After all these years, O Bread remains one of my very favourite bakeries of all time. Revisiting after a recent renovation, I was reassured that they had not lost our compromised their creativity which was evident in their baked goods selection. One of the things that makes them stand out is the creative blend of ingredients and flavours that most other bakeries don't have. And they have classic offerings that are hard to find elsewhere, such as the banan cream bun which now apparently has slices of real bananas in addition to the already outstanding banana cream filling. Service is always friendly and courteous, and the fact that this is not a big chain of stores adds more credibility in my book. I hope they stay open for many more years. read more

Original O'bread location before Centreville location opened up and got busy. Glad they re-opened after their renovation. It felt like forever. They have some of the best breads out of all the Korean bakeries in NoVA. I like their chocolate conch bread and their cream bread (the refrigerated one). They have really soft loaf bread. They also have a large variety of breads and they are all individually packaged in wrapping. If something is not in a packaging, they will pack it for you during checkout. Cakes are not too sweet, and it is a good price. Good place to stop by. I think they have a little table and chair for like two people, but most people grab and go. read more

Lovely spot! Had been meaning to try this new place out, as it's right around The corner from my work. I really enjoyed my green bean bun which had a delicious cookie crumble center and was very reasonably priced at $2. That and my latte came to $6.50. Seems perhaps too reasonable. This is easily my favorite bakery in the area. What sets them apart is the texture--the icing and cream are incredibly soft and light. They have a great mix of both savory and sweet items, and their coffee is surprisingly good too. If you're looking for authentic Korean bread, don't go anywhere else. Highly recommended! read more

I've been coming to O'Bread for over 4 years now. It was so much better before they opened up the Centerville location. I'm glad it finally reopened the Annandale location, following a long renovation closure, but I am a bit dismayed by the quality of its offerings. We used to order their yogurt cakes for all celebratory occasions, but now notice a drop in quality. When we tried the pumpkin pound cake we noticed the bitter taste and foul smell of something had gone bad we spitted it out immediately and trashed the bread. I wish they'd put a date on the products to indicate when it was made and the expired date to check for. Went back in to ask for a refund and they only allow us to exchange. read more

So glad that the O Bread location in Annandale re-opened so I don't have to go to Centreville. Also, it's nice to have more bakery options (even though there's already several, haha). My friend and I stopped by last week to pick up some pastries. So many delicious options, so I ended up picking four pastries. Most pastries are around 3.00, which isn't a bad price to splurge a bit for breakfast or snack. The MILK SHONG SHONG was good with a nice milk/cream flavor. I enjoyed both BLUEBERRY BUN and CHEWY BLUEBERRY BREAD (I think this one had a cream cheese center). I would get all three of these again. I also got the MATCHA STEAMED CASTELLA (has some red bean in it, too) that had a nice matcha flavor but the castella, overall, was a bit too dry. Definitely will be back to try more pastries and maybe some drinks. They have a variety of cakes here, too. read more

Such a lovely bakery with delicious treats and drinks. Was my first time in and will be back. But one thing to note, yesterday when I was in there were a lot of pastries with "keep refrigerated" stickers on the packaging but they were just on the open shelves (not refrigerated) and at business close all the pastries were gathered up to store for the night (likely unrefrigerated). So I'd be hesitant about any pastries marked "refrigerated" as they may have sat out for a really long time. I stuck to other options to be safe and they were delicious. read more

Both Black Forest and strawberry shortcake were our favorite cakes from this establishment and both pieces tasted w some age on it. Excellent bread shop! The bread is always so fresh. I have gotten their loaf of bread which was amazing for grilled cheese and other sandwiches. Tried a blueberry muffin, chicken salad croissant sandwich, and have had cold and hot lattes from here. All which have tasted really good and the staff has always been friendly and inviting. The shop is also very clean. I have yet to have the desserts but I am looking forward to trying them. I always prefer to support local. However, the only downfall is that they do not open until 10, so if you're an early morning coffee person you will have to wait. read more

I'ms so happy this place reopened after renovations!!! I love the Centreville location, but Annandale is much closer. I didn't know the O stands for organic which is cool! My go-to items are the yogurt blueberry cream bread, hotdog bun, and pistachio latte. I love trying new things tho hehe... The staff are extremely friendly, funny, and attentive too. Every time I come to town this is my go to bakery. I mean where to start the selection is great, fresh, and made day of. I honestly feel like the bigger bakery's don't even make the goods in house but get it shipped. Obviously other places have their own benefits but O just does it for me every time. I know the atmosphere isn't cafe style where you sit and enjoy your treats but more of a grab and go . The quality of ingredients is really something that stands out . They use organic flour, eggs, milk, and cream even some of the breads don't use eggs . The mocha roll cake is my fav roll cake ! The cream is so fresh and light the cake itself is so moist and has a great mocha flavor . You get pieces of mocha crunch mixed with the cream that's just an amazing surprise. I also love the spicy jalapeño hot dog and the cream puffs. The matcha soboro is bomb and my latest favorite treat. If you hit it at the right time you'll even find samples . The coffee and different flavor lattes are always delicious. It is a smaller bakery in the middle of a random shopping center but a great gem. The staff is great and always have a welcoming smile. O Bread Bakery is still a 5/5 in my books. It definitely beats all other Asian bakeries in the DMV area. I love how fresh the bread tastes and not artificial. After coming several times since my last review, I realized I failed to mention their fresh cream bread options! You can find the fresh cream breads in the little refrigerated area to the left of the store once you enter. The cream is so light, fluffy, and not too sweet. Usually, I'm able to grab a few in the morning ~11AM, but they sell out quickly by the afternoon/evening. Their plain red bean buns are great as well. The red bean filling inside is nicely sweetened and has the perfect ratio of completely mashed red beans to slightly mashed red beans, which helps to give it a good texture and a slight chew. read more

