprinkled on top. My husband's cinnamon bun waffle was really good as well drizzled with the icing, but I preferred the more traditional flavor of the classic. They showed up on time, set up very quickly and were even kind enough to leave some waffle pops behind for anyone who didn't make it to the breakfast. The owner is very accommodating and will do a private order of waffles. I get enough to last me a week and they do well in the fridge.
