Such a great random assortment or food and we didnt spend more than 20

This is what i think of when i hear diner and candy did not disappoint. This was the perfect stop to waste some time before wineries opened and also to get a quick base for the copious amounts of drinking i was about to do. what i love about a diner is the ability to order everything and anything no matter the time. Case and point, i had one pancake and a hot dog, yes its childish but so what im an adult my momma was not there i can order what i want lol (dont tell my momma) the diner was small cute, quaint, and everyone there was super helpful and no one batted an eye at the weird orders coming from my table. On top of that the food was just great diner food the way you want it. My pancake was fluffy and buttery and bonus points for having kings syrup. They even toasted my hot dog bun. I will forever sing Candy's praises.

Candys is the type of place you didnt know you needed till you got there. Was in the area visiting wineries and looking for a place to put down a good base before tasting our way through the day and Candys was close and had great reviews. I didnt need a lot of food and I loved that i could order one of this or one of that.. I landed on french toast and bacon and it was the diner food I needed it to be. The servers were lovely and the space was quaint, which explains why the parking lot was full! Seems like Candy's is everyones go to diner.

The Farmhand (with omelette in background)

A few friends and I stopped by Candy's on a Saturday morning for a late breakfast/early lunch. Candy's was full, but we were quickly seated. I ordered the Farmhand (omelet over a bed of home fries, peppers, and sausages and smothered in gravy) - an excellent recommendation from our waitress. My three friends ordered other breakfast foods, and they all enjoyed it. The four of us split a giant pancake for dessert. It was great and was perfect for four people to split (a quarter of their pancake is a similar size to the pancakes I'm used to!) The service was phenomenal. Our waitress told us stories, was sassy, and kept our table well-stocked with coffee, condiments, and whatever else we needed. As expected, our food was heavy but everything tasted fresh and home cooked. In the end our bill was much less that what we expected to pay for a meal with this caliber of service and amount of food.

Ordered the pancakes, eggs, French toast ham steak!

Small diner. Friendly staff and helpful. Stopped in for breakfast before a ride. Serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day long. Menu has a lot to choose from. Desserts look amazing.

Farmer's hand- what a masterpiece!

Quality home-cooked meal with an overly welcoming atmosphere... even for a bunch of city-slickers on their way to the Shenandoah Valley for some hiking. The 80s era tv and the bustling lunch counter had me smiling as soon as I walked in. Candy's diner most certainly pays homage to the "no frills" diner experience. Favorite part... a little bit of life advice on the way out. As my group checked out I was informed: "Son, I'm going to teach you a life lesson... you can't let these women pay for themselves." My meal was called the "farmer's hand". It was a base layer of home fries, an omelette on top all smothered in biscuit gravy. A casual 3k calories was the perfect way to start my day in Woodstock! Nice people. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful country. I'm a fan of the Shenandoah Valley.

Do you like living with regret? Then you should definitely bypass this diner. You not stop. You should not order the 8" diameter fluffy oatmeal pancakes with the homemade maple syrup. You should not order the "Farmhand" - a cheesy omelet laid to rest over crispy-tender home fries, peppers, tomatoes, sausage, and lovingly drowned in the best sausage gravy this side of I81. Keep driving. But know that someday, on your deathbed, not stopping at Candy's Diner will fall right between wishing you'd spent more time with the grandkids and wishing you'd finished up that last season of Gray's Anatomy.

Amazing Oatmeal Pancake - incredible Chipped Beef Gravy (we call it Creamed Chipped Beef in our family - and this is as good if not better than what my grandmother used to make!) Wonderful, happy service! When we were walking in, we were told by leaving guests that we had picked a great restaurant! Our pickiest son kept saying 'Best food ever!' A must if you are in this area!

3 Egg Meat Lovers omelette, grits, & wheat toast

Just what I was looking for on our road trip. A good local breakfast. I had the meat lovers 3 egg omelette smothered (sausage gravy) with grits and my bride had the western omelette with home fries (true home fried potatoes as my wife would say). All of it was fabulous. Servers were friendly and efficient. Highly recommend if you are in the area for breakfast.

Old fashioned breakfast dive. Inexpensive and good food. Nothing fancy or special but like I said, old fashioned breakfast dive.

Great breakfast spot serving traditional items, cooked to order, fresh and satisfying. The prices are good too. Did not try lunch there.

The waitress was very friendly and very accommodating with recommendations for dietary restrictions. The fried chicken is an absolute must.. perfectly fried and crispy and good balance of flavors. We tried a few other things that was pretty average like the open faced turkey sandwich and the salmon and mash potatoes. I would also recommend getting the gravy on the side and eating everything with it... not exactly sure what is in it but keep doing your thing Southern Kitchen. Will definitely be coming through again the next time we are in town.

We were seated quickly and we noticed our waitress was Slow on getting to the tables for drinks and after about 10 minutes she came by and got our drinks. Upon her getting close and speaking it was very apparent she was very intoxicated and I remarked that it was sad about her condition. As we waited for our food we watched her interactions with other tables and she had problems remembering what table was which. She delivered food to the wrong tables and dropped other food on the floor trying to deliver it. Her fellow waitresses were actually calling her out in the middle of the dining room telling her to get her act together. When she delivered the food the hamburger steak platter was literally a dry hamburger patty that was old and had a thimble of gravy. the mashed potatoes were instant and had been poorly mixed because the powder was still dry in the middle. The glazed carrots were old soggy and brown ( see the picture) . We never got a bill because she just disappeared completely. We went to pay and the cashier was able to look up the order and we spoke to her about the waitress needing some help and her condition and all she would say is " we will try"

I asked for mine with egg whites, which added $2.95 to the price. The food came within a decent time after ordering. The plates were overflowing with food. And it all looked great. And it tasted great too. The omelette was filled with mushroom, onion and tomato. Surprisingly, although not mentioned on the menu, the omelette also included American cheese. Really good omelette. The home fries were well prepared and there was a huge amount on both plates. Another success. The English muffin was toasted well and lightly buttered. We're just passing through and unlikely to return here, but if I lived in the area I likely would. They were advertising a Friday night special of 2 crab leg clusters, boiled shrimp, and a couple of sides for about $25. Sounded intriguing. Service was fine, but not noteworthy. The restaurant is clear "diner" vibe, which I like.

We certainly came at a good time! Fries, Onion Rings and sandwich all perfect. I miss the kosher dill from my deli days in Los Angeles & I brought my horseradish, just in case, but the Swiss cheese was melted on my fingers, so I didn't stop.
