Flight. Good. Chips. Stopped in before dinner. It's a warehouse/industrial space in a very warehouse/industrial neighborhood. Clean on the outside and a new building. Inside, clean and space for getting some serious beer drinking done. Tables and comfy seats and a bar with televisions. Sorry, I can't remember if there was wifi or not. Beers were okay. I had a flight of five different ones for $7 and they were good. The Cherry Kriek was very light on cherry flavor. The Gose was sour and salty. Hefeweizen, Lager and Kolsch were a decent four stars but I thought that the taste was light. On this night, there were eight or so fresh beers on tap (plus the Kriek, bottled). They do not have a kitchen but do have Route 11 chips for sale. Chips and beer go well together and these are excellent chips.

Nice looking tap room and pretty good beers. This place is definitely a 'brewery', but is much more of a large sale commercial brewery than the 'micro pubs' I'm more accustomed to. The result is their beers were generally good, definitely drinkable, but nothing too crazy or experimental. If this is a good or bad thing all depends on your point of view. I had no idea Escutcheon was such a large operation. The back of the building had huuuuuuge brewing kettles, and cases upon cases of beers stacked & ready to go. Apparently they distribute a lot in the Baltimore area, although I'd never heard of them in the DC area. They seem to focus on German style beers. Of the 9 beers on tap... Blackstrike Stout: Like Guinness but lighter. Enjoyed it Kerlogue Red Ale: Pretty good, especially if you like red ales Algonic Line Lager: Not many lagers in breweries, but then again this was a big operation so I shouldn't be too surprised. Interesting finish, but otherwise just OK. Reluctant Spice Gose: Semi sour beer, which I liked but not as much as other sours. Pilsner: Very soft, almost tasteless Kolsh: Little Complex. Advertised as a lager finish...whatever that means.

Beer is good. Prices are fantastic. $6.00 flights ... yes, please! Very simple decor. I like it!

One of many great breweries in Winchester that you must swing by! Easy access with parking lot spaces available right next to the building. The tap room is welcoming and air conditioned. The brews, which were all great, I enjoyed were Reluctant Splice Gose, Agonic Line Lager, Kerlogue Red Ale, Double Hull IPA, Blackstrake Stout on Nitro. The gose was the best one I've had to date, great balance of sweetness. The stout on nitro, you can't go wrong with that, so smooth! The IPA wasn't too strong either, a great composure. All excellent brews, what are you waiting for, stop by already!

    Nitro Stout!

Decent beer but no food except route 11 chips even though it appeared first in list of Yelp search of breweries with food. Disappointing.

Maybe 12 people seated in the entire room. Took our seats... we were approached after 10 mins. Menus. Waited another 10 minutes. Bartender asks for our order. We ordered our food and he responded, "I wanted your drink order". Really?! Ordered four glasses of water and two apps. We asked for one app to be divided on two plates, bartender said "I'm not gonna do that. They're (kitchen) busy". We sucked down our food and water, asked for the check twice due to being on a time constraint. Dude never acknowledged. My husband finally stopped the bartender, asked for his name. "Brian/Bryan" while walking away. We left enough cash on the bar to cover our bill with a generous tip just so we could get out of there. Worse dining experience we've had an extremely long time. Bryan/Brian's attitude was nothing shy of being inconvenienced. Won't ever return!

I passed it twice. AND, the funniest part is you have to enter through the pizzeria, make a right, go through another door and then up the stairs. When we walked through the other door at the top of the stairs,, it was like walking into a disco. Funk/Disco music jamming in the background, disco ball... taking me back to my rollerblading days. It is a small venue with limited seating, but they do have a full menu including apps, salads and pizza. Everything you'd need to pair with your beer. Impressive! What was most exciting was the flights. THREE 8 oz. Pours for a whopping $12 bucks. Can you say, "Winning!" The BEER: Well... Ya Know Belgian Ale 6.8% ABV... it was a little more hoppy than I am used to in a Belgian, still quite good. Reminded me of Unholy by Coppertial Gen 2 Indian Pale Ale 7.4% ABV... a solid IPA, slightly hoppy and citrusy. LUV IT Hazy Mindset hazy IPA 8.1% ABV... hazy citrus delicious and to be over 8%, you'd never know it. FIRE! Loka Koko coconut Stout 6.7% ABV... semi sweet chocolate and coconut. Like a dark chocolate almond joy. GREAT! Fish Face Meher lemon sour 8% ABV... it had a different taste, it was okay. Life on Marzen lager 6.1% ABV... absolutely awful! Down Unda IPA 7.1% ABV... if you don't like Life on Marzen, you will hate this. Most of the beer was awesome. The service was top notch. They had 2 people managing the bar and they were very attentive. Even for our table in the corner. Didn't get to try the food on this visit, but I will return.
