This brewery is so warm and welcoming. They have great selections of beer and their patio is very cozy and cute. Make sure to check out their seasonal drinks and cute swag. Oh and they are located right outside of the historic district so check them out if you're in the area for any festivals or events. You won't regret it! read more

I previously posted a negative review but that was some time ago. Since then they have really improved. Staff more friendly and appear to make some effort to recognize and acknowledge people who have been there before. Beer quality is solid. I like how they have at least one beer that is made from one type of hop. That is really important to me as i try to understand hops in beer like people understand grapes in wine. read more

Unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience here. I was stopping through Winchester for the night and walked into a fairly empty, large space on a mild summer Friday night. That should've been the first clue. Where were the patrons? Upon walking up to the bar, I asked to build a flight. They asked for my ID, which, fine, sure whatever, but then they analyzed it to no end and looked extremely skeptical of me. I am in my 30s. I don't look underage at this point. Have you seen teenagers these days? They look like children. Nonetheless, they served me but were not pleasant in the slightest. It didn't get better from there. I didn't rate a single one of my beers/seltzers higher than a 3 on Untappd: #glaming Pink Lemonade Shandy: 1.5 Seven Bends Seltzer, Mango Dragonfruit: 1.5 Seven Bends Seltzer, Blueberry A La Mode: 3 'Squito Gose: 1.75 Seven Bends Seltzer, Ginger Spritz: 2.5 (I noted that this one tasted like cough medicine) Maybe they were having an off night. Maybe I just tried their five worst beers. But I see no need to test those theories in the future if I'm ever back in Winchester. read more

Just made a quick stop to meet friends. Place was large, staff very friendly, & cute outdoor seating area. Tried the Swagger Irish Red Ale- super yummy. I will be back asap! read more

Winchester Brew works is spacious.  They have mega seating both inside and out.  We came around 8pm on a Friday night and there wasn't much happening.  Still there was beer and what else do you need on a cold winter night in Winchester VA. The place was pretty empty.  The music was ummm, busy.  Hated the music, but the beer was good.  It's decorated kind of eclectic, like kindergarten meets the Alps.  There is a Foosball table, winning.  And a big screen TV. They also have accessories for sale, sweatshirts, hats, glasses, etc.  And beer to go. Did a flight of 6 of their beers.  They also have Seltzers and two Shandies which I didn't try because they are not in my flavor wheelhouse.  Didn't love the music, but that's not why I came. Yeah, I know still complaining about the music. I wrote this while drinking and the music kept creeping into my thoughts. Ugh! The BEER: Sun Salutations Bohemian Style Pilsner 5.5% ABV... crisp and crushable, a hardy Czech Pilsner Honey Apple Ale 8.5% ABV... sweet and mostly honey, still it's hardy, almost tastes like a cider, it has a cream Ale base Sun Down Belgian Tripel 10.5% ABV... a solid triple, but a tad boozy, the alcohol is loudly prevalent Solo Hike American IPA 5.9% ABV... Definitely drinkable, love the Hop aroma Little Devil Stout 5.2% ABV...drinkable and crushable dry Irish Stout.  A great cup of coffee in a beer. Very smooth. Give me some bacon and hello breakfast. Pumpkin Spice Little Devil Stout 5.2% ABV... I liked the original little devil better, but this was also good.  I have to come back and visit.  Definitely worth a second visit. read more

These guys are the cool kids in town! Winchester Brew Works is such a neat little spot. For anyone who doesn't know, it's a tasting room so they offer their own beers on tap. I'm not a big beer drinker personally but I loved their pineapple seltzer and peanut butter porter. I also loved the fruit purée mix-ins they offer, so yummy as I love fruity flavors. Winchester Brew Works often partners with local food trucks and others since they don't have a kitchen. They do, however, offer a variety of snacks including chips, cheese, salami, hummus, and ice cream sandwiches. I loved the birthday cake ice cream sandwich. My favorite part of the interior is the colorful mural that decorates one entire wall of the brewery. White twinkle lights hung from the ceiling create a soft comfortable glow. The inside is also decorated to make you feel like you're sitting outside- with picnic tables and a pergola. The patio (aka the real outside) is really pleasant too. As an LGBT person myself, it really means a lot to see this brewery celebrating Pride both inside their brewery and with their merchandise. Thanks for making me feel welcome. I love how kid friendly this place is, although I haven't had a chance to bring my kids yet. Winchester Brew Works often holds events like trivia night and seasonal events too like their New Years party. You can also rent the tasting room out as a venue. read more

