Such a fun time! My favorite was the cider of the siren and the malice. trying their cider flight interesting to hear how they incorporate the flavors into their food as well. I love hard cider. I mean, LOVE hard cider. I always seek out cideries, especially ones with unusual offerings. While in downtown Winchester, the husband and I stopped in for lunch and had a flight of ciders to try. I was so excited by the idea of the different drinks--one was supposed to have cherry in it, one ginger, one a winter spice take, and the fourth a super-old-skool revolutionary-era flavor. However, I was surprised to find two of four of them to be watery and nearly tasteless. One was so ginger-filled it tasted medicinal (and I love ginger). The fourth, the anniversary cider, was an interesting, old fashioned taste, the best of the bunch. I had a pulled chicken sandwich, literally pulled chicken on toast with a side of potato chips. Don't think it will be BBQ. It was in a very sweet sauce that tasted slightly like soy sauce. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't something I would want again. The husband ate his cottage pie and said it was pretty good. The server was very nice and the ambience is great. But I can think of myriad other cideries I would frequent before this one. Another great cidery! Always like hitting up a bunch of cideries and breweries and having a series of memorable and lovely drinking experiences with each one! For this cidery Steve and I enjoyed the black currant hard cider. Unique in ingredients and not your typical run of the mill cider this berry oriented cider didn't prove to be overly sweet like a lot of berry ciders can be. The dryness and sweetness were balanced in a well handled way making this cider drinking experience one of complexity and enjoyment. The not often seen... or perhaps used black currant paved the way for something unique and memorable which this cider definitely provided as I do enjoy currants and reminds me being around currant bushes when I was a child but now is something that just is highly infrequent which I miss when enjoying this cider. read more

We love this place. Very friendly staff and very comfy low key vibe. The ciders here are decadent! Very vast pallet of favors here. The ciders are not overly sweet with very complex flavors. Can get by the glass or they offer taster size pours. Can also get cans or growlers to go. Have some outdoor seating as well as seating inside. Take a look around as they have a lot of local history posted on the walls. There are a few dart boards in the back as well. They do have some snacks available for purchase. read more

Hot, fresh, and obviously quality ingredients, this place will be a go-to from now on. The owners are local folks who couldn't be more kind, and really care about the craft of their food and cider. Locally fermented and let me tell ya, their cider options will NOT disappoint. Winchester is a really friendly place that was a lot bigger and more bar-like than I expected. They even had food option! Pretzels and microwaveable meat-pies, but still food. I ordered a full flight, and my server was kind enough to add a few more in, one of them a mix of two that were on tap. She was also very personable, to the point of trading stories. So service - check. I wasn't overly keen on the bourbon-aged ciders, but I liked several of the flagship ciders a lot. My favorite was the old-English Malice, with the pear being a close second. This place is definitely worth a revisit, if not a long visit just to have a few pints. read more

Ciderworks is a rustic bar type of place in a over 125 year old building used for a variety of things through the times on an Apple Orchard. They serve a nice selection of hard ciders. They range from mild to wild , some with bourbon flavor and such ciders as one with ginger. Best way to start if you are not familiar with their hard ciders is to try a flight or 2 ! Some are sweet and some are dry, they selection is good. The food is limited to pretzels with mustard or a gourmet cheese block and box of Carrs crackers- cheese is local from Berryville and quite good. They sometimes offer live music and can get pretty busy, otherwise it is pretty chill. The staff is friendly and great about telling about the ciderworks. Located just outside of town, it is worth swinging by for a taste. They offer ciders to go in cans or growlers. Check this place out. Some music when there us not a group playing would be nice as it was pretty quiet. Nice bar, plenty of tables. read more

Definitely swing by for a pour of cider. It's not what you think here - in fact - we found their ciders refreshing, tart, and not overly sweet - just a hint of it really. My wife loved the malice (we got a four pack) and I went with a 50/50 split (cool idea suggested by the bartender) of the Va-ginga (ha-ha!) and Black Currant (can't remember the exact name). We enjoyed each others' as well. The venue is beautiful; the orchard is too. We played some games like Jenga and Checkers while enjoying our beverages. This is well worth the visit. read more

Service was friendly and we got a flight to try some of their ciders. We liked a few of them and purchased a few of their growlers. When we came they were advertising a cider making class that the bar tender there wasn't able to tell us a lot about it. After going home and thinking about it a few days later we tried to register for the class but it was full. We hope that they offer this class again. Although Winchester isn't super close to our town we will absolutely return again. read more

This place is a great stop if you are in the area, not necessarily worth going out of your way for. The cider was alright, not outstanding, in my admittedly novice opinion. All the ciders are made from the same base cider, and the variety comes from mixing it with other flavors like pear, currants, ginger etc. The cider is on the dry side, which I like, but there wasn't any of that funky, rustic, heirloom style (or whatever the right term is) cider which I really love. To be honest, based on the cider alone, I'd probably give this 3 or 3.5 stars. But the owner was awesome to us, and walked us through all the ciders on the menu and had a great attitude about everything. I hope this place does great and keeps getting better. Also liked the decor, and there were dart boards, every bar should have dart boards. read more

What an amazing experience. My wife and I had such a fun conversation with the bartender. We didn't get her name, but talked to us all about white water rafting and her favorite areas. Being visitors to the area she made us feel like locals. Such a hidden up and coming location. I loved the Malice cider and the views. From the time you walk in the door Winchester Ciderworks is a great experience! They are helpful when ordering and the coders were amazing! The ciders are an off-dry English style. My buddy and I got two flights and all the ciders were crisp and refreshing. We ordered the pretzels with apple cider mustard: amazing! We took mustard home! I have been in love with the 522 and go to a local restaurant simply to have a can or two of this delight! My husband, son and myself happened to drive by the tasting room this afternoon and could not be more impressed with what we found. I had found their website and made a point to spot in and try their cider. I could not have been more pleased. Not only was every cider I tried excellent but the staff could not have been more friendly or more informative. The only time I will not be returning to visit this place is when I have the misfortune to be passing through Winchester when it is closed. I do not expect that to happen often as I will planning my drives through there based upon their business hours. read more
