Having been sick for over a couple weeks now I really was in the mood for something cold and refreshing and I love me some Matcha and I love me some Underdog! I opted to try their Strawberry Matcha and for my first sip I did not stir it and that was too incredibly sweet and obviously meant to be stirred in lol; you can see the pics with all the strawberry on the bottom. Once I stirred it, it was a perfect mix of Matcha with a hint of strawberry and so refreshing and delicious!
I really enjoyed my visit here. The café has a cozy atmosphere, and true to its name, they even provide free treats for dogs outside, which I thought was such a thoughtful touch. The staff were also very friendly. I ordered the Mango Acai Bowl, and the portion was much bigger than I expected. It was easily enough for two people to share. The interior is warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax. Parking is a little limited, but spaces seem to open up fairly quickly. I would definitely come back!
Modern clean coffee bar designed to appeal to the younger crowds. Nice interior spaces, with the one real limitation -- parking lot is too small for their space to keep up with any activity. They have some outside spaces that work for seating only in select time of days due to the direct sun. They have soft music going and do a good job not entirely overloading their space. The drinks are espresso bar sized (smaller) even on their larges, so be ready for that style over the American sized variants or mass market options. Flavors aren't bad and fairly quick on the bar depending on the time of day. If anything they need a few more rotating flavor or specials to catch some interest but the kitchen options help offset that. Where you can at least get your grub with a sit down.
Really enjoyed our breakfast here! I had the pineapple lemonade and it was delicious and refreshing. Along with my yummy breakfast burrito! Both of my friends loved their breakfast sandwiches and lattes as well!
Such a lovely spot. Came in on my way out of town and ordered a sausage croissant, sans egg and cheese. At 11:40am, 06.24.2026, a Wednesday there's a decent number of patrons lounging inside and out, it's a gorgeous day. The staff is exceptionally nice and accommodating. I specifically visited to try the in-house made sausage which reminded me of Jimmy Dean without the kick. I wasn't disappointed but I need some heat in my sausage. I would return to try some of their other bakery and sandwich options.
This place has been hit or miss in the past. I've tried their matcha and peanut butter latte before and I was not the biggest fan, but the sea salt foam latte was amazing and redeemed this spot for me!! I love the seating here and the big windows, the spots can be limited during their rush hours but it's soo worth it to give it a try.
I was impressed by their matcha latte! Usually matcha is an afterthought at a coffee shop, but this one was great. This place can get very busy on weekends, we ended up finding the last available table for a while, so make sure to come earlier if you want to find a seat guaranteed.
Ample parking. Pastries and coffee. Crowded at 3pm on a Wednesday. Almost entirely people sipping one cup and sitting for three hours with their laptops. Makes it hard to grab a cup, sit, and talk to another human. The music was very loud, which also made it very difficult to hear the person across the table. They kept turning it up and down. Kind of awful. And dress up the hot chocolate as much as they want, it's not a five dollar cup of cocoa. Overall, if you just wanna sit and fill out job applications, and only have to order one cup of coffee, this is your place. You can open a laptop and sit for hours and no one will bother you. As far as actually coming in here to enjoy something to drink and eat, You might as well go to Starbucks.
Fun local coffee shop with lots of tasty latte options. I went early Saturday morning and there were only a couple of customers there. We got helped right away. There is a good bit of seating but none of it looked too comfy, there's a hard bench that runs against the windows, that's where we had to sit. I got the peanut cream latte and my husband got the sea salt coffee. Both were pretty good and the latte art was perfect. I will be going back!
The drinks are amazing!! There are tons of bananas by the espresso machine for all of the banana drinks which I love. The real banana makes the drinks even better. My only qualms are the parking and that my sandwich wasn't warmed properly (some parts were still cold), it was still good though!
After lunch nearby, three of us were craving something sweet and could use a pick-me-up latte in the afternoon. There were a lot of different drinks to choose from, but I was craving a flavored latte at the time, so I asked the barista which signature latte (list of 12 options) was the least sweet. Per her recommendation, I got the HAZELNUT MOCHA LATTE (5.95 for the smaller size) which came with a beautiful feather latte art. Aesthetically, the latte was beautiful and perfect. The drink itself was a bit too sweet for me, and I found that the coffee flavor wasn't too noteworthy, but at least it was there. Overall, not bad, but not great. In the future, I'll try something from their non-coffee list or maybe a classic black coffee. The baked goods and food items looked pretty good as well.
I had some time to kill before heading home and checked out this nearby coffee shop that I had driven by in the past. There was little to no line but there was a consistent flow of people in/out. I tried a coffee and sausage/egg/cheese sandwich on a croissant that was sooo fresh and flakey. It was delicious. Seating was available although slightly limited with people socializing and on their computers. I wished the seating was more of a cozy cafeteria instead of so many upright chairs and table, as well as decorations other than things they're selling. I would return in the future and bring my wife for a relaxing cup of coffee.
This place is so cute, the vibe is so peaceful and calming. They have slight classical background music playing. It's a great place to come and work. Their menu is super broad with flavors that you don't get at many coffee shops. My favorite part is they have a trust your barista coffee, which allows your barista to become creative and create a drink just for you. I will definitely be back.