We tried this location as it was a short walk from out hotel. There is a lot of outdoor seating and some indoor seating. The beer list had a several IPAs, porter, etc and a lager. I am not a big IPA drinker so we went with the mexican lager. Bar staff was not very friendly to us at all. It is obvious that this location prefers locals that they know. My wife stood up to move from one side of our table to another without a mask on and the lady behind the bar screamed from across the room that she needed a mask on. Even though we were greater than 6' from everyone and she walked 3 feet... but if she knows you- you can walk from the tasting area to the bathrooms without one on. Or at least that was the perception. I won't go back here and I can't recommend to anyone that would be visiting the area. Lots of other cool places in the area read more

Some of the finest craft beer around!! The brewers mix making traditional beers with mixing it up and creating some interesting and delicious brews! The staff is courteous and I'm always happy when Kim is behind the bar! Family friendly with a patio. A great spot! read more

This is about the most unfriendly place to get a beer I've stumbled into in a while. Maybe we all stopped by on a bad night... Have walked by many times and my friend wanted to check it out... Weird vibe from the staff. Bad day, bad mood? I don't know. Place was mostly empty anyway, so it's not like we were the 10000th customer of the day. Good luck with your beer place. read more

Excellent local watering hole with constant change in their beer menu - all made there on the premises. They do not serve food, but they do have snacks and food trucks regularly. Super family friendly and casual with tasty brews! read more

Excellent beer here and a nice space. There is inside seating at wooden benches and tables, or there are tables outside which looked great for this time of year. I took a seat with my flight of four beers and ate up a whole bunch of their wifi I didn't notice any food here and there wasn't a food truck on this weekday evening. Just me and beer and my laptop. Beers were excellent, even if quite a few were sold out. That's a good thing that the beer is selling that well, but you can't sell beer that you don't have. Four beers on my flight. All were very good or great. Peach/Apricot Shandy, Hop Blossom Hefe, Canoe Love Cream Ale and American Style Stout. I liked the shandy the most, especially for a hot day. $9 for four pours. read more

This place is awesome the environment is wonderful they have lights hung everywhere and a free pin ball machine. I had the milkshake boba ipa and it was so good. They nailed the boba part. What a fun beer. The pale ale was a great balance of grain and crispness. We'd love to come back this is a great brewery! read more

The best brewery in Winchester! The beer is reliably DELICIOUS! They have some fun non-beer options too, like grown up slushies, and you can bring in whatever food you want. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. The owners are wonderful people who have such fantastic events, food trucks, and help promote diversity, love, along with superb beer! Great place to have an event too! Tons of space in and out. We used their beer routinely for events! We had their Beer Truck for the 2023 Apple Blossom Grand Marshal event, which not only provided our guests with fab beer, but Kim served and was the cherry on top. So nice, patient, and just all round cool person. LOVE this place! read more

Friendly staff. Good selection of beers. Nice decor inside. Very nice patio outside.

Second time visitor. I seem to have bad luck with Winchester Brew Works, because both visits came during a lull between beer batches, so the selections were slimmer than usual. The location and service were good, though. It does have more of a 'bar' vibe than some other breweries, since it's in downtown Winchester. I'm not sure what volume of beer they produce, but it doesn't seem to be especially high. When I visited they were down to a pair of IPAs, a Milk Stout Pumpkin Spice, a Octoberfest (I think Helles), cream ale, and an ESB. Normally they have shantys but not during this visit. What I tried: Pumpkin Spice: DEFINITLY a lot of pumpkin, and not so much 'stout'. I liked it, but it was different from other pumpkin or stout beers that I've had. Octoberfest: Nice, easy drinking. IPA (I forget which). Not bad; I asked for whichever had the lower IBU rating, but actually neither one was particularly high. Cream ale: I tried it just to round out my flight, but quickly realized that cream ales just aren't for me. read more

After visiting Alesatian - I went down the way to visit Winchester Brew Works! I hit them during a lull on a Sunday afternoon as I was the only patron in the place. A few other folks arrived after I got started. Lots of seating here! I had a flight of brews to taste: Coconut Cream Ale (6.0% ABV) Fire Road Chipotle Porter (4.2% ABV) Pumpkin Spice Milk Stout (5.5% ABV) Juicy Session IPA (5.4% ABV) All of the brews were interesting and tasty - but my favorite was the Fire Road Chipotle Porter! Just the right amount of heat, spice, and flavor! Very well done! Another good stop for fans of craft beers! read more

I don't known if there anywhere more community feeling than Winchester Brew Works. Much thought is taken for all the details.