I live in Maryland and whenever I'm down here i always make the drive to this place. Even among Korean bakeries this place really is the best. It's quite small and cramped but there's a wide variety of breads, including savory. Their cakes are also amazing and the young lady at the cash register is very kind. The cakes and bread at this bakery are phenomenal - especially their yogurt cream fruit cakes! What the other reviewer said is true; the cream here is delicious and the cakes are addictive. I may or may not have eaten half a cake all by myself. I'm not sure if it's the fresh + organic ingredients they use, but other bakeries just do not compare, both in freshness and taste! I've ordered them for several birthday celebrations, and each time EVERYONE asked where I'd gotten them. I just wish I lived closer! This is to warn everyone not to ever think about going to this place. Look at the pictures, the cake is terrible. I bought this green tea cake at 5pm with hoping that I can eat it at night. At 10pm when I was about the eat it, the cake was frozen. The plastic knife they gave me couldn't even run through half the cake. I was so surprised cus who would have thought that the cake you just bought today cannot be eaten. The day after, I left the cake thawed in the fridge. I served a slice to my friends. It was terrible. Look at the picture. Soggy, watery, mushy at the bottom. Fruits were not fresh. Not a single thing about this cake that is good. Today, I called the store and asked for a refund. I was told that this is how they sell the cake. They said all cake are sold frozen for "freshness". Who does that? Not only they refused to give me a refund. They didn't want to take any responsibility for this messy soggy bad frozen cake. Only word the owner kept repeating was "this is how our cake is like" "we won't take the cake back since it's been two days" Too bad we ended up trashing the whole thing. So please save your money and drive down a little further, in less than 5 mins you will find a better bakery called Breeze. Better selections, better customer service. But of course if you want a frozen cake that cannot be eaten on day 1 and bad customer service, O bakery is the place for you. read more

I SWEAR BY THIS BAKERY!!! Literally the beeeeeesst Asian bakery in the area. Honestly, I love it that they still have that cute small local bakery vibe. All of their goods are made with Organic Flour, and just super well crafted and absolutely delicious. At one point in time, I came here every week to buy a Nagasaki Castella. I am super super picky about my castella, from growing up in Asia and also from experiences tasting plasticky packaged castella, O Bread KNOWS how to bake a delicious cake. And for everyone in my family and extended family, for every occasion - someone's birthday, Christmas, NY, you name it, we get their Rolled Cake. Their cheesecake is also bomb. But the best cake is hands down the blueberry yogurt rolled cake, and clearly everyone knows it. In love with this little bakery in Annandale! Tuck into the square where HMart is! Came here before doing a grocery trip at HMart and tried a few different breads. This bakery is a cute little store and the people working here are so nice. The baked goods are out of this world! And we got coffee as well and it was yummy! They serve illy brand coffee which is one of my faves because of the taste of the coffee is on the sweeter side! This is my second time in this bakery and the staff is always very helpful. Love everything from this place, my personal favorites are their buttery sliced bread and the savory breads. I also recently got a cake done by them and it was a huge hit with everyone I shared it with. The interior is classic Korean bakery style, and is a great stop if you just want a coffee and a place to work. Ordered 2 cakes here now and it really is the best at Asian fruit cakes - a light cake, only slightly sweetened, filled with various types of fruit. I am not a big sweets eater, but the cakes here are addictive. The cream tastes super fresh, light and airy. When it comes to cakes, I will generally scrape off all the frosting and only eat the cake because I can't stand how sweet frosting is, but I will clean my plate when it comes to O bread cake! The cake itself is fluffy and packed full of fruit (pears, strawberries, mandarin oranges, pineapples). We ordered here two years ago for my daughter's 100 days and again for her 2 year old birthday. She ate so much of it, we were afraid she would make herself sick (she was fine). I ordered on a Monday over the phone and simply said a fruit cake with a birthday message without giving much further instruction other than the size. Picked it up on Friday, and goodness was it beautiful. Exceeded expectations on presentation. My mom, who has bought a lot of Asian fruit cakes in her time, was so impressed by it. She said, "Wow, that's the prettiest fruit cake I've ever seen." This is definitely our go to place for cakes even though it takes 30-40 min just to get down here from Bethesda. Bakery breads, cakes, cookies are tasty and made fresh daily. Sometimes they only have 1-2 of each kind and they go quickly on the weekends. The red velvet and other cakes are moist and delicious. This is honestly the best bakery I have ever been to, and I drive about half an hour (one way) three times a week to get all kinds of breads, pastries, and cakes from here. The funny thing is I am actually from LA and NY where so many new authentic restaurants and bakeries open up almost every day. From what I have tasted, O Bread Bakery only uses the best ingredients! They also put very generous amounts of these ingredients, but why is everything so much cheaper than Paris Baguette...haha The organic cream and all the nuts that they put into their pastries amaze me every time.
