Ozzie's Good Eats in Fairfax is the ultimate neighborhood spot for amazing American comfort food,…read morecold drinks, and a fun, lively vibe--no wonder it's got over 1k reviews! First off, this place is a Fairfax staple for a reason. The iconic pink building is impossible to miss, and the outdoor patio is perfect for a nice evening out, while the inside is cozy, welcoming, and always has a great energy. It's the kind of spot that works for everything: a casual weeknight dinner, a weekend brunch with friends, a game day watch party, or even a date night. Now for the food--chef's kiss all around. Everything we've tried here is consistently delicious: their shrimp appetizer is crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, and the cheese dip is creamy, cheesy, and addictive. Their burgers are juicy and cooked to perfection, the seafood dishes are fresh and well-prepared, and their salads are fresh and loaded with toppings. The portions are generous, the prices are totally fair, and every dish is made with high-quality ingredients. The service here is also next-level, just like the reviews say. Our servers (shoutout to Jun and Collin, who are absolute rockstars!) are friendly, attentive, and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great meal. They're quick to refill drinks, check in regularly, and make great menu recommendations, even when the place is packed. If you're in Fairfax and looking for a reliable, delicious spot with amazing food and service, run, don't walk, to Ozzie's Good Eats. It's easily my go-to spot in the area, and I'll be a regular for life!

A special shoutout to our server, Sandra, she was fantastic. We started with the bang bang shrimp--perfectly crispy with a delicious sweet heat that wasn't overpowering. Easily one of the best appetizers we've had. For my entrée, I had the twin lobster tails they were tender, buttery, and flawless. The seasonal vegetables were fresh and perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered the Connecticut lobster roll, which was loaded with generous chunks of lobster, lightly dressed, and served on a perfectly toasted roll with crispy fries. Simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious.

It's in a newish shopping center, which, for us, had a bonus-- there is a Harris Teeter there. We needed to pick up some items, so we did before having dinner. We were here for an early dinner. Now that it's getting darker so early, we try to avoid driving after dark, when possible. Thus, we were here around 3 p.m. and were glad to see they were serving dinner at that time. To drink, I chose a mocktail called "What a lychee" which consists of "lychee, pineapple juice, club soda". It was garnished with a lychee. I did enjoy this drink. My husband had a non-alcoholic Stella Artois. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated immediately. Having looked at the menu before arriving, we each knew what we wanted. I chose to try the "Blackened Pan Seared Yellow Fin Tuna" which (supposedly) consists of: "Topped with jumbo lump crab meat, sundried tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, creamy lemon sauce served with rice." My husband chose the "Shrimp platter," which (supposedly) consists of: "crispy beer battered shrimp, coleslaw and chipotle sauce served with hand cut French fries." It took a while for our food to come out. As I was eating, it dawned on me that there was no crab meat or sundried tomatoes. Also, the sauce sure was a creamy lemon sauce. It was more like a miso-flavored sauce. Hard to say if the menu got changed, but no new menus were printed up to fix it. Or was it that the young man who cooked the food wasn't familiar with the entrees? Still, despite the discrepancies, I did like this dish, although it would have been even better if they had prepared it correctly. My husband noticed that there was no Chipotle sauce on his dish. Instead, there were two small containers: one with ketchup and another with tartar sauce. He, too, thought that his shrimp was well prepared, although the breading didn't cling to the shrimp. This experience left us with mixed feelings. On the one hand, we appreciated the friendly, attentive service. Yet, on the other hand, we wonder whether it's worth going again, given the possibility of not getting all the ingredients for one's entree. We liked the ambiance, which evoked images of the beach. They have some nice paintings on one wall depicting the seashore, a lighthouse, and beach houses.

Well, it was not busy at all but deserved to be. Granted, it didn't have a "Valentine's Day"-dinner atmosphere, but still, it was a regular Saturday night with sports on TV. For the most part, the only patrons were around the bar. We were almost scared away by the sparse crowd, but we stayed and were glad we did. Food was good/great (shrimp quesadilla, burrito bowl, jambalaya, carrot cake) and delivered quickly and our waitress/hostess was attentive and thoughtful. She didn't rush us and stopped by a good number of times without being overbearing. She also seemed genuinely happy to be able to serve us. Prices are reasonable and maybe even a bit less than average. I believe only one other family sat in the dining area after we did. A few people came and got takeout while we were there. Would recommend if you're looking for a place that has a nice variety of food and maybe a little bit hidden away that some people might not know about (though I read in other reviews this place has been around a couple decades). We will be going back.

We also shared the strawberry-covered Holey Donuts, and they were so good (definitely worth it). For drinks, the Morning Meditation juice was such a refreshing hangover cure, and the Purple Haze had the perfect hint of lavender; not too strong, just right. It does get pretty busy, so I'd recommend getting on the waitlist ahead of time. The space has lots of natural light and a really nice, easy vibe. Service was great too. Overall, such a solid brunch spot.

Dear Yelpers, This…read moremorning I decided to go out for breakfast instead of making some for myself. In all honesty, it might have been better if I had cooked. Here is my review of First Watch. Food: I ordered the tri-facta, which came with a waffle, eggs, and chicken apple sausage patties. This meal was pretty basic, and nothing really stood out for me. You can go to the store, grab these ingredients, and make it at home. I don't need to order this, and can't believe it's part of the menu. Service: The service was not that great. There was no host, and I sat at the bar. The server barely checked in on me. No one asked if I needed coffee or water. Had to wait for a while to get the check. And everyone's tone was off for me. It wasn't the most hospitable. Ambiance: This place reminds me of a Denny's, but with a "bar counter". Again, nothing really stood out for me. It's basically a Denny's, but with more lights, but the vibes and everything had missed the mark significantly Overall, I am giving this place a 2 because the food service and ambiance were very basic. It wasn't the best experience, and I don't think I would try it again. Nelson
