Hazelnut mocha cafe which was beautifully done with a swan design in the milk frothing and it was delicious, but a tad too sweet for my liking, but most people will probably love its sweetness. Teddy's No1 which consists of in-house homemade sausage, egg cheese, baby, spinach, and veggies on a fresh brioche bun. Delish! Bella's way, which is a veggie sandwich and has fresh mozzarella, avocado, baby spinach, tomato, and a pesto sauce on a delicious brioche bun. Amazing! THE DEETS As I mention the line never stopped so you know it's good and everything is top-notch ingredients and made fresh. The staff is so friendly. The place is spotless. It was packed. Modern clean coffee bar designed to appeal to the younger crowds. Nice interior spaces, with the one real limitation -- parking lot is too small for their space to keep up with any activity. They have some outside spaces that work for seating only in select time of days due to the direct sun. They have soft music going and do a good job not entirely overloading their space. The drinks are espresso bar sized (smaller) even on their larges, so be ready for that style over the American sized variants or mass market options. Flavors aren't bad and fairly quick on the bar depending on the time of day. If anything they need a few more rotating flavor or specials to catch some interest but the kitchen options help offset that. Where you can at least get your grub with a sit down. read more

At 11:40am, 06.24.2026, a Wednesday there's a decent number of patrons lounging inside and out, it's a gorgeous day. The staff is exceptionally nice and accommodating. I specifically visited to try the in-house made sausage which reminded me of Jimmy Dean without the kick. I wasn't disappointed but I need some heat in my sausage. Ample parking. Pastries and coffee. Crowded at 3pm on a Wednesday. Almost entirely people sipping one cup and sitting for three hours with their laptops. Makes it hard to grab a cup, sit, and talk to another human. The music was very loud, which also made it very difficult to hear the person across the table. They kept turning it up and down. Kind of awful. And dress up the hot chocolate as much as they want, it's not a five dollar cup of cocoa. Overall, if you just wanna sit and fill out job applications, and only have to order one cup of coffee, this is your place. You can open a laptop and sit for hours and no one will bother you. Fun local coffee shop with lots of tasty latte options. I went early Saturday morning and there were only a couple of customers there. We got helped right away. There is a good bit of seating but none of it looked too comfy, there's a hard bench that runs against the windows, that's where we had to sit. I got the peanut cream latte and my husband got the sea salt coffee. Both were pretty good and the latte art was perfect. I will be going back! read more

The drink itself could have been stronger, and it was just banana puree lined up on the bottom, and not mixed with the rest of the drink. The highlight was the one of the mini banana breads, which was warmed up - it was moist and tasty, and a nice little treat. Staff were fine. The seating set up was a bit awkward; random spots here and there, and seemed obtrusive to the patrons entering/exiting. Annandale, Annandale, Annandale. This place keeps changing and competition just keeps popping up. All for the better at the benefit of consumers in this little town. So Underdog Coffee & Bread was a place I'd seen and finally got to check out a couple of times now. This is competition for all the predominantly Korean cafes in the area. Will it stack up? We had an appointment nearby and I stumbled in for something small to eat. Grabbed some hot chocolates, some double chocolate cookie, and a croissant pastry. Great start. On our other visits, we tried different lattes, coffees, and had their sandwiches. I had a bagel croissant style sandwich with eggs, bacon, and spinach. Very good snack. There is no table service, walk up and pick up your order. Space is small, no outside sitting, adequate parking, it gets loud fast when it fills up in there. It's nice place to catch up with friends and have a quick bite. I liked everything they were serving up here. So how does that stack up? I'd say they have better sandwiches here than other places around the area. Pastries and breads selection is smaller. They do serve great coffee but mid hot chocolate. In terms of price, they're up there for a small sandwich but the veggies they use are crisp and fresh. I'd say they're doing okay with the competition in Annandale. I want to see more pastry options but this is mainly a coffee place so if you really want that, there's a ton other places to go to. If you want a clean place for coffee and a fancy sandwich, not a bad choice here. read more

After lunch nearby, three of us were craving something sweet and could use a pick-me-up latte in the afternoon. There were a lot of different drinks to choose from, but I was craving a flavored latte at the time, so I asked the barista which signature latte (list of 12 options) was the least sweet. Per her recommendation, I got the HAZELNUT MOCHA LATTE (5.95 for the smaller size) which came with a beautiful feather latte art. Aesthetically, the latte was beautiful and perfect. The drink itself was a bit too sweet for me, and I found that the coffee flavor wasn't too noteworthy, but at least it was there. Overall, not bad, but not great. In the future, I'll try something from their non-coffee list or maybe a classic black coffee. The baked goods and food items looked pretty good as well. read more

