Convenient location off of Route 66 in a super cute small town along Main Street. Lots of parking and inside seating (dining room & bar), as well as an outdoor dining area. Great classic diner vibe. First and foremost the service was incredible. Kendra was our server. She was very attentive and super friendly. She constantly checked in on us and was just a delight. We went right for food and skipped apps and drinks. Ordered the steak salad (medium rare) that was perfectly cooked. The dressing was tasty too. Also ordered the chicken club which came with fries. The fries were good. The sandwich was really tasty! Chicken seasoned to perfection and with the bacon, avocado, and cheese it was the perfect balance of flavors working together. The bread was buttery and toasted. Delicious. We were traveling and stopped here. There is a 6% county tax on tour tab called 'restaurant tax' which is in addition to the other taxes. Just FYI. Passing through, looked up restaurants, and saw this one was conveniently located . Small diner-like setting. The waiter (wish I remembered his name. Young, tall gentleman) was outstanding. The food...WOW. I was not expecting it to be that delicious. Salmon cooked perfectly. There was nothing left of the chowder when we finished. The grits were made spot on perfect. Blue Mountain Grill is a new-ish restaurant in Marshall, VA. It occupies the space formerly filled by an Italian joint called: "Joe's Pizza." When I visited - the old Joe's Pizza sign was still up out front - and a "Blue Mountain Grill" sign was affixed to the sign supports. Inside - it look as if they kept much of the old decor and layout - I never visited Joe's Pizza - but the inside of the Blue Mountain Grill is not new. The menu is a combination of sandwiches, salads, seafood dishes, and a few odds and ends. I ordered a bowl of the Clam Chowder and the Crabcake sandwich with fries. My server asked if I wanted the chowder first - to which I replied in the affirmative. I was initially sitting at the bar - but when the chowder came out - given the way the bar is constructed - you can't get close to your bowl - due to the trim on the edge of the bar. I ended up moving to a table to eat. The chowder was solid. But I felt like it needed to be a bit on the creamier side. Flavor-wise - it tasted fine. The crab cake sandwich was solid - it came with a remoulade sauce, lettuce, red onions, and tomato. The fries were cooked perfectly - hot and crispy. It was rather warm and stuffy inside - so not sure what was going on there. While it was nice outside - the inside needed some air conditioning. There is quite a bit of seating here - between the bar, the inside dining area, as well as some seating outside out back. Service was decent for the most part. I did have to go and find my server when I was ready to leave - as she was engaged in rolling utensils into napkins and doing other server stuff. I inquired as to whether they accept Apple Pay for payment - they currently do not. Had to pay the old analog way with a physical credit card. #BlueMountainGrill read more

The ambiance is very much like a diner with nicely prepared and presented food. I had a bowl of excellent homemafe New England Clam Chowder. My wife had the steak sandwich. She said the meat and roll were excellent. I also had the wedge salad. It was fresh and the blue cheese dressing hit the mark. I don't feel like this amount of food was worth $16. I made my own french fries plenty of times and I'm pretty sure that's not even entire $1 potato worth of fries. It taste fine, but nothing taste too great when you feel ripped off. I really like their pasta dish with seafood, but even that is fairly overpriced. This isn't a field and main style food and you're definitely not getting an amount that feels worth it. We've gotten take out quite a few times. I'm here, but unfortunately, I think this time will be our last. The portions are getting smaller and smaller. read more

Wonderful local spot. Reasonably priced. The food is always very good, fresh & good portions. Great service- Try the bruschetta - I promise you it's one of the best I ever ate. We are from NJ & know good Italian food. Best BLT I ever had ! Wonderful burger & Chicken Piccata . Delicious desserts- very good carrot cake! We recently noticed lots of elderly going there , likely because of pricing but why wouldn't many younger people go here? It's not new & modern & bright interior but is clean & well maintained . Outside patio is nice as it doesn't face a main roadway & they have a covered area as well. Highly recommend & a favorite of mine as there aren't many places serving fresh & quality foods around here. There are about a half dozen that we frequent in the area. Went on a Friday at 5 and there was no one there but by 6 the place was packed!!! Service was ok, seemed like they only had two people working the tables, one being the person behind the bar who stepped out to wait on tables when it got busy. Food was good! I got the steak salad, I wish I had asked for dressing on the side because it was a little drenched and I wish there was more blue cheese. Other members of the party got a burger and one of the other salads. Overall a good experience. The restaurant looks similar to when it was Joes. Ate here because it was close to the place I was staying while attending the Solheim Cup. Very fresh food and can even accommodated a gluten free diet. Very impressed with all of the options on the menu and the beverages from the bar. The wait staff were very friendly and prompt, providing great customer service. There were 4 of us and we ate here 3 nights; all of us choosing a different item each time. Food was delicious for us all. Fish and chips as good as they get with light crispy breading on the fresh cod and fries were perfectly cooked. The Filet was cooked per request, tender, and tasty. New Orleans pasts had just the right amount of heat, plenty of protein and plenty of food! Our appetizer was calamari - probably some of the best we've found in NVA. My turkey burger and fries was suppose to be a house favorite. Unfortunately the whole plate came out barely warm, the bun was not fresh and tasted hard and dry. The turkey burger didn't have an independent taste. The fries were dense with mediocre flavor, but might have been better if hot. The staff was nice and accommodating but I didnt send my food back, feeling that there was obviously a quality disconnect if the the chef sent it out that way in the first place. Why bother?
