Great service great food. Accommodated our large party. Pancakes were bomb and the food came out fast. Cash only but atm inside

What a sweet diner - food was excellent & cooked perfectly ... even down to requested extra crispy bacon. Waitress was super and on top of all our needs. This place is a Warrenton gem.

Visiting Virginia for a few days and this place popped up in my search for breakfast food. VERY glad we stopped in. Clean, good ventilation and fast friendly service. Coffee was fresh and PERFECT. Food was delicious, huge portions, and reasonably priced. Very authentic diner experience. Open 24/7. Cash only. ATM on site.

Chicken fried steak with home fries and onion rings. Blueberry pancakes, bacon, and eggs

Cute, little classic diner. The menu was what you'd expect from a diner, extensive, but this wasn't overwhelming. Prices seemed very reasonable. I was going to try the hot, open-face roast beef, but they were out so I went with the chicken fried steak with home fries and onion rings. Home fries and onion rings were perfect! The chicken fried steak was fine, probably a quick deep fry and like a chopped steak. My wife had the blueberry pancakes, bacon, and eggs. What's funny is I like a thin pancake, so these looked right up my alley, but she tends to prefer the fluffier version.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, however; there was a table available so we seated ourselves.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server came right over with menus and took our drink order. BEWARE: do not order drinks before looking at the menu because breakfast meals come with coffee or hot tea. They give a very meager discount if you do not order coffee or hot tea. Rather than just charge the 50 cent difference they charge for the iced tea. The server was a bit rude but did an ok job. I ordered the "Abigail Special." The food came quickly. The omelet was hot, but the "home fries" were luke warm. The potatoes were not fried, but tasted as if they were baked then cut up into chunks. A bit of catsup helped with the dryness of the potatoes. The omelet tasted great. The sweet tea was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The table was cluttered with all kinds of items.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (see photo) Not sure if we will return.

This was by far one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. We decided to get a table…read moreoutside as it was a nice evening and we had our dog with us. Our waitress seemed friendly enough as she engaged in conversation with us about our dog and asked if she could have a milk bone and we said . She went and got water for us, which came in a nice bottle, but was then served with two nasty plastic cups that had spots all over them and chips around the rim. It took a while for her to come back around to take our drink order but when she did, we ordered specialty drinks, my husband got the Southern Jam which, after one step I could tell by the look on his face, he was disgusted by it and I got the mocktail Farmer Tan which was spicy and hard on my throat, I guess it was the chipotle. We weren't super hungry so we only ordered appetizers. We got the melting pot fries and the hot shrimp and crab dip. I guess they're trying to be unique by using Chick-fil-A fries because that's exactly what they tasted like and you could barely taste the truffle or the Parmesan. The shrimp and crab dip came out and was a bright orange. It almost looked like it was supposed to be a buffalo dip. We've never seen any type of crab dip like this before. It had absolutely no flavor. We couldn't taste any crab it's only big chunks of shrimp, but again after three servings of it, there was no flavor and it was impossible to wash any of this food down with the nasty drinks. There were three other tables filled while we were outside, and the sun was beaming down. One of the customers got up and tried to turn the fan on with no luck. It didn't work and it seemed like the waitress had disappeared. We didn't see her in a while. I'm finally I had to go to the bar and ask for the check myself once she came out with it. My husband gave her his card and when she came back, we discovered that we had been rung up with someone else's bill, which was $30 more than ours. I then went up to the window again, and the bartender was ringing up somebody else so he couldn't help me and told me that the waitress would fix it. She then came out with the correct receipt, but we still had no evidence of the the wrong charge on our card which my husband checked his account and had already been charged for. So I went back up to the window again and asked for a receipt showing that the credit was made or avoid or something, and the waitress was getting flustered because she didn't know how to do that and had to call someone else over to help her. They said they've avoided the transaction, but couldn't print anything out showing it just said the charge has been made so now we have to monitor our account to make sure that this was indeed credited to us. After having a horrible food experience, and then being charged for the wrong bill, we will never be back here again. Oh and we never got the milk bone for a dog either. UPDATE: I see the owner has responded and I do understand how a bank works because I used to actually work for one. # 1) I have not been calling you. #2) The majority of the review was about the food, drinks and service. Get your facts straight before you do a public unprofessional response. All the more reason to not recommend this business to anyone. The right thing to do would have just been to apologize for the bad experience like any professional business owner which you're clearly not.

