Corned beef hash, rye toast, eggs over medium, and grilled tomatoes
    Jenny S.

Friendly service (especially for 7am!) and tasty breakfast with large portions. The biscuits and gravy were peppery (which is how I like them, but beware if you don't love spice) and the omelette was nice and fluffy. They had grilled tomatoes which was unusual and a nice surprise! The only bad thing was the coffee. Really didn't like the coffee: it was weak and tasted cheap. But the place was jumpin' on a Saturday morning! Nice little pit stop on our road trip.

Liver & Onions, sides of pickled beets (soooo yummy and sweet) and baked potato with a side of sour cream

So glad I happened upon this place as a pit stop on a road trip to Shenandoah. Cheery service, beyond tasty food (ESPECIALLY for the price), and a small-town, rugged cozy feel and aesthetic. I suggest the liver and onions for a full, satisfying meal, but my partner got the Rueben sammich which was MOUTHWATERING, with no shortage of cheese melting out the sides. Only comment is that they seem to have missed the two calendar turns since 2020, as they still have their "TRUMP 2020" signs up. If that kind of thing perturbs you, I'd recommend skipping this place, but I didn't mind, just thought it was humorous.

This is a fun little place that we found on a whim. The onion rings were out of this world. I also had a patty tuna melt the kids have cheeseburgers and pork chop . Everybody was more than happy with their meal with fresh bath was friendly I wish I had the time to stay stick around all day and have a few drinks some of the locals look like a lot of fun.

New year's eve prime rib special (fantastic! )

Love this place! Great staff and wonderful food! Always a perfect "go to" place It's right in Marshall off of exit 28 on I-66, quick and easy, yet sooooo yummy every time!

From the moment we sat down, I was handed a personalized menu noting my birthday -- and truly, details matter. We started with a few apps, delicious cocktails, and of course, their wine program is out of this world, really showcasing the beauty of Virginia wine. You can't go wrong here. The smash burger was a hit, and I especially loved the asparagus and gazpacho. It felt like a little adventure around the farm, with a serious slam dunk on comfort food. Best part: they didn't flinch when I mentioned my allergies. They went out of their way to curate dishes for me, even off-menu, which I appreciated so much. Anytime you're in wine country or just desperate to escape the concrete jungle for a meal this is your place.

The service was superb, attentive and knowledgeable. We started with cocktails which thankfully were not overly sweet. The starters were excellent - tomato & peach salad, fried corn ribs, and loaded crispy potatoes were especially good. For dinner we had the lamb meatballs, bison steak and Cobia. The Cobia was a little overdone and dry, as were the lamb meatballs, but the tomato curry sauce on the pasta was superb. It paired well with a nice Italian Barolo. The deserts were very tasty - a seasonal berry sundae and a deep dish brownie. Overall we loved the service and the fresh local ingredients. But the entrees didn't live up to our expectations after the starters. Next time we'll try the tasting menu, as I suspect that part of the menu is getting more love and attention from the chef

They weren't very busy when we got there, maybe about 4 tables sat. The menu looked quite nice, plenty of appetizing dishes to try. Service throughout was the issue though. We read reviews prior to coming here about the service being an issue, but we decided to give them a try anyway and we can say, the reviews are legit, they definitely need to work on service here!!! But the food was pretty darn good! Here are the positives - The food we tasted was pretty darn good! Their biscuit basket was nice, but the apple butter and the herbed butter in it were both amazing! Those biscuits were so darn good we saved one for dessert to enjoy with their apple butter. Their Grand Dad's Pastrami Sandwich was incredible! The pretzel bun was so soft and flavorful... then mixed with the mustard and their excellent corned beef and those perfectly caramelized onions and cheese - it made one heck of a great sandwich! The chips that came with the sandwich were on the dry/basic side, so they weren't worth the calories. The cole slaw was just 'ok' too. But the sandwich made up for those. Their tomato soup was made very nicely... definitely worth trying! Overall... there are so many options, so why come back? 2Kyles is right next to this place and they have been consistently very good, as we've been there a few times. Sorry, but until they fix their issues with delayed service, the kitchen lacking in food prep (we overheard the chef telling them many times about how to properly prepare dishes), and front of house - I doubt we'll return.
