    Choclate cake. Not good
    Neli R.

I would not recommend the pastries here nor the cake. Honestly, their cake and pastries taste a couple of days old, and the pastries are soggy and old. My niece ordered a chocolate cake on the 4th of July for my birthday. She said she tried to place an order online the day before and the day of, but she could not. So she just called in to see if they had made extras that day. They did, so we went to pick it up. My niece ordered the chocolate cake, which was hard from the outside, dry from the bread, and it didn't have much flavor. Their cake is a little bland and old for my taste. I tried to give them another chance by going back on July 12th. I ordered several pastries. One was a carrot cake and the cream puff. I would not recommend either. The cream puff was soggy and, again, taste like it was a few days ago. I can't even describe what the carrot cake tastes like. It was not good. I did try their mango cake, and that was edible. I don't think I will be back.

Nice desserts in a cute cafe! My favorite cake was the mango - it was light and had a good mango flavor. Tiramisu was also really tasty - moist with a delightful coffee flavor. The carrot cake was a bit dense and the icing was hard, but still tasted yummy. The fruit cake was good, but on the drier side. I liked the flavor, though. The presentation for the cake slices could be better, but it's not bad. I recommend this cafe for certain pastries and desserts! Will definitely be back to try more.

Decent bakery. Overall all the pastries were good but pretty small like 2x3 maybe. For me to be like 'omg this place has the best pastries ever' it has to have something outstanding. The pastries just didn't have the wow factor for me.

Pastries galore!! These 8 pastries weighed about a pound ($17/pound). Skip the heavy-weight Napoleon and get more cream puffs - next time!

Delicious light and fluffy pastries. My bestie gifted me with a delivery of the 10 piece cake sampler which was a perfect assortment of vanilla, chocolate, and fruity pastries. Great for my parents who enjoy fruit pastries while my hubby is a chocolate feign and I'm up for anything! You can't really go wrong here. The pastries are small and easy to conquer. Between the 4 us, we devoured the box. Perfect for sharing! The Fruit Tart is quite large and delicious as well! The Carrot Cake, Tiramisu, Raspberry, Strawberry Shortcake, and Oreo pastries were my favorites - pretty much 1/2 the box! The cake is pretty light and moist without the density or grease. Enjoyed the pastries so much that I came back for more and visited the shop. The bakery is tucked in the corner of a small shopping center next to Pita Pit. It's quite cozy inside and fills up quickly. While there are small tables inside, there's not much space for seating. There's a galore of pastries to choose from petite cake slices to shortbread cookies and Persian pastries. It was a bit overwhelming. You pay by weight at $17/pound and can get about 6-10 pastries for a pound. I scored 5 petite cake slices, a couple of cream puffs, and the Napoleon which collectively weighed about a pound. Next time I would opt for more of the airy light-weight cream puffs and skip the heavy-weight Napoleon! It was a bit too dense. Glad to support this small family-owned business and there's another location in Gaithersburg as well! Will be back for more!

Just stop by to get a cup of coffee. The place has potential, they offer some pastries, they looked very nice, but I haven't had any. Didn't like coffee, watery. We asked for cups and they were dusty, nobody cared to rinse them off.

I came here this morning during a quick work break because I had yet to have my coffee for the day. I've grown somewhat tired of the same old regular office coffee, and this place is close enough. I was down for the latte macchiato, and I also got me a sea salt rice Krispy treat. It took the nice person behind the counter less than thirty seconds to whip-up this latte, which kind of made sense especially considering that I was the only customer in the store. I would definitely characterize this place as a bakery rather than a cafe, and they have several displays of cakes and baked goods. The e bakery is clean and nice, but nothing like a real cafe where you would commonly see people working or hanging out with friends. The latte and prepared rice Krispy treat were delicious.

0/10 horrible just horrible the strawberry cake we bought was horrible. The strawberry was too spicy and the cake had no flavor. Just felt like dough and vanilla. This is absolutely horrible. I dont know why they got this was a good idea to sell this. It's absolute scam. Also another thing called classic bakery, more like classic tragedy don't ever buy the strawberry cakes or anything from here again and another thing somebody said this was good it is not good- Caleb Definitely gave diet cake No it's nasty another thing I wish I could put zero stars. This place sucks never eat from here again go to cheesecake factory or something

WOWOWOWOOWWOWOW! I am so happy we chose to go here for my birthday cake! I knew about Classic Bakery because its across the street from my office and so I am familiar with the treats. When we saw they do custom cakes it was an easy sell! The prices were standard as they are doing a custom cake for you so don't be surprised when you have to spend a nice dime. The options were endless. They are quick to respond via email as well so if you have questions don't hesitate to reach out to them. We decided on a cake that was decorated with flowers all over it and the cake was red velvet. We even got to customize the color of the flowers. The red velvet was the best that I have ever had! It was MOIST and super flavorful and the cream cheese was amazing. I would 100% go back! No regrets!

