Great service, tasty food, value was on point. No complaints at all, I can see why there are great reviews.

Tacos - Chicken / Steak and Chorizo / Al Pastor

Tried Mama Chave and ordered a mix of tacos--Chicken, Steak & Chorizo, and Al Pastor. They were good and definitely worth the money. The handmade corn tortillas were a great touch and really added to the overall flavor. I wouldn't say they're the best tacos I've ever had--I've had some incredible ones in California and Texas--but for this area, they're definitely a standout. The Al Pastor had a nice bit of sweetness, and the Chorizo had great flavor. If you're local and looking for solid tacos at a good price, Mama Chave is absolutely worth checking out.

Spicy salsa, you have to ask for it! Yummmy

This is the real deal!!!! Authentic, simple and fresh ingredients all made from scratch. Seriously just all delicious!!! We ordered the mixed fajitas, my husband and I, split the plate and it was more than enough food for both of us, it came with freshly made delicious corn tortillas! We also ordered a chicken tamale and a pork and bean popusa, both very delicious. We stopped here to eat right before we took our scenic drive up the Skyline Drive. Don't pass this place, stop and eat here, you will be glad you did!

Steak Torte

I haven't been more ecstatic about a new restaurant in Front Royal in a very long time. This has become a weekly visit for us. The food is incredible and the portions are huge for the price point. Staff is super friendly and inviting. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. If you live here or even if passing through this is becoming a must stop and eat place.

Wonderful new spot in Front Royal. I've only had their jalapeno and cheese, and pork and cheese pupusas, and steak torta so far. Two visits in under a week. The price to proportion ratio is generous and the quality is excellent.

Horchata, chips and salsa.

The chicken is excellent! Get the green sauce for dipping! Tried the pasta with beef, also very good!

Stopped here on the way back from Harrisonburg VA. Our daughter recommended this place. My husband…read morehad a burrito and I had a combo meal. Perfect for the undecided. Food was great. Prices are reasonable. Restaurant is spacious and clean. Lots of decorations to provide that Mexican restaurant feel. Staff were friendly and efficient. This is a great stop to satisfy your hunger and get some rest before continuing your trip home. I strongly recommend you stop here and give this place a try. Must mention plenty of free parking and my husband loved the homemade coleslaw dip that came with the chips. Finally, they are open until 10:00pm. Perfect for the late night trip.

They had a $5.50 lime margarita special....did not need the 2nd one but yummy. I ordered the Rancho Nuevo Fajitas - there was plenty for two people to fully enjoy and still bring some home. Wonderful flavors, the char added an extra yumm factor She had the Asada plate and enjoyed every bite. A nice thin steak cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of sides to stuff the tortillas. To top it off we had a tasty flan. I would have preferred a warm sauce over the top but it was still enjoyable. Out of the 3 Mexican restaurants this has become our new #1, the salsa bar has won us over.

The best food you will ever eat and the best service! Can't wait to go back again!!!read more

I've eaten crab cakes all over including several famous MD crab cakes and I work at a fresh seafood market where we make our own crab cakes. So when I say I know my crab cakes.... I know my crab cakes. Talk of the mountain: this is a super cute and friendly small restaurant located on Main Street. It is very local friendly and the kind of place the staff/owners would know your name and your regular order. I LOVE that. The staff are warm and inviting. You can watch them breading your food and chat with them as you eat. I loved watching. We got the crab cake with fried oysters and shrimp plate with Mac n cheese and fries and hush puppies and another fried shrimp plate with their slaw. It was pretty pricey but we expected that when buying quality seafood. The fried shrimp were absolutely incredible as were the fried oysters (minus the pearl my son found in the one he ate... but again not too much of a surprise). The taste was great, the cook time was perfect, they were delicious! The fries were seasoned and tasty as were the hush puppies (nothing to scream about but definitely good!) the slaw was good (according to my son... I'm not a slaw person). The Mac n cheese was definitely different but not exactly mind blowing. I felt indifferent I didn't love it and feel like I needed it tomorrow, but it wasn't bad. I honestly didn't have an opinion either way on it but I did eat it. The crab cake. The good: this was literally packed with crab meat. Obviously we seek out places that Jam Pack their crab cakes with actual pieces of quality lump crab. Talk of the Mountain certainly does this.... In my opinion to the extreme. When they say zero fillers, they MEAN IT. So does zero fillers make a good crab cake? In my opinion not this way. It was not my cup of tea and I love crab and crab cakes (obviously). It seemed like their formula for the binder was a mustard based concoction and then it was solid crab. The flavor left a lot to be desired and it didn't feel like eating crab cake because there was no filler at all. Making crab cakes is such a delicate balance, a true art in my opinion and while TOTM most definitely is serious about ensuring you taste the crab in their "cakes" the end result was more of a pile of lump crab with a sauce. All that being said I would absolutely eat there again. They were fabulous and I truly applaud their style. This is just my personal perspective from the one visit. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area! Rating: my knee jerk is to give this a 4 because I really am not a fan of the Crabcake and would not order it again, however everything else and the people were 10 stars so I feel like a 5 star rating is deserved. If they ever modified their recipe I would try it again happily AND will def eat there again. The shrimp and oyster was phenomenal.
