This location is better than the other locations I've been to in the area. It seems to be more spacious and clean! I like how they have more options for their desserts. I tried their banana and lychee heart mousse. I love how they use real fruit and the chocolate shell is tasty! They were sold out of some of the other desserts I wanted to try like the mango one. I think the banana latte was too sweet and the coconut coffee frap wasn't sweet enough. We all really enjoyed the matcha green tea bingsoo tho! The ice cream was so creamy and flavorful and I loved all the red bean and mochi pieces inside. The servers were nice and explained the difference between the bingsoo sizes and flavors! read more

I've been to many Shilla Bakeries in the area, so I was happy to see this newest location open recently along busy Rt. 123 (aka Maple Ave) in the heart of Vienna. I had to stop in to get a cake for a relative's birthday who lives in the Tyson's area, so this was super convenient. I'm at the Jades Shopping Center 1-2 times a month to dine at the always excellent Sushi Yama (https://www.yelp.com/biz/sushi-yama-vienna-3?osq=sushi+yama), so I'm very familiar with the area. The parking lot has always been on the small-ish side, but now that Shilla is here, it's actually kind of tricky to find parking. Walking in, I REALLY like the layout of this location. The typical variety of Asian pastries can be found along the right side of room. Pick up a tray and select from the array of various buns, loaves of breads, and savory items. This Shilla is interesting, since there is also a "heated" display case where various sandwiches and pizzas are kept warm. What also makes this location different, is the amount of seating and modern decor. There is a faux tree in the center of the room, with comfy red themed couch seating. The plentiful white colored tables/chairs are also perfect for lingering over coffee and baked goods. Because all of the baked goods/pastries are produced off site, the quality from one location to the next is very consistent...and usually pretty good. My friend's kid is always a fan of the panda shaped chocolate cake; but wasit worth $45? Uhhh...I wouldn't have paid that, but it fed 10 people, so I guess it was worth it. read more

Very nice location of a Shilla Bakery. It's so cute inside with a tree in the middle of the floor. Lots of seating although there isn't a big group table but you can sit close to each other. Lots of different pastries and cakes that you can try. I think it's a Korean style bakery so the food is good but leans towards that sweet side for what you might consider savory pastry. read more

For years I used to go to the Annandale location. I'm so happy to see one here near me in Vienna. Definitely less choices than in Annandale but that is fine. The store is clean and the service is fast. I orders a few items for to go. Their special Fall drink Apple Cider is yummy. The devoured the Japanese cake when I got home. The tofu chips were great with my wine. Overall, everything is good. read more

The went to Shilla Bakery & Cafe in Vienna to try the viral Chewy Dubai Chocolate cookie. I love Dubai Chocolate, and the cookie was good but it didn't blow me away. It was dry inside and really needed more pistachio cream. This was my first visit, and I was surprised at how sparse it was inside. There weren't many items on the shelves but I got there early, so they may have been in the process of bringing baked goods out. The young lady at the counter was very nice. read more

Just ordered stuff from the bar/coffee area and didn't get any desserts but the stuff was incredible. Hawaiian shaved have was super refreshing during this heat wave and the strawberry matcha wasn't overpowering strawberry! We came middle of the day on a Tuesday and had people in here but not too busy at all! Had a great experience. read more

While the service was really good when I went (she was by herself doing everything), the drinks and food are okay. Curry pan was not good (I am used to Japanese curry pan). I barely tasted curry and inside was mostly big chopped veggies. Vanilla butter cream cake was dry and the cream got too heavy half way thru. Drinks were meh (banana latte and tiramisu latte). White Anko pan was the decent of all. I will not go back since the price was kind of high as well. I think Paris Baguette is much better. read more

