We had family visiting and went in on a Monday around 1230. Hoping to be in and out for lunch... We were a party of 5, ordered two beers, an appetizer, four entrees and an additional appetizer as an entree. We waited 10-15 minutes after being seated to have our order placed. We waited an additional 10 minutes or so for an appetizer to come out. After that, we never saw a sever come to us. There was a party of 6 before us who was served and then left. We saw two additional parties 4-6 people arrive, in addition to another couple who arrived. These parties were all served before us within the next 40 minutes to an hour. As we looked at the entrees being brought out we thought it would be ours as it appeared to almost be the same orders as what we ordered. Unfortunately, we had to remove ourselves from this situation as we had gone about an hour if not more without proper service. Unfortunately, we were very upset and asked if we had upset someone at the restaurant as we sat outside where it did become hot and we watched everyone who arrived after us be served. Unfortunately, the staff wanted to justify their actions which upset us more. I paid for the beers, soft drinks, and appetizer we did have, but they definitely lost locals at this location which is very sad all because of incompetent and dysfunctional staff on a Monday afternoon. There was no reason for any of this to have happened. But the restaurant made sure to make us feel as invaluable as possible. So if you want good entertainment come here and expect disappointment. There are much better options in Front Royal and Winchester that know how to function and value their customers any day of the week.

Again, many ingredients from Tim's wife's greenhouses in my drinks. We briefly met the owner, Billie, who was gracious. They have a small food menu, but didn't get to try due to a heavy breakfast. BRB is killing it, has truly wonderful staff, & put so much work into their products, including using homegrown herbs. It's remote, so not on everyone's radar, but if you're nearby or passing through, it should be. We are definitely stopping again before heading home to PA. Thank you, BRB & especially Tim. It's pretty small in there and the upstairs area was very hot, dusty, and had really old tables and chairs. Nobody was wanting to sit up there. They have a little carport area outside to sit but it has no ac. The beer was average to below average, we just ordered one beer and a flight. We were sitting right in front of the kitchen which appeared to be run by a microwave, so that's never a good sign. I think this would have been a better experience if their barn didn't have a private even going.

I agree with others that it's somewhat set up like a Cracker Barrel - a combination of store and restaurant. There are three areas you can eat - outside on the patio, on the bar side (tons of seating of different variety- bench, seats, and couches), and the non-bar side (seating is less and a bit more tight). There's lots of interesting decor and history here. It seems like a nice place to hang out during the colder months when the fireplace gets going. Ordering was super quick and you don't have to sit on the side you ordered from. Just let them know where you will be at and they will come find you (listen for your number). I had the apple cider and I was pleasantly surprised. All the Apple cider I have had is non-alcoholic and I thought that was what I was drinking until my boyfriend set me straight. It was so yummy and I couldn't taste the alcohol at all (my kind of drink)! The ID check should have clued me in...but I thought it was because my boyfriend also ordered an alcoholic drink. My boyfriend ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger with Mac & Cheese while I had the Brisket Grilled Cheese with Bacon Ranch Potato Salad. We also ordered a dozen Apple Butter. Everything tasted good and there was a decent amount of brisket in my sandwich. Even that I recommend letting some pieces with the bbq sauce mix in with the potato salad. It makes it even better! The donuts were good too, but I recommend taking them home and popping them into the microwave for a bit. Then put a scoop of coffee almond ice cream on it. All in all, I definitely wouldn't mind coming back here again after a hike.

It's the only place in town where you can camp out for hours to watch a game and not feel pressured to order food. There is no working kitchen here but a food truck offering Mexican fare is typically here Monday through Saturday (not on Sunday though). The beer is great - something for nearly everyone, from porters and stouts to IPAs to ales. Missing Sours and Goses* so if you're a fan of those styles you may have to try something else. They also have a N/A root beer for the DD in your group. The ladies behind the bar (there may be a male server too but I have not encountered one) are small town friendly and will happily recommend restaurants where you can pick up food, or hidden gems in town for the tourists. *It is possible they have Sours and Goses during the year as their beer menu changes often. But their mainstays appear to be their brown ale, cream ale, at least one IPA, a porter, and a stout. The Christmas Mouse is a very high ABV (over 10%) but it is delicious.

I was a little baffled so I walked around the corner to another Brewery. I did make a note to visit next time I was in Old Town Winchester.. Fast forward to the next Friday evening and hurray,, they were open. Broken Window reminds me of a neighborhood bar with great craft beer.  What I liked most was the family atmosphere.  There were humans of all ages, kids, families, college age, etc.  They have both inside and outside seating and there was a table of people outside with the heating lamps on. Our beertender was Julian, hope I spelled his name right.  He was very attentive and for a place which was half packed, he handled the Friday night beer crowd expertly.  The BEER: Ranger Stout 7.2% ABV... nice strong Stout, like expression coffee Art Star Porter 6.2% ABV... liked it, was less subtly nutty Sometime Next Week Cream Ale 5.5% ABV... Good northern style cream Ale At Wits End Belgian Wit 5% ABV... a little more hoppy than I would have expected, still the Belgian flavor came through Gentle Twenty America Pale Ale 6.2% ABV... Wow!!! Piney goodness Fly Casual IPA 6.1% ABV... I liked it 2GA Amber Ale 5.6% ABV... solid semi sweet and good Only the End Pilsner 5.8% ABV... someone put love into this Pilsner What a solid selection of good beer.   The beers here are typical of a North Eastern flavor palet.  They also have hard seltzer. And the prices are so reasonable. I was surprised the place wasn't packed. They don't have food, but you can order in. I will definitely be returning. Good beer at reasonable prices. I'm in!

It was a winner all the way. The restaurant is a repurposed building that was once a blue jeans factory, and perhaps after that a radio station. We learned this from a local couple at a table next to us. As might be expected from a former factory, the restaurant is spacious and has a lot of character with old wooden floors and high ceilings. It's very casual. You order your beverages and food at the bar and grab a table to your liking. We chose one in the middle of room to give us a little space from the live band. Incidentally, it seems they have a live group every night of the week! I ordered a honey wheated beer for my wife and a pale ale for myself. Both were delicious. I ordered the Reuben and a cheeseburger for my wife. The Reuben wasn't up to say, a NY City deli standard, but it was pretty darn good and I would order it again. It came on marbled rye bread with a generous amount of meat. My wife loved her burger, and could only finish half of it. She got the sweet potato fries and I got regular fries. We both got a mountain of potatoes-- a challenge to finish in one sitting! The brewhouse is a gem--a delightful find in the quaint town sometimes referred to as the "other Woodstock." 4 and a half stars!
