Dad and I went here for breakfast after visiting the nearby hospital. Our server was extra friendly and nice. The atmosphere included decor from the 50s, a small jukebox at each table and lots of memorabilia. Dad got an omelette and I got eggs over easy with potatoes. The food came quickly and was delicious. A fun side note was eavesdropping on the three ladies sitting behind us. They were taking so loudly, you can hardly call it eavesdropping. Their gossip was entertaining. The food was good...really good. I had the Graceland with turkey bacon. Everything, was great but especially the French toast. My kids ordered the kids' chicken and waffles. The chicken was really tasty. Nothing was very hot. The unfortunate parts 1.) There was one guy waiting all the tables...there were five. He did his best and was sociable with everyone...maybe even too social. 2.) He spilled a tray of drinks on my chest and lap. He put the creamer down and spilled a little coffee, a root beer float and water all over me. These were drinks for others, but he was clearly trying to save time. He told us to move to another table, as there was water all over ours and the booth seats. He apologized. I did have to ask for napkins to dry myself off. He didn't offer to comp anything, not one thing. He didn't send the manager over or anything. I was so mortified, everyone watched what happened, so I didn't press the matter. read more

We had intended to try another restaurant that was in the area but that didn't work out. So, we drove down Sudley Road to see if anything there caught our eye. That's how we came across Juke Box Diner. This diner has been around for quite some time. That told us that they still get customers coming in. We were here around 5 p.m. on a Saturday. When we entered, we noticed that the place was kept clean. Also, there were four booths that were occupied, with plenty of empty ones. No one works the host stand. It appears that servers are expected to greet and seat customers. To let them know customers are waiting, a buzzer (of sorts) goes off. Our server then came over and led us to a booth. We looked over the menu. I noticed that they serve breakfast items all day. Thus, I opted for a "create your own omelet". I chose to add American cheese, tomatoes, and bacon to mine. To drink, I had sweet iced tea. After taking my order, the server came back to ask me if I wanted hash browns or the cubed (not sure what they are called) potatoes. I chose the hash browns. She also asked if I wanted bread or an English muffin. I chose the English Muffin. My husband ordered a Fanta. To eat, he chose the "plain Jane Burger" with fries. Service from the kitchen was very slow. The other customers had left. We noticed that they got some takeout orders. When a worker came out of the kitchen, my husband asked where our food was. They said it was coming very soon. As for the food, my husband looked at my omelet and said he didn't think it was made properly. Still, it was okay, if not perfectly made. The hash browns were on the dry side. The English muffin was okay (not a "Thomas" one). As for my husband's meal, the burger was a bit overcooked, and the toppings were disappointing except for the pickle slices. Would we come back? Only if we're in the area for another reason. Lunch time, place is almost empty. Service was slow and inattentive, but maybe just not enough people? I mean it was almost empty. The steak and cheese was good. The coleslaw was great, real, shredded coleslaw. Unfortunately, the milkshake wasn't great. It was more like thick milk, either too much milk when it was made, or it was blended into oblivion. It was just like drinking, melted ice cream. Not a place that gives positive vibes. I think if you're looking for a diner, Silver diner would be a better option. More people, more servers, same food. We came here, family of five, on a rainy Saturday. Food was delicious and the service was even better!! The fish and chips came with 3 small pieces of fish... except the kitchen switched one of the pieces of fish with a chicken finger from another persons chicken and waffles. While I was ordering the same fried chicken sandwich, I asked the waiter whether it was a whole cutlet and shared my last experience with chicken fingers made to look like a whole chicken cutlet at a retro type diner? He assured me it was a whole chicken cutlet. When I realized it was the same diner, after talking to another waiter, he offered to change my order to a grill chicken instead of the fried sandwich. Although it was still chicken fingers made to look like a patty, it was better than the fried chicken I ordered at the Annandale location. The diner, service, and location were good. Friends recommended this place so we all met for dinner. I love a good Greek diner, but it was totally empty when we got there. Didn't matter as its the food that should be the star. Ordered the chicken and steak kabob platter and it was really good! A little gristle on the NY strip, but still flavorful along with the chicken. I loved their tzatziki sauce, I put it on everything. My husband and I have been coming to the Juke Box Diner for around five years now and the food and service is always GREAT!! The staff are always personable and well --Like family!! However, tonight was different. Our server Eric was excellent and funny as always!!! But a new server named Salina was very unprofessional with Eric in front of the entire restaurant. Eric even tried to simmer the situation down, but she continued to be disrespectful and loud and let him know he was NOT her manager. Obviously, Salina does not understand that she is a representation of the Juke Box Diner. If it wasn't for my husband and I knowing the restaurant staff and food quality this could have been our last visit. We came here for some late night yumminess. Typical diner food