Really been enjoying the coffee and baked goods here when I am in the neighborhood. I've mostly stuck to the seasonal options, most recently the cinnamon bun latte which is delicious. I have also tried various sweets as well as the croissant. The croissant was just ok but all of the donut or roll type items I've had were really good. Whenever we eat lunch nearby, we always have to remember to save room for dessert at Shilla. And, in addition to choosing a green tea ice cream with frosted flakes or something to eat while we are there, we always end up with a wire basket, passing by the displays and putting much more than we originally intended inside. So, we were very happy to see that an even closer location of Shilla has opened in Vienna. This one is open and airy and has good seating. As always, the cakes are adorable and the treats are yummy. We think their coconut macaroons are the best around. Other favorites are the Nutella donuts, castellas and just about anything else. The counter service was very friendly and I appreciated his patient smile as I babbled on about how happy I was to have them be there and how I couldn't find the mango roll cake even though it was in an obvious cooler case with a great variety of other flavors. Shilla will always be a family favorite. There is a nice lot right out front of this convenient central Vienna location. read more

Had some high expectations of this place after seeing that there was going to be a korean bakery so close to home but it's a total disappointment! Got the soboro, kwabaegi (twisted donut), and roll cake. They were all very mid! Soboro was so dense throughout, donut was so doughy and roll cake completely broke apart once i took the plastic wrapper off. If you've tried other korean bakery before, you will see what i mean... oh well. read more

Cute new bakery! We got the almond croissant, breakfast croissant with sausage egg and cheese, egg tart, spinach and cheese danish, and croquette, iced coffee, and a matcha latte. Almond croissant was the best. Not sure I liked the matcha latte flavor but the iced coffee was great. Cute and clean. Would come back to meet girlfriends here for a drink. They also have shaved ice, soft serve vanilla ice cream, and lots of choices for birthday cakes. read more

The bakery had a soft launch today. We tried the chicken panini, pana cotta, and some of the baked products. All delish! There are several items on the menu (marked in red) that are unavailable at the moment but expect the full menu to be operational in the coming days. The owner was very polite and the service good. 10/10 so good!! Shilla Bakery is dangerously good. The mango mousse is perfect, the tofu chips are addicting, and the tuna melt? Straight-up comfort in a sandwich. Shilla Bakery baked a beautiful, delicious mango sheet cake for my sister's 60th birthday. The party theme was "Hawaiian Luau". Shilla nailed the luau theme with beautiful Hawaiian flowers and greenery. The cake was light and airy with fresh chunks of mango in the frosting between each sheet. I would highly recommend Shilla Bakery for your special occasion cake. read more

To spend $50 on breakfast with tip included - for two people - I would've expected just a little bit more than a meal that tasted more like something you would get as a continental breakfast at a hotel then what you'd expect in a café that bakes their own bread. i ordered the strawberry matcha latte (it was almost $9) after tax. I had high hopes and on the picture up front outside the store - it looked promising. It took a long time for the barista to make. The barista was very kind and overall service was great. However, the drinks definitely need much more work. The drink tasted chalky and more like some other kind of tea instead of matcha (?) and I don't think the strawberry puree that was used tasted great either. It was mainly milk. Aside from that, ambience itself and service here is good. I do just think that some of the drink prices are too overpriced read more

I believe this location was recently opened, I have gone to other Shilla Bakery locations and have always been impressed. It was clean, they had samples out. But the breakfast sandwiches were premade - not a problem but the cheese and muffin was burnt - it was already cold and I had to ask for it be warmed up and had some sweet syrup at the top. So happy they have a decent about of savory options and not just sweets. I was excited to see a curry chicken croquette. At home, the first few bites didn't have much flavor and I was disappointed. That's when I realized there wasn't much filling. I finally did get a few bites with more filling and was initially happy until the overwhelming bitterness of the filling hit me. I realized I was happier with less filling! It's the only thing I tried. I will probably go back and try something else but if it has a similarly unpleasant taste as the chicken curry and little filling then I'm done. But for now happy there were some savory options. Just went in to the new Shilla Bakery in Vienna. I was greeted with a sample of their red bean bread. I honestly did not have high hopes for something called 'red bean bread'. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised by this sweet treat. So I bought one to take home! Excellent customer service. Friendly staff. Will be going back soon to try one of their matcha lattes next time. Maybe I'll stay and drink in it at one of their cute tables. read more