I wished the seating was more of a cozy cafeteria instead of so many upright chairs and table, as well as decorations other than things they're selling. This spot gets quite busy in the mornings and parking can be difficult in the small lot. Their menu is big with many options to choose from and I believe their pricing is on par with other coffee shops around the area but if you're adding some sandwiches in there it can be a little steep which is the reasoning for my number of stars. 3 drinks and 3 sandwiches came out to a little over $50 for reference. It was great but we left the shop still debating if the price was worth it. Their "signature coffee" and "only underdog" drinks are a must try. They have a wide variety for everyone and I see they have acai bowls which I thought is an interesting breakfast option as a lot of shops strictly have just coffee and breakfast sandwiches/pastries. Their breakfast sandwiches are good but nothing really stands out. They do use a lot of cheese, you will really taste it in your sandwich. The interior is clean and there is enough seating for when it isn't busy. If it is packed, expect to wait around for a table. I personally wouldn't recommend doing work in here as there is a lot of different noises in the shop and customers moving around. read more

So welcome after a payday loans place followed by a vape shop in this same building. They've really raised the property value on this corner. Plenty of parking on a weekday morning. Good coffee and nice breakfast sandwich (sausage, egg, and cheese). They do put a generous amount of aoli on the sandwich that I would hold next time. Just not needed on a breakfast sandwich with juicy sausage and melty cheese. It was so rich I almost couldn't finish it, which is quite out of character! Friendly staff and cute ambiance. This cafe is bright and laid out well. There's a good variety of seating which creates a good environment for working or meeting with a friend for a chat. The latte was just ok. The coffee isn't the best I've had and it was very expensive. Almost $9 for a regular sized latte with hazelnut and oat milk. I almost ordered a banana as well but they were charging $2.50 for that so I opted out quickly. I'm glad that I visited but I probably won't return considering the prices and the average beverage. Flavoring, size portion, taste, and price all need to be improved. The banana bread was hard and not moist and detected zero banana. It was tiny for the $6 price tag. The pistachio cream cold brew had only pistachio shavings- tasted zero nut flavoring otherwise. When they asked if I wanted sweetened- they said with vanilla- and I said no thinking that was on top of the pistachio. So it was literally cold brew cream with pistachio toppings on top. Despite a line inside to order coffee, I was able to snag a spot in the parking lot out front. To drinks, I ordered a hot pistachio latte and a breakfast sandwich with sausage on an English muffin. Because of the line, it took about eight minutes to get my drink and food. Both tasted great! The latte wasn't super sweet and the sandwich was hot and delicious. There's a slight uniqueness to it, but also very much a breakfast sandwich that you're used to. The space is beautifully designed and very dog friendly. There are treats and water for dogs and you can even buy little dog stuffed animals inside. There are tables near outlets and outdoor seating. A friend took me here for coffee one Saturday morning and it was very busy (which is always a good sign). The parking wasn't great but, you can manage. Now the coffee.. I love lattes so this was such a treat because they have so many to choose from! I played it safe and got a large dirty chai and it was SO good. They do have food. First of all, as a dachshund owner I'm obsessed with the theme and merch!! That's definitely what drew me to come and try underdog. They have a large menu with tons of drink options which I love. We got their iced matcha, strawberry lemonade and the banalatte. Out of all three the banalatte was my favorite! It's a little thicker than a usual latte, but not smoothie level thick. It has banana blended in with espresso and milk, and topped with cinnamon. I loved it and thought it had the perfect sweetness while also being creamy. It only comes iced but I usually prefer iced drinks for coffee. The matcha and strawberry lemonade were great as well. There is an option to order ahead which is convenient. This is such a cute coffee shop! We kept hearing about the banana latte and I'm so glad we decided to stop by and order one. It only comes in iced, which is perfectly fine, especially when it's freezing out! My cousin ordered the black sesame latte and said she hasn't had a drink taste as strong. I love that the decor focuses on dachshund. If I was feeling better, I definitely would've spent more $$. Service was helpful and friendly. And the drinks came out pretty quick.
