Such a gorgeous interior and big selection of sweets! We got the Italian sandwich as well as a variety of Turkish Delights. DO NOT GET THE PASTRIES FROM HERE. They are terrible, bland and they just don't taste right. They have so many delicious looking pastries but they all taste so bad!!!!!! So sad how the variety of things they look to be known for is nothing but crap (excuse the language.) Taste worse than store bought desserts. I tried the eclair here (breading is dry and the cream inside is just nasty.) The chocolate cake and Oreo cake were so bland too. Nothing is moist and delicious about these cakes. More like undeniably disgusting. The cookies taste like powder. The roll cake was actually okay compared to everything else I tried but it still wasn't great. Just better than everything else. If I ever come here I'll stick to their affogato. You can choose what gelato you want inside your espresso and I chose coffee to go with it. I got a Baklava mix from here and it was outstanding. It's fresh, light, and beautifully presented. The service was also excellent and fast.

I bought a groupon for their chocolate mousse cake. It was excellent!! Great craftsmanship and just all around gorgeous! Honestly, a superb cake and highly recommend! The employees greeted me when I arrived, and were prompt to assist me. So why the low star status? The rest of the baked goods...they're dry and just plainly need help. My advice for the bakery...go with what you do best. Your cakes which are promoted on Groupon. Get rid of the cookies; they're not appealing in taste or looks. I usually just stop here for iced coffee. Once I ordered the grilled cheese. It is actually very delicious! The last visit I made I was looking to grab another grilled cheese and pair it with a tomato soup as listed on the menu. I was told they did not have the tomato soup that day but instead minestrone. Ok, fine I'll deal with it. I paid and as I was waiting I was then told it wasn't minestrone it was chicken noodle. Ehh, not as excited I still agreed to it... Much to my dismay, I should've opted out. It was a very unappealing, flavorless chicken noodle soup. I didn't know I'd love rose water cookies so much! Upon entering the Classic Bakery, it's hard to ignore the salivating display of Persian cookies and desserts. If you were tempted like I was, you choose a box size to fill up with any treats you want and the box is weighed at the end. I chose 7 types of cookies and paid $8.91 at checkout. Most treats have the same flavor profiles, for example the bamieh and zulubia both have the dominant rose water flavor but with different textures and forms. The zulubia is like a translucent, crispy fried funnel cake filled with rose water. On the other hand, bamieh is a small fried dough that's crispy on the outside and chewy in the inside. I enjoyed both the flagrant, sweet, and sticky treats filled and saturated with rose water. Also there are many baklava treats formed in different shapes- cut into triangles, rolled into a log, or in nest form. The phyllo dough was soaked with honey, almond topping, cinnamon, and vanilla that it didn't have any crispy layer that I was used to expecting. I also tried the soft shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate and they were the perfect level of sweetness, which to me means not too sweet. I thought the cookie prices were a bit steep at about 1 cookie for over $1 but assortment always tend to cost more so be careful on how many your eyes choose. read more

My Fiancé and I visited the bakery over the weekend to taste cake for our wedding. The experience was lukewarm at best. What was supposed to be a 45 minute appointment lasted around 15 minutes if you cut out the time it took someone to speak with us. Even though we had an appointment we watched numerous customers be helped before us. The cake was sat down infront of us without so much as a hello. We were offered coffee but not offered sugar and cream. When we were finally approached the lady only asked about the design of our cake. Never asked about the flavors we tried and what we liked. They only asked for the delivery address and quoted the price. They never asked about our day or any details and we left very unsatisfied. read more

I have been ordering my cakes for any celebration for a while now. They used to have their location at Gaithersburg then they moved to Rockville. I didn't see the big difference in the space inside but I think they have more parking space and closer to the city. They follow the Covid protocols with a mask and social distancing. One of my favorite cakes is their fruit cake. I think a lot of their customers will agree with me. Throughout the years, they never failed with their cakes from design to flavor. On the holiday season, I ordered the Christmas cake with Nutella flavor, it was delicious! It wasn't too sweet and yet you can taste the Nutella. My kids love it! Then, on my dad's birthday, I ordered the red velvet cake, it was so moist, full of flavor, and not too sweet. My family likes it! Even though they had to change the writing because the name was wrong still came out nice on the cake. The last cake I ordered was my husband's birthday cake. I ordered the tres leches, it didn't come out well. The flavor taste like a coconut strawberry cake more than as tres leches. That is the reason I only gave 4 stars. I was to have lunch with a friend in an 'adult community (retirement home) and want to take her a small treat. I went to Classic Bakery and was disappointed by their lack of tarts, eclairs, small sweet treats. I finally bought a small slice of carrot cake. The coffee is also good, the gata breads are amazing, and the prepared cakes/desserts are also delicious. First time I am happy with the service here. The young gentleman is very nice and polite but he's usually busy making coffee. Other people just really put a damp on morning mood. I like that it's walking distance to my work. Pricing is reasonable. Classic Bakery is an absolutely wonderful addition to Northern Virginia, and I love that it is a family business! I always prefer to support businesses that are truly a labor of love for their owners. I honestly dream about Classic Bakery's chicken sandwich on a fresh croissant with Persian pickles. It is out-of-this-world good. Their chocolate truffle and carrot cakes are also to die for, as well as their delicious Mochas made by their talented barista, Steven. I'm so happy they added gelato to their offerings as well. The strawberry gelato tastes like summer on a spoon! So looking forward to my next visit to this location. The "Pastry Shop" sign lured my friends and I in. We ordered each a latte or macchiato. We were all delighted as the drinks were super good. We shared some pastries (can't remember specifics) but they were all decadent. The sitting area is limited but they do have tables and chairs outside perfect for the warming weather. They also have a small selection of "grocery" items (honey, jams, sweets, bread etc). I did also try their large chocolate chip cookie and it was perfectly soft and just the right amount of chewiness. Not bad, but not great. I discovered Classic Bakery the other day when I was in the area and noticed new signage in the strip of restaurants. With its cursive print, I was intrigued to see what sort of baked goodies the place would have. I checked the hours and was SUPER happy to see that a casual café would be open past 5pm in Tysons. Most cafes close at 3:30, primarily focusing on serving the work crowd at lunch. I ended up coming here for dinner and got a turkey sandwich and chocolate almond cake pastry. The sub sandwiches come in half/large, similar to Subway's setup. I got the turkey in a large size, and price-wise, it was great value. Taste-wise though, it was kind of bland because it lacked a sauce with any defining flavor. Originally, I wanted the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo (like Panera), but the soup was unavailable. The pastries range from cookies to cake slices to middle-eastern desserts. Everything is $15.50 per pound which is pricey! My one tiny pastry cost me $2.50 based on weight. If I got a pound of cookies for $15, I'd be curious to see how many cookies that would amount to. The cake pastry was only okay - it wasn't overly sweet which was nice, but there was no almond flavor as I was expecting based on the name. The place is clean and there are a few small tables. I wouldn't recommend bringing a group larger than 4 here. There are bottled drinks, pre-packaged Turkish "delight" boxes and teas, and made-to-order coffees and teas. The guy working here was nice and friendly and made my sandwich diligently. Bottom line: I wouldn't mind coming back here for a dinner sub, soup/sandwich combo or to try the Armenian tea. This was the worst bagel I have ever had. It was stale and had barely any cream cheese. Most places put on so much cream cheese you need to take some off, well this had almost none. The bagel was toasted but so chewy and the bottom half was so hard I couldn't eat it. Very disappointed in my first breakfast there! read more