Omg so many thoughts on this experience…read more I'm so glad i didn't immediately know it was a restaurant located in a hotel. This prob would have deterred me, even a little bit. The Apple map directions here confused me a little due to this, but parking was really plentiful so that's a huge plus! I went on a Sunday morning and lo and behold there was a hole farmers market or pop up set up all through haymarket! Busy weekend for a brunch but haymarket is SUCH a cute little vibe and town with so many hidden gems, like this one!! Literally every single item I saw waiters bring out from the kitchen looked so scrumptious, every person around us immediately began digging in and enjoying their meals...and honestly, no crumbs were left behind pretty much every time. We started ordering a yummy cocktail. I was really in the mood for the Paloma with grapefruit juice but sadly they were out of grapefruit juice fortunately, they had plenty cocktails available that were not explicitly on the menu! I ended up having a delicious espresso martini, prepared, right and honestly, I would have had another!! Not too sweet. Not creamy. And with 3 beans. Impeccable no notes. I ordered the red House breakfast. Man those home potatoes were so delicious....they clearly cooked them seasoned deliciously and then flash fried, so crunchy!!!! Amazing. I found that their execution on their meals was really impressive. My sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly and paired so yummy with the toast. The bacon had delicious flavor too. I ordered a biscuit because I had heard that their biscuits were really yummy but unfortunately they did not have their bacon biscuit so it was just a classic biscuit. It was good, certainly dense and clearly homemade. My girlfriend got the poutine. Looked so delicious and was really enjoyed! The gravy was thick and flavorful! We sat down and enjoyed plenty of conversation and a really nice environment. Nobody rushed us, service was just the right amount of attentive without interrupting conversation constantly, and the floor to ceiling windows let in beautiful natural light and views of the town. It was the perfect brunch spot for a low-key, but delicious meal. Just a hair out of the way without being too far. I came out with a really good friend of mine to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary with her and it was the perfect possible location. Shout out to the staff for being so welcoming and kind, and even taking a picture of us when we asked to commemorate the occasion. I'm sure they are used to people walking in to the hotel lobby looking as confused as I was looking for red House Tavern.

I don't really care for asparagus, and the waitress said I could substitute a few different things including... wait for it... onion rings!!! I was like, "That's it!!"We got our food and, my gosh, everything was spot on! On top of that, the onion rings were cooked a little more than the app, and OMG!! They may have been the best onion rings outside of Harraseeket Lunch & Lobster in Freeport, Maine. They were absolutely scrumptious. The steak was tender and beautiful, the potatoes were perfection, and my wife said the asparagus was delightful. I almost forgot. OK, I have now tried this place twice. Both orders were "to go"…read more On my first visit, I ordered the club Sandwich with a side of fruit and was given french fries and no fruit. I didn't discover the issue until I left with my food and I didn't have time to go back. The sandwich was good. They didn't ask what kind of bread I wanted, but I asked them my choices and I switched from White to Rye. There were no napkins provided in my go bag. On my second visit, I ordered the chicken and waffles. I checked the bag for my napkin before I drove off. The chicken was delicious. It was well prepared, juicy and very flavorful. The pancakes were good. I do have a problem with food service low level pancake/waffle syrup that is mostly caramel color and high fructose corn syrup. They can give people choices if they want real maple syrup or just pancake syrup. Some people may prefer the pancake syrup. I'm fine with saying we give you one packet of syrup, but you have to pay for additional if they get the good stuff- real maple syrup. The biggest problem is the rookie move of putting freshly fried chicken directly into Styrofoam. Unbeknownst to me, under the chicken was a gaping hole where all of the maple syrup drained into my lap requiring me to drive 40 minutes back home and change clothes. Although the chicken on top was delicious, I avoided the one on the bottom that melted the Styrofoam into it. I really appreciate them cooking my chicken fresh, but thoughts into their takeout container must be considered. I have not eaten inside the restaurant, so I cannot speak about service while dining in. The ambience is OK for a breakfast place but I think it could be so much more. The food is really good here so I think the ambience could step up to match the food. I really want this place to be successful. It's great to have other options for takeout other than the typical fast food restaurants on this part of the road. I'm not sure if I will go back.
