This is actually a 4.5 review. Had a great experience. The restaurant reminded me of a diner / family restaurant. Service was great. Very friendly folks, very welcoming. I had the gave the beef fried steak. Came with two eggs (mine were over easy), hash browns and two biscuits. Smothered in sausage gravy. Also had pancakes with eggs and sausage. Had coffee, iced tea and coke zero. We also had coconut cream pie for dessert. The atmosphere was very comfortable and inviting. Great prices for whst we ordered. Very extensive menu. Definitely coming back to try other items on the menu.

Went here for the 1st time To be honest my only complaint were the biscuits Sadly I feel like the biscuits were missing something - kind of bland Everything else was tasty - loved the home fries The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly

Yorkshire Restaurant is a true old-school diner and a Manassas classic. Terri was quick, friendly, and kept the coffee and food coming without missing a beat. Breakfast was excellent--especially the corned beef hash, which was absolutely top-notch. Cozy Civil War-era atmosphere with a legit dive feel, great portions, and prices you can't beat ($10-$15). Easily one of the best breakfast spots around.

Did take out and the items arrived fresh. The home fries are pretty good as well. Everything packed well and just a pretty good place to get breakfast.

A Local Family Friendly Landmark in northern Va for over 30 years! The breakfast combination with pancakes & bacon and eggs was favorable and well portioned. The buttery pancakes melts in your mouth, the bacon was crisp and delicious, the eggs scrambled & flavored to perfection & the cottage cheese was great ( ordered one but got two ). The chocolate milk not pictured Completed this meal well. The chicken tenders meal was freshly made ( seasoned and fried to order) and the sauce was light and complimented well. Overall a great experience and looking forward to trying their many other dishes in the future.

Fish & Chips, with onion rings

Do not get the "Fish & Chips". Good lord, that shit was depressing. The food was literally all mush.. It was exactly the same shape, consistency and taste that you'd expect to come from a big box item thrown into the microwave for 5 minutes then slapped on a plate. For the price, I expected more. They're charging the same price for this as the REAL fish places like Captain D's, Long John Silvers, Louisiana Cafe, Sam's Southern Eatery, Skrimp Shack, and Long Time No Sea, are charging for their fish meals, with no where near the same quality! I wish I had a camera running for the moment that I opened the box and was greeted with pure disappointment - my face must have absolutely dropped from pure joy to absolute dejection. The fish on the bottom was smashed in half and split open and mushed everywhere, and the fish on top looked like a mass-produced brick - and something you'd eat if you were on a $3 food budget for the week. ...And you only get TWO pieces..?? Really?! ..They're charging you $20 for this meal, keep in mind. The fries were thin cut, floppy and cold. The onion rings were okay - some of the onions inside were super thin and fried to a crisp, while other onion rings were thick and as floppy as a wet piece of spaghetti - pretty bad texture. I've been to this place quite a few times before for breakfast, and usually they're pretty good.. But this experience was dismal. Their website says "Each dish is a testament to our commitment to health and flavor, prepared daily the moment you order it." ....Yeaaaah.. RIGHT... I highly doubt it. Not in MY experience, clearly! Strive to do better.

Yorkshire is a solid dinner, with nice staff and solid truly homemade food. This place feels like a Midwest dinner and is definitely a greasy spoon type place, but executed perfectly. They have a huge menu and we have tried a variety of options. I would recommend giving them a try. This place is always busy, so you know it's good.

Yorkshire Restaurant has been a staple in Manassas since 1958. I don't get there very often but when I do, I'm never disappointed. The food is always great and you get your money worth. Service is always great. While I was there it felt like a place to go where everyone knows your name. The decor can definitely use a makeover because it's a throwback to 1958. Definitely thumbs up for Yorkshire Restaurant .