I am not a fan. I spent some $31 for their packaged variety pack of sweets and slices of cakes and roulettes. And I didn't like any of the stuff. This place isn't cheap but doesn't taste great is a problem for me. It may not be my kind of treats, I don't know. I simply won't be recommending this place for its amazing desserts. I also didn't like the weird attitude from the cashiers.

    Nadine A.

I stopped by yesterday to pick up some treats and the place was fully stocked, tidy, and busy! They do weight based pricing, so for example the small cake pieces are $17/lb. There are 4 different box sizes to choose from, I chose box size 3 and once filled up it cost $32. You can see how much I got in the photo. The place has a nice variety of cakes and cookies, as well as middle eastern desserts, so you can try a bit of everything. Overall I found it a bit pricy as the desserts are not super fancy, but I enjoyed everything.

I found the service here prompt and pleasant., so I guess they took some Yelp reviews to heart. I had a large cappuccino which was about 1/2 foam. (It was also too bitter for me - but I'm a coffee wimp.) We tried 6 different items. The pastries and coffee set us back about $13 We tried 3 of their cake squares: hazelnut chocolate cake), tiramisu (yellow cake), and coconut (yellow cake). None of these were overly sweet (positive) but none had spectacular flavor(negative). The tiramisu was almost tasteless. We didn't finish any of them. The mini eclair was delicious and we would definitely order again. The mini palmier was also outstanding, crispy and sweet. Finally, we tried an almond roll (cookie). It was ground nuts with dough and honey. I expected to like this the best, bit it wasn't especially flavorful. I liked the fact that the pastries were sold by weight and not piece. Just not sure the calories would be worth the trip.

I love the Gaithersburg location of the Classic Bakery a lot. I've always had a wonderful experience with ordering their cakes there. It saddens me that this location did not live up to those standards. I will say though that the store itself was very clean and the employees were friendly. I ordered the matcha green tea latte and a variety of pastries - mini oreo cake, fruit cake, and baklava. The matcha latte lacked that strong matcha green tea flavor. It seemed watered down. Other than the baklava, the pastries were just okay. I will likely just stick to getting their full sized cakes when I'm in the Maryland area. Their signature fruit cake, chocolate truffle cake, and mocha cakes are really good!

There's some parking available right outside, and despite living in McLean for several years, I hadn't realized there's actually a food hall in the building. That alone makes it a decent option for teleworking or a casual stop. As for the food--it reminded me quite a bit of Paris Baguette. Cakes seemed slightly more expensive, while pastries were more in line price-wise. I tried a jalapeño cheese croissant, a garlic butter bun, spinach egg bites, and a tiramisu iced coffee. The croissant was just okay, but the garlic butter bun stood out--nicely balanced between salty and sweet, and definitely the highlight. The egg bites were comparable to Starbucks; honestly, it's hard to say which is better, but Starbucks might have the edge in both portion size and price. The tiramisu iced coffee leaned too sweet--my partner especially felt it was a bit overdone. Ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Would I come back? Probably to try the cakes. Otherwise, it's not a place I'd rush back to--but still worth checking out once.

I'm so glad I did. Their matcha is top tier. I ordered two regular matchas with regular sugar, one blueberry matcha with regular sugar, a regular iced coffee, four cupcakes (strawberry shortcake and mango), and a sesame egg tart. Now before y'all start judging me, these were not all for me . My back is getting big, I don't need all that to add to it lol. Everything was packaged securely and presented beautifully. What impressed me even more was the customer service. Orders are placed on a kiosk that sits a little away from the staff, so I honestly didn't think anyone was paying much attention to who ordered what. Imagine my surprise when one of the staff members walked my order directly to me with a kind and friendly smile instead of leaving it in the pickup area. That level of attention is impressive. Do you know how hard it is to make customers feel seen with minimal human interaction? Kudos to the team for pulling that off. Now, while I wanted to give five stars, there was one small miss. The cupcakes were a bit dry, and the mango filling wasn't quite my favorite. However, the sesame egg tart was hitting on every level. My only regret was not buying more of them and somehow convincing someone to hand over the recipe lol. Parking was easy and located right out front. I will definitely be back to try more items. My team loved everything I brought back, so I don't think they're going to let me get away with not bringing them more next time.
