I was on the road cruising around Northern Virginia, pulled over and looked for good pub food. As I was searching Yelp, I found this place and the first picture I saw was what looked like a pastrami sandwich and onion rings, but in fact, it was a Reuben, which is OK. I walked in and I was greeted immediately and I was welcomed in. The only negative and I won't ding the restaurant for it is somebody is wearing so much perfume I felt my throat closing off, that's not the restaurant fault. I just moved to the other end of the restaurant and even though I could still smell it, it wasn't unbearable. Now back to the Reuben ,it came out with a generous portion of pastrami The bread was toasted. It tasted good, not great or not awesome but still respectable. The onion rings were very good, just a little over salted. Now here's the awesome part that gets them an extra star otherwise they would've only gotten three is that their beer is really outstanding, especially the IPAs. I had a flight of beer and the southern stacker w sweet potato fries on visit one and the Virginian, a ham and cheese w apples, apple butter served on toasted cinnamon raisin bread, on visit two. This is a great little spot in the heart of downtown Front Royal. The brewery has plenty of seating inside at the bar, tables, and booths along with plenty of outdoor seating. They also have a really big menu and full kitchen! We got the wings and they were amazing. Crispy, no breading, and plenty of sauce on them. As a wing enthusiast, these were top tier and large wings. It seems like they might bake them and then flash fry to get them crispy. Well done! The backs were just okay. They cheese sauce was a bit bland and they left a lot to be desired. The main issue was the backhoes weren't layered with toppings so once the top layer was eaten, we were left with just plain tortilla chips. We needed a local 'pet-friendly' restaurant. Found this place: good food, very friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, near to the center of town. Fro-Ro has done a good job of recapturing the small-town ambiance missing from so many communities. The staff were engaging and accommodating (we had three children under 3 with us, plus a pup) and we were afforded comfortable seating outside under heaters. We stopped here on our way through town for lunch. The look of the place is very utilitarian, not much drew me to it aesthetically and the name is nothing too attractive but we were quite hungry. However, I was really pleased with the quality of the food as well as the beer. We tried one of the NEIPAs which was hazy, fruity and delicious. They were able to modify my food request. The waitstaff was super nice. Overall had a great time and would come back if I'm ever in town again. In fact I wish I had bought some NEIPAs to go. read more

We stopped in on our road trip on the suggestion of a local when the BBQ restaurant we targeted was closed. Vibrissa is located on the quaint Main Street with convenient public parking around the back. If you enter the front, walk through to the host station. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside in the evening of a 90+ degree day. It was super pleasant. All the staff was cheery and pleasant. We got the pork belly sliders, jalapenos (cheesy and stuffed with crab), and fried pickles. All were delicious. Don't miss the beers! The stout was smooth and creamy: a real winner. The Pilsner was light and delicious with no aftertaste. My husband recommends the IPA (twice!). For dinner we got the ramen (not traditional Japanese, but delicious nonetheless. Good noodles), buglogi style beef (generous and good flavor), cheese steak sandwich (not just good, really good). I got the Greek salad and added fried tofu (I know, not a traditional choice, but o recommend: crispy and creamy), and kids Mack. The salad has tons of delicious olives, pickled onions....so good! Omgosh! Is the first thing I can say about this place! I was VERY hesitant but.im so glad we decided to visit. Hubby got pork bellies, he LOVED THEM! We ordered nachos and pretzel for appetizers and the reuben, grilled cheese, chicken burger and cheeseburger for our meals. The food was good, the service was GREAT, and overall we'd come back again. This was our first time back since the rebranding. The beers are a disappointment. In the past they had way more variety. Now it's mostly german styles, which are my least favorite. The stout was a milk stout and I prefer dry stouts. I had the english mild, which had limited flavor and was almost like a pilsner to me. The food is still excellent. Tacos were amazing. Their beer menu is large and pours can be ordered in tasting glasses so you can try a lot. Their sour ale was decent and refreshing. The food menu has many options, though they were out of several items the day we went. Since the burger was out of stock, I got their hot dog. Solid brewery and restaurant in Front Royal! Their staple beer, Park Pass, is a tasty lager that's really balanced, avoiding a lot of breadiness of other Helles. The food was surprisingly great! I ordered the mezze gyro, and they offered to sub in chicken since they ran out of falafel. The chicken breast was cooked perfectly - amazing seasoning and so, so juicy. And the gyro was put together so well, with fresh veggies and great sauce that was flavorful without being too heavy. I also got a side of pilaf rice, and it paired really nicely with the gyro. Food did take a bit of time to come out (about 30 minutes and it wasn't that busy), but it was worth the wait. They clearly have a good kitchen. stopped by for dinner while in Front Royal. Unfortunately, it was a bit cold for the patio and our dog Zeus wasn't permitted inside so we placed an order to go. While waiting I tried their Irish Ale and it was very tasty. I had a conversation with the bartender and she had me sample their Polo (Czech beer) and their dunkel Weisse. Both were excellent. We had their Caesar salad, Bavarian pretzel, southern Chicken sandwich and Reuben sandwich - all were excellent. The only downside is that we would have enjoyed having a few more beers and eating in the restaurant. We stopped by this place to have lunch on the way back to DC. It was a huge mistake to pick this place. When we entered this restaurant, nobody greeted us. NOBODY. A few waitresses walked by, but they completely ignored us. I looked around and noticed that nobody cleaned up dirty dishes on many tables. What is the deal? FINALLY, we were seated at the table. The service was continually slow. I noticed that the waiters didn't talk to each other. We had to wait for getting our food more than 45 minutes for a simple taco salad. The food was not that great. He also checked on us just the right amount of times and just seemed like he was happy to be there. The food was good. We ordered a Caesar salad to share, I love the homemade dressing! We ordered the chicken focaccia sandwich and the pesto pasta with shrimp. The focaccia bread was incredible. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of chicken on it. The chicken reminded me of Cisco's pre-cooked chicken and the way that the sandwich was prepared made it extremely soggy. The flavors were good. The sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious. The pesto pasta was great! We ordered it with blackened shrimp. Unfortunately, the shrimp were not blackened, but they were still delicious. The showstopper was the bourbon bread pudding. The best bread pudding I've had in a very very long time! We also ordered two beers to try. I like that they have three different size pours. The floof (hazy IPA) was delicious! We sat on the patio, which had a nice shade cover and was really peaceful and relaxing on that beautiful day. read more

Our favorite beers we sampled were the Mile 0 and the DDH Gracious Living which was my favorite. Food was solid, good standard brewery fare. I've been here a few times now trying to find something I like on the menu but it's always been a big miss for me. Ordered the Birria Ramen tonight, figured would be great on a below freezing evening. What I got could be summed up as glass noodles in an unsalted beef broth. It lacked any flavor whatsoever. Not just needing salt, but Birria should be a rich flavor broth from the chilis, garlic, onions, star anise, etc. This dish really had no flavor at all. I struggled to find something redeeming but just couldn't. We also started off with the nachos which weren't too bad, but both times we've had dishes with the beer cheese, the cheese was very grainy like it had broken.