Very rude staff. Beer ok but I did not expect staff at a brewery to be so rude. This was on a Friday night.

4.5 stars. Came on a Friday. Gotta say, I like the bartender Ian. He's got an unique look, style, and personality that could propel this place into real success. Not kidding, he's a great bartender. The beer might not be very remarkable right now, but they can improve. All good breweries start this way... as long as they see success, they will be able to survive, and improve. It wasn't very packed at 6 pm while I was here. I think that made it easier to like the place, though. I can see this place becoming too popular and becoming too noisy and crowded to enjoy. I really hope this place figures out the correct formula, and keeps the current ambiance close to what it is now. Fingers crossed read more

Great bruised, great people, great atmosphere equals a great place to go and hang out with your friends for a beer

The beers are okay. Nothing experimental or totally original, but I don't fault them for that. The inside is a bit underwhelming although for large parties it would actually be a perfect fit. Large picnic tables, TVs, plenty of space, etc. The bar is nice and big, allowing plenty of people to be up there at the same time. It's just okay, and sometimes that's okay! One bad experience though... I asked for water and the bartender pointed at a water fountain with cups next to it. Not a dealbreaker, but the water did taste kind of funny. read more

Visited over the holidays and had a good time! We had two flights of eight beers and got to try a lot of variety in what WBW has to offer. Most of the beers were okay, but a few stood out. I'm not typically into IPAs or stouts, but the most memorable ones for me were the Cascade Falls IPA (stellar citrusy, cooling finish) and the Hazelnut Coffee Big Schloss stout (strong coffee notes but not overly sweet or thick). My least favorite was the Chai Chili Big Schloss - the flavors just didn't mix for me - but points for creativity and experimenting! In terms of the space itself, it's very big with a large bar and I loved the large mural of the valley on one of the walls. However, it's a little too overwhelmingly open and industrial for me - I could easily see it getting really loud and "cafeteria-like" when crowded. Overall, worth checking out! read more

Try the 2200 New England IPA! It's delicious! It's a great brewery and the staff is incredibly friendly! The beer was fine but the gals running the place are dour and void of any customer pleasantries. Acted if if they were doing you a favor by taking your drink order, void of any eye contact , short and clipped telling the wife and I to move from certain bar stools at the end which they wanted empty to take walk up orders which I get , but there was no one at the tables while the bar was starting to fill up. Not a good vibe , Plenty of nice places to grab a draft around town.... had one and went " exit stage left" to Escutcheon read more

Empty bar. We came in because my 8 month pregnant friend needed to use bathroom. Refused to let her unless she purchased something. She's pregnant and has no reason to buy a beer. I've been several times to Winchester Brew Works and they offer a wide selection of beers. Their sours and shandies are some of my favorites. There is something for everyone - my husband is a big fan of their dark beers, in particular their Bear Tracks Peanut Butter Porter and Big Schloss stout. The two bartenders, Kim and Jayson are great and knowledgeable about what's on tap. There's also a wide selection of snacks and NA beer. The patio is great in the summer and it's fun to stop by on an afternoon in the winter for a board game and some take out. Even better, I'm happy to support a women-owned business that gives back to the community and is LGBTQ+ friendly. Do yourself a favor and stop by here! read more

This brewery was a good experience. They had a moderate selection of beers. The majority of the beers were stouts, though they still had a few IPA's and other lighter beers. My favorite was the Big Schloss it had a very rich profile and nodes coffee and cocoa. The space was open with a view of the brewing process behind the bar. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the beer. They were very busy so it was harder to get a refill but this was understandable because I came on a weekend. They weren't serving any food which was a drawback but overall it was a very good experience. read more

Pretty solidly love this place after a first pre-grand opening visit! Bonnie and her husband are polite, knowledgeable, and above all funny and charming. We may be regulars just because of them- but, the beer! There is some and it's worthy of trying.