I had a bowl of clam chowder that was absolutely delicious. The Greek salad is very refreshing and tasty as well. My brother had the spinach pie (spanakopita), which he said was flavorful. My husband had the gyro with fries. Their hand cut fries are delicious. He loved his gyro, which was packed with meat. The food is good, portions are generous and prices are reasonable. This was our final visit to The Omelette Cafe…read more The food itself was fine, but unfortunately everything else about the experience was bad enough that I will never return. I also do not want a response from the owner or management. I genuinely wish this small local business well, but I can no longer justify giving it another chance. During our previous visits, we already felt the value compared to the pricing was becoming questionable, but we wanted the restaurant to succeed. Today sealed the deal. When we arrived, only about 4 or 5 of the roughly 12 tables were occupied, with two waiters working the dining room. Most of the empty tables were dirty, many still covered with dishes from previous customers. The floor throughout the dining room was dirty and covered with debris. One waiter asked how many were in our party and directed us to a table. He sprayed and wiped only half the table with Windex. The other half, where the condiments were sitting, remained dirty. A few minutes after sitting down, I unfortunately put my finger directly into old sticky syrup that had clearly not been cleaned. The waiter took our order fairly quickly, but then poured cream directly into our coffees instead of letting us add it ourselves. Mine ended up with far too much cream. While waiting to use the restroom, I had a clear view into the kitchen area and noticed the kitchen floor appeared just as dirty as the dining room floor. What stood out most was that neither waiter seemed aware of or concerned about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. There was no sense of urgency or attention to the condition of the dining room. After waiting several minutes for the men's restroom, one waiter told me to go ahead and use the women's restroom instead. The restroom itself seemed reasonably clean, but the paper towel dispenser was broken, and a loose roll of paper towels was sitting on top of the toilet, damp from previous use. When we were ready to leave, one waiter asked how the service was. At that point, I simply wanted to leave as quickly as possible, so I said it was fine. He then left the payment machine at the table for me to run my own card, and even the machine itself was damp and unclean. Overall, the entire restaurant felt sticky, dirty, and poorly maintained. The tables were not being properly cleaned, the floors were sticky throughout the restaurant, and the overall lack of cleanliness completely overshadowed the meal itself. I truly wish this business success, but after three visits, I will not be returning.

I was intrigued by the pastrami sandwich options on the menu and really appreciated that gluten free bread was an option, so I had to try it! I was not disappointed at all. The sandwich was hefty - packed with meat, and flavorful. I'm not sure I liked the pile of salad that comes on the side - it's a lot to finish for one person and seems a bit wasteful. The service was good, but the sandwiches did take a bit longer than expected to come out. That might not be the case for other dishes though. I would certainly visit again!

For example, yesterday, I had their Peter's Special, a sandwich made from 1/2 lb of pastrami and 1/2 lb of corned beef. Except that it's not "a" sandwich, but three, all on delicious rye bread, each with its own pickle, and a small helping of slaw, sauerkraut, and a major pile of salad. It was my lunch yesterday; the remaining two sandwiches are my lunch today and tomorrow. That's three meals for $30, which, to me, is a reasonable price. The problem was that the more they do to create the food, the less flavorful it is. For example, on another recent visit, I had their Country Style Omelet. Again, it was huge and contained everything that goes into a great omelet. Except, there wasn't a lot of flavor. And that seems to be the theme. I grabbed a slice of their 24-layer cake and, again, big but not much taste beyond sweetness. If you crave a lot of food, then this might be the spot for you. However, if you prefer less and more, smaller portions with better, more nuanced flavor, then maybe try one of the other nearby restaurants.

The bright spot was our pleasant and knowledgeable waitress! I ordered the fish and chips - now I know that the Silver Diner is not a seafood restaurant, but the reality in my opinion is that fish and chips is an easy dish to make. I have enjoyed fish and chips at more restaurants than I can count, including some of the world's finest seafood on a recent trip to Iceland. My fish at the Silver Diner had the thickest and most dense breading that I have ever had! It was terrible to me. There was nothing about the breading that was light - it was way too thick, too glutinous, and the fish was substantially overcooked to the point of being dry. The fish and chips were served with a cup of chicken soup which was mediocre at best - under seasoned. We did start dinner with an appetizer of fried shrimp seasoned with a bit of Old Bay. It actually tasted very good but again the shrimp were very sadly overcooked which made them tough and chewy. So the food is definitely not for me, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a discerning taste. I also consider the food here very expensive relative to some other nearby restaurants that provide some truly great food at a much better price point.