I came here for my first time yesterday and I am absolutely in love and upset that it took me this long to stop by! I guess I was hesitant about the amount of foot traffic but I was able to secure a seat with a charging port underneath as I worked on job applications. The staff were friendly, the environment was clean and full of vibes! I got the tiramisu latte and the Madeline cookie it comes with added the sweetness I was missing! 8.5/10 I also got a sausage egg and cheese on a croissant and MMMMMM that was cooked to perfection! 10/10 in my book. All in all, I am so coming back and bringing my pup with me next time when I'm locking in. Grateful this is so close to home! read more

We came to Underdog on a Saturday morning for coffee and brunch. The place was pretty busy and seating is definitely limited, but my friend and I got lucky and snagged a table right away. Even with the crowd, service was fast and our food and drinks came out quickly. I got the egg and cheese croissant, which was delicious. The sauce they serve with it pairs with it so well. It is a really nice spot, but it gets packed quickly, so just keep that in mind if you're planning to go on a weekend. I definitely will be back to try some of their other pastries and drinks! read more

This spot gets quite busy in the mornings and parking can be difficult in the small lot. Their menu is big with many options to choose from and I believe their pricing is on par with other coffee shops around the area but if you're adding some sandwiches in there it can be a little steep which is the reasoning for my number of stars. 3 drinks and 3 sandwiches came out to a little over $50 for reference. It was great but we left the shop still debating if the price was worth it. Their "signature coffee" and "only underdog" drinks are a must try. They have a wide variety for everyone and I see they have acai bowls which I thought is an interesting breakfast option as a lot of shops strictly have just coffee and breakfast sandwiches/pastries. Their breakfast sandwiches are good but nothing really stands out. They do use a lot of cheese, you will really taste it in your sandwich. The interior is clean and there is enough seating for when it isn't busy. If it is packed, expect to wait around for a table. I personally wouldn't recommend doing work in here as there is a lot of different noises in the shop and customers moving around. read more
So welcome after a payday loans place followed by a vape shop in this same building. They've really raised the property value on this corner. Plenty of parking on a weekday morning. Good coffee and nice breakfast sandwich (sausage, egg, and cheese). They do put a generous amount of aoli on the sandwich that I would hold next time. Just not needed on a breakfast sandwich with juicy sausage and melty cheese. It was so rich I almost couldn't finish it, which is quite out of character! Friendly staff and cute ambiance. Probably not a place I'd stay for a very lingering conversation unless they're weren't very busy, but there is one small sofa loveseat and two cozy chairs as well as several small tables. read more

A really cute spot for coffee and breakfast. I came here to telework for a couple of hours, it was pretty busy but the service was friendly and efficient. I ordered an iced vanilla latte which was amazing and the Philly bagel was just as good. read more
Really cute cafe! I wish this cafe was closer to me so I can frequent it more often. This atmosphere definitely has a clean minimalist aesthetic which I like. The cafe offers so many interesting drink concepts which made it really hard to choose. They also offered a decent menu for food and pastries. I ended up ordered the banana matcha latte and it both flavors showed up well. I had this drink at another cafe before and it tasted more like banana milk so this place made it SO much better. I recommend trying out that banana matcha latte as well as the earl grey pound cake. Service was also nice! read more
Went to underdog cafe because I've heard amazing reviews and I can truly say their coffee is so so yummy! The cafe itself is super cute and and clean. The staff are very helpful and sweet. Definitely recommend checking this place out read more
Annandale, Annandale, Annandale. This place keeps changing and competition just keeps popping up. All for the better at the benefit of consumers in this little town. So Underdog Coffee & Bread was a place I'd seen and finally got to check out a couple of times now. This is competition for all the predominantly Korean cafes in the area. Will it stack up? We had an appointment nearby and I stumbled in for something small to eat. Grabbed some hot chocolates, some double chocolate cookie, and a croissant pastry. Great start. On our other visits, we tried different lattes, coffees, and had their sandwiches. I had a bagel croissant style sandwich with eggs, bacon, and spinach. Very good snack. There is no table service, walk up and pick up your order. Space is small, no outside sitting, adequate parking, it gets loud fast when it fills up in there. It's nice place to catch up with friends and have a quick bite. I liked everything they were serving up here. So how does that stack up? I'd say they have better sandwiches here than other places around the area. Pastries and breads selection is smaller. They do serve great coffee but mid hot chocolate. In terms of price, they're up there for a small sandwich but the veggies they use are crisp and fresh. I'd say they're doing okay with the competition in Annandale. I want to see more pastry options but this is mainly a coffee place so if you really want that, there's a ton other places to go to. If you want a clean place for coffee and a fancy sandwich, not a bad choice here. read more
This place is sooooo cute. As a weenie owner myself all the dachshund decor is amazing!! The staff is super kind and helpful, and the interior design of the place is top notch. I ordered the pistachio iced latte with oat milk and it's delish!! It comes with some pistachio topping. read more
Saw this on my way to lunch in Annandale so had to stop by afterwards. Glad we did as they offer different varieties of coffee drinks here and the coffee drinks actually taste good and as advertised (meaning you can taste the flavor). There's nice seating areas and appear to be ample parking read more
This cafe is bright and laid out well. There's a good variety of seating which creates a good environment for working or meeting with a friend for a chat. The latte was just ok. The coffee isn't the best I've had and it was very expensive. Almost $9 for a regular sized latte with hazelnut and oat milk. I almost ordered a banana as well but they were charging $2.50 for that so I opted out quickly. I'm glad that I visited but I probably won't return considering the prices and the average beverage. Also, the one bathroom they have was well kept but the door doesn't lock. read more
Underdog Coffee & Bread is a worthy stop when in Annandale. I stopped by at 9:20am on a Wednesday in July. Despite a line inside to order coffee, I was able to snag a spot in the parking lot out front. To drinks, I ordered a hot pistachio latte and a breakfast sandwich with sausage on an English muffin. Because of the line, it took about eight minutes to get my drink and food. Both tasted great! The latte wasn't super sweet and the sandwich was hot and delicious. There's a slight uniqueness to it, but also very much a breakfast sandwich that you're used to. The space is beautifully designed and very dog friendly. There are treats and water for dogs and you can even buy little dog stuffed animals inside. There are tables near outlets and outdoor seating. It took me about 10 minutes to snag a table near an outlet. There's strong wi-fi. read more
I went last weekend to try the banana latte and it was better than expected! I was worried it would be an artificial banana taste, but it was clear they used a real banana. The cafe was very busy and had limited seating which was not ideal however I imagine that will improve as the hype dies down. read more

