This Silver Diner is awesome! Newly designed and built, this restaurant keeps with the cool classic aesthetic and has ample parking. My traditional breakfast was delicious, except the eggs were burnt... the potatoes were crispy though. The bacon was crispy but a little to maple/sweet for my taste. English muffin ($0.59 up charge instead of biscuit) was very delicious also. The coffee was good, but definitely not worth $4 for a plain coffee... Extremely cooked food My burger was more overdone than my granddaddy's lungs. With that said everything else we ate was good. Our food was hot and fresh when they brought it to us. The staff treat people extremely well. They regularly come to your table making sure your food was to your liking. The diner itself is really clean and well maintained. The weirdest thing that's happened is that every time I come here they've burnt some toast. It smells like bread smoke, and it doesn't even contain nicotine so it's only bad. Jokes aside it's a Silver Diner. Silver Diners have pretty good food. It's not a must try, but it's decent enough that if you're hungry I'd recommend here. read more

Horrible service and management. Brought out cold food, rock hard fries, incorrect meal which we had to wait to be remade and apparently manager said "you got all your food" umm yes we did cold, hard and after waiting. No apologies nothing. Never again. Many other brunch places to give our money to. Will stick to first watch or the new another broken egg cafe in the future. The location is very new with a large parking lot, but getting in and out of it can be a little confusing. It's not entirely two-way. Leaving takes you through a slightly confusing one way loop. Nevertheless, twas the evening before the blizzard of 2026, and the restaurant was mostly empty. I started with the Chunky Monkey Banana milkshake which was.. well, disappointing. Almost entirely liquidity. Not enough solids. Way too much milk. Disappointed I also had a blood orange sunset, which was good, refreshing, sort of like a reverse Tequila Sunset. The meatloaf itself was good but the pate was hit or miss. There wasn't much meat loaf, mostly mashed potatoes, string onions, and corn. I felt for the price the meatloaf serving size was just not quite enough. It seemed like it was deliberately hidden in there. I was expecting something more. The Kickin Crab and Corn Chowder, sans description, was also..unexpected. It was an option with the meatloaf and contained a lot of pepper. Black pepper. Not the ... Chesapeake Favorite "Kickin" expectation.. We had a mimosa, good, a little weak. Overall, it's an ok place to grab a meal, the menu has many options, they have milkshakes and martinis of sorts, not a full bar, unfortunately, you can't get milkshakes with alcohol, which I think is a tremendous hole in their menu, but I found everything to just be a little rough around the edges. Silver Diner is a family favorite. We stopped in after my daughter's track meet and our server must have been a bit busy because the bartender took our whole order when he original came for drinks. I don't believes he gave his name but he had curly hair and glasses. This was probably one of the best service received during my visit to Silver Diner. We tried the new smoky bacon with my tried and true French toast. I love the touch of added strawberries. Needless to say, my plate was CLEAN. The menu was handed over quickly, and the waiter came by fast to take my order. went with the chicken melt (with some customization) and the lamb shakshuka. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The shakshuka had really good flavor and was served with soft naan, which paired perfectly. My husband and I came for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the service and our food. I have dietary restrictions and our server Nicole took good care of me. I appreciate her attentiveness. She was very kind to my boys with autism, and she was an attentive server, refilling drinks without asking, and coming by to check on us after the food was brought out. We chatted a bit and learned she drives from Burke to this South Riding location, and this isn't even her FT job. I told her how the restaurant sits on the very spot where my old employer and office used to be (M.C. Dean)! We always have a great experience here; even though it's not the closest one to our house, it's worth the drive. Plus, a full bar is a nice bonus too! So glad a Silver Diner opened up closer to home! Plenty of parking is available. Upon entering, the hostess was very kind and we were seated in a timely manner. The restaurant is clean and organized. Restrooms in the back are also clean. Our server was kind and helpful. We enjoyed our meal, each dish was flavorful and well seasoned. Nothing was overly salty or too greasy. Portions are generous as well. Silver Diner is nostalgic for me, reminds me of my High School days. Their menu has definitely changed but I enjoyed what they offered back then and now. Everything great but for a diner has the worst coffee like Starbucks. Even the metro 29 diner has much better coffee.

I've been to this location twice and both times I got the medium hangar steak with chimichurri sauce, eggs over easy and a side of pork sausage links. Both times, they hit the spot. I'm pretty impressed with this location and the food. Service is ok, nothing great and nothing bad... Just folks going about the day at work I suppose. But the food... Two thumbs up. read more

This is a brand new location of Silver Diner. Silver Diner does have a diner menu, although with more of a high-end prep and detail. The food was excellent, but the service was all intermittent, but being brand new I will give them four stars. I anticipate within a couple months we will revisit and they will have moved up to five. read more

Fantastic, upscale diner with nicer food than expected and an old school diner ambiance (lots of chrome and mirrors). We were quickly seated, service was friendly if a little slow. Our server was also the bartender and we was over sat but that isn't his fault. My kids love the milkshakes and pancakes. My wife and I appreciate the full bar and nicer food choices. This was our second Silver Diner experience (different locations both times) and the food is excellent. We will definitely seek out Silver Diners when we are in the DC region. read more

