Stopped by to try the Maiko Special. The matcha soft serve itself was good, but the overall dessert felt a little unbalanced. The cake was on the dry side, and most of the toppings settled at the bottom of the cup, while the ice cream stayed on top. It made it difficult to get a bit of everything in each bite. One thing I did really enjoy was the waffle cone! It was fresh, crisp, and a great complement to the soft serve. If you're specifically looking for the best matcha soft serve, I'd personally still choose Bon Tea. I found their matcha flavor to be richer and more pronounced. The staff had a bad attitude when I asked if we the ice cream on top of the float or maiko was dairy free because I didn't see it and were like idk. I felt rushed. FOR THOSE CONSIDERING DRIVING A WAYS FOR THE BANANA MATCHA, it's good but only truly worth it if you're in the area, maybe. It's mainly whipped cream with the bananas and vanilla wafers. So far, my most favorite dessert there was the ube and matcha swirl. The crepe cake was good but I think I'd still opt for the regular Matcha Maiko drink or the ice cream swirls that are on the menu since those are pretty good. The drink itself was okay, I've come to learn that matcha just isn't my thing. I've tried to give it a chance, but it's a no for me. I went to the Tyson's location first a few months ago and now I'm actually at a physical store to try this place out too. Like the other location, this place specializes in Matcha. Matcha drinks, desserts, ice cream, sweets... you name it. Open entering, there are open tables on the side next to the counter where you order, a nice cute sofa section with some spots to sit at the window, and a wall of wooden tags with lots of things written on each and every one of them. There's more tables in the back for additional seating but I didn't venture that far to sit down. I decided to stop by and try something much more than the Matcha Ice Cream cone I got at the other location. So I went with the Maiko Special. It's a nice parfait with interesting toppings. Matcha and Vanilla ice cream mixed along with Matcha Chiffron, Chestnuts, and Shiratama Mochi! Overall, the ice cream mix was very satisfying, like a perfect blend of not too sweet but just right enough. The shiratama mochi was chewy but it didn't have much flavor. It's interesting texture wise but I paired it with ice cream and it was alot edible to eat. The matcha chiffron? It's a pretty good sponge cake and that when paired with everything else added an extra layer of sweet to it that the cake needed. I thought this was amazing, and I'll probably get it again. It was sweet and mild and I loved it! The vanilla tasted pretty plain and I wished I had ordered ube only. The cone ended up being a bit too much for me to eat so I didn't finish the whole thing.