My new favorite coffee shop!! I've been here multiple times to study, read, and hang out with friends and the vibes are immaculate (as well as all the food and drinks!) I've gotten the banalatte, mango latte, blueberry latte, peach yuzu tea, TITE (Thai iced tea with espresso), avocado toast, and crogel sandwich and all of them were delicious But what really stood out was the service (s/o to Andrew for being the best barista ever)! He really listens to what I'm looking for and gives excellent recommendations. Thank you Andrew and all of the staff for always making my experience here amazing. Will continue to come here and highly recommend you check the place out too! read more
I stopped by on a weekday, and it was packed! I love the ambiance especially the adorable dachshund theme. The cafe offers a variety of drinks and some pastries as well. I ordered a coconut latte and assorted cookies, and everything was delicious! The staff were very friendly, they even offered pup cups for my dogs. If you're ever looking for a cozy spot to study or work with great coffee, I definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

First of all, as a dachshund owner I'm obsessed with the theme and merch!! That's definitely what drew me to come and try underdog. They have a large menu with tons of drink options which I love. We got their iced matcha, strawberry lemonade and the banalatte. Out of all three the banalatte was my favorite! It's a little thicker than a usual latte, but not smoothie level thick. It has banana blended in with espresso and milk, and topped with cinnamon. I loved it and thought it had the perfect sweetness while also being creamy. It only comes iced but I usually prefer iced drinks for coffee. The matcha and strawberry lemonade were great as well. There is an option to order ahead which is convenient. Overall I loved it and definitely see myself coming back! read more
tl;dr: A cute dog themed cafe with many unique drinks and sweet treats. I love checking out new-to-me cafes, so I stopped by Underdog Coffee and Bread to try their drinks and unique food options. Here's everything that I tried: Matcha Latte - I ordered mine with oat milk and it was a good consistency, not watery. Earthy flavor. Ube Latte - Served with a scoop of ice cream! Matcha Pound Cake - Next time I'll get this warmed up, it was dense but had a good flavor. Cooper's Favorite - The egg was fluffy and it had a great sauce! Matcha Cookie - White chocolate was the perfect complement. Vibes/Seating - Bright and sunny with many places to sit. Tables and chairs to sit outside as well. Parking - Lots of parking out front. read more
So happy we finally tried out this coffee spot for a coffee date! We came on a weekday morning and it had a decent amount of foot traffic. They have a good selection of breakfast sandwich options, which I love!!! Even the coffee menu is pretty extensive, everything came out to be perfect. read more

A friend took me here for coffee one Saturday morning and it was very busy (which is always a good sign). The parking wasn't great but, you can manage. Now the coffee.. I love lattes so this was such a treat because they have so many to choose from! I played it safe and got a large dirty chai and it was SO good. They do have food. I didn't try anything this trip but plan to during my next visit. This is a great little coffee shop to work, meet with friends, bring your dog (or child) and have a nice morning/early lunch out. I can't wait to go back. read more