Silver Dollar Chantilly At 1 PM after walking and swimming during the morning, I found myself very hungry and seeking a highly rated place where I could get eggs and a delicious breakfast. I have not been to a Silver Diner in 20 years, and at the time it had not impressed me, but seeing the yelp review of 4.4 stars for this 2 1/2 year-old Silver Diner on the edge of Chantilly South Riding, we decided to take a chance - and I'm so glad we did! We were greeted graciously and handed heavy silverware wrapped in white and red cloth napkins. Our ice water served in Glass, and the meals on Square China plates. The Whole wheat multigrain sourdough toast was both crunchy and chewy, full of seeds, and definitely not like any institutional store-bought bread. The lumberjack breakfast was fabulous. I loved the thick chewy bacon slabs, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, pancakes, thick sausages, and the delightful option of having a fresh fruit cup versus Home fries (you can also substitute a green salad for the home fries- but they did try them from my husband's plate and they were very nice). Elena was a wonderfully attentive server and was happy to customize anything we'd like - my husband wanted a 3 egg omelette versus 2 (made with Amish cage-free eggs), we both had crispy bacon, and well toasted toast. We were happy to hear, but another silver diner is moving into Gainesville, and look forward to trying that one out when it's open! This was Far superior to IHOP, Denny's, Cracker Barrel - with a fun retro 50s atmosphere. read more

Even though Yelp reviews imply this place has been open for 10 months, by my experience this morning, it felt more like 10 days. It certainly has the potential to be a 4 or even 5 star diner/experience; mine wasn't quite there. The diner is bright and shiny - almost antiseptic - and extremely clean. The menu goes on and on with interestingly crafted variations on diner classics. We unfortunately had plenty of time to scan our menus, because it took over 10 minutes for a server to greet us. He apologized, saying he hadn't been notified that our table had been given to him to pick up, even though he was serving all the tables around us and had walked past us several times. I think he was relatively new and still learning the routine. We ordered coffee and tea - the tea came out as hot water in a cup and a teabag handed separately, with the cup on a saucer. My coffee came out as just a mug and a couple of creams, no saucer. During the entire meal, I was never given or even offered a refill on coffee. We ordered the Bay Benedicts, essentially the crab cake Benedicts, which come with a side of fresh fruit. These did come out quickly. I hadn't read the menu item description carefully enough to note that the egg is actually over easy as opposed to poached. The texture was unexpected, though the yolk was still runny as desired. The crabcake was almost all meat, no filler. The English Muffin was soft and doughy and should have been toasted quite a bit more. I did not think the corn kernels in the mix would work, but they did. There were different amounts of Old Bay on the eggs on each plate. This is one of those places where I feel my opinion would be based on finding the entrees that best appeal to me over several visits, and that sampling more menu items over several visits would give me a better overall feel for the place. read more

We came by around lunch time on a Sunday. I was not prepared for how busy it was! We had a short wait for a table, which wasn't an issue. We never really had a consistent waiter and had trouble getting drinks at the beginning. It just seemed like they were really overwhelmed with people. The food was excellent though! They talk a lot on their menu about having high quality local ingredients and it shows. I had the spinach and mushroom omelet and it came with a bagel and potatoes. We've been to this Silver Diner many times. Service is always good, food is usually good. I've been there on two separate occasions when I've. chosen to order the short ribs, which is not always offered. Regrettably on both occasions I've been disappointed in this dish. It's advertised as slow cooked for 72 hours, and the picture on the menu looks fantastic. The trouble is that on both occasions the meat was dried out and riddle with fat around the edges. Braised short ribs are suppose to break apart with a fork and melt in your mouth . The 4 round slices on top of the bed of potatoes and beets were tough and dry. This is not what short ribs are suppose to be. It's a shame because the potatoes, beets, sauce are delicious. I complained and they offered me something else, which declined and they took the charge off my bill. read more

Came in one day for a late breakfast. Silver Diner serves breakfast all day - so it was not an issue. I requested to be seated at a table and looked over the menu. I note the Corned Beef Hash on the menu - and inquired as to whether it was canned hash or scratch-made. Turns out it is scratch-made! Yaaaaayyy!!! Got the hash with two eggs over easy - comes with breakfast potatoes and a biscuit. Plus coffee and water. Overall, the hash was good, the biscuit was flaky, the potatoes were hot and crispy, and the eggs were cooked properly. Coffee was hot and average. Service was good! #SilverDiner read more

I've dined here a couple of times now and everything has been pretty consistent since the first visit when they first opened late last year. The menu is very different from the Silver Diner ages ago. There are healthier options on the menu now instead of the greasy diner food you would be accustomed to. The service at this location is outstanding. Very friendly and welcoming staff who are helpful if you cannot decide what to order. Portions and pricing are fair. The food is fresh and tasty. Great place for a family meal. read more

It's been a while since I last visited a Silver diner because it usually has a typical diner atmosphere. However, this new location is refreshing, clean, and vibrant. I appreciate the fact that they have a private outdoor patio. They also did not have jukeboxes on our tables. The booths were quite small, which made it cramped for the customers. The menu at this new location is well-organized and offers a wide range of options. Although, the kids menu was not very impressive, they do have a kids club program though. Personally, I enjoyed the customization aspect of building my own burger, while my girlfriend liked the fresh fruit that came with her breakfast platter. However, our child didn't enjoy the hotdog due to its hard bun, she also tried the dog, chewed it then spit it out, devoured the applesauce and ended up eating my fries and our friend's fruit cup. Overall, I believe this place is suitable for a nice family meal or a gathering with friends. The convenient location, extensive menu, and availability of alcoholic beverages add to its inviting and bright ambiance. Despite having a new server, we managed to get through the basic questions and received follow-up assistance from a team member. I believe this restaurant will become one of our regular choices, and I suggest sharing your meal orders with your kids and bringing fresh snacks to complement the experience. read more