with fantastic customer service. The Oreo milkshake was excellent as are the fries with gravy (disco fries). OMG, we tried Juke Box Diner for the second time only to be disappointed again. There was only one other customer there and the service was poor. Erich, our waiter, was rude and messed up our orders. Additionally, I have never been treated so badly by a server. Erich decided to offer his political opinion, which we didn't ask for or care to listen to. We just wanted to have a nice dinner. The service was awful and slow. At one point I had to get up are ask for refills, yet there was only one other table occupied--the place was empty. I just had the absolute BEST experience this morning at the Juke Box Diner, and it was all thanks to Eric -- hands down, the single greatest waiter I've ever met. Let me tell you a little about myself: I'm a 55-year-old fat guy who loves eating out. From hole-in-the-wall joints to fine dining, I've seen it all. And I can honestly say that no server, anywhere, has ever been as naturally engaging as Eric. He wasn't over the top or intrusive -- he was just perfectly present. When you needed him, he was there, and when you didn't, he knew to give space. And here's the best part: I brought my 83-year-old mom to breakfast, and Eric genuinely connected with her. He spoke right to her with warmth and kindness you could feel. It wasn't forced -- it was who he is. As I sat there, I noticed he was making the rounds and doing the same with everyone. He even had tables talking to each other -- now THAT'S talent! It turned breakfast into an experience. Oh, and yes, the food tasted even better because of the good vibes. Coffee was solid, had been waiting 40 minutes on service and our server (Eric) forgot to ring in our onion rings and took our order on a used napkin, not even prompting our readiness. He's kind of a huge jerk and has been really one of a kind at providing a terrible experience! Had to practically beg for a refill on coffee and water, absolutely terrible experience and the only thing that got me through was his bumbling behavior. Particularly odd towards and bordering on perverse towards women and incredibly rude towards men and seemingly prioritizing single mothers. When you think Jukebox think of a 60 year old creep freaking out the entire restaurant. Shout out Eric! When we come back we're bringing the police and maybe a health inspector. Absolutely passive aggressive the entire time and frankly if you're behaving like the way he does in the service industry you should probably get your act together. It's a diner folks. Read some reviews and have to say they annoyed me a bit. If you are up for breakfast or a sandwich, this is a nice decent diner with a 1950s theme. Noticed the gyro here has solid positive comments, too. For a diner, I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity of veggies in my vegetable omelette. My husband had an egg, bacon sandwich on rye bread. With drinks our meals came out to $30-ish. This is a decent price and pleasant food. Service has been prompt and polite both times we are here. Would have given this place a 1 for the food, but the service bumped it to two stars. We came for breakfast on Sunday and were seated right away. Our server was attentive, got our order correct, and was great with our toddler. The food was pretty terrible. Breakfast is our favorite meal and this was super disappointing. Maybe lunch is better? The watered down orange juice was the first red flag. Everything was bland - did they run out of salt and pepper in the kitchen? I got a breakfast burrito that was cold. The cheese wasn't melted, the veggies inside were raw, and the salsa made everything soggy. My side of extra crispy hashbrowns was the best part. The waffle was soggy and lacked flavor. Ok, so we are officially regulars here. This place is great, from the ambiance to the service, we have never had a bad experience/meal here. Their menu is loaded with a variety of delights (including Mediterranean dishes, Americana, breakfast all day, salads, cajun food, and more). Literally, the menu is full of options for everyone to include a fairly extensive kids menu. Like I previously mentioned, my family and I are now regulars. So far, we have not had a bill over $80. That's with a generous tip, two milkshakes (which are delicious btw), and four full plates of food. The service is prompt and attentive. The waiters (I'm sure the waitresses are too) are extremely friendly and accommodating. The best part of it all is the 50s diner atmosphere they foster and produce so well. I love the old car that hangs above the winding malt shop bar. The pictures of Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, The Rat Pack, and Elvis liter the interior walls throughout. I haven't been at night, but I bet this place looks great with the neon lights. Whether you have a large party with kids and adults or it's just you and your love looking for brunch and want to be transported back into the classic 50s, this is a great place to do it all. I was thrilled to learn that another Juke Box Diner is in Annandale as I move to the Lorton/Springfield area. Erich has always provided exceptional service that was friendly, courteous, and prompt! The atmosphere is straight out of the 50s. I'm a child of the late 50s, early 60s so I appreciate the decor! As always, the food was hot, tasty, and prompt! I had a Sunday breakfast of the "Baconator" Omelet, Home Fries, Toast, and Coffee totaling $ 18.70. Well worth it. This is most likely the first diner in my life where the food portion was so small. Never in my life have I been served only one biscuit with gravy and two eggs for $13. Oh, I almost forgot about the small grit with sprinkled chips on top, which cost an extra dollar. There were literally 4 tbsp of grits in the bowl, not counting the cheese.
