At first, they said the drink applied to March madness games when they were on, but when me and my friend showed up and it was women's playing, they tried to not honor the March madness drink special. This place has all the vibes, from the location, to outdoor patio, to the TVs, but the food is just meh. Typical bar food, but not seasoned well nor presented well I think the chef needs to go back to the drawing board with this one. We love Rockwood, especially for their weekend brunch! The first time we came, we were just looking for AYCE place near Manassas. We stumbled upon Rockwood and decided to give it a try. This place deserves all of the hype it gets. The brunch is always on point with the offerings and how delicious the food is. We also love their regular menu. The cocktails are always delicious. Service is very good and even though most of the time we go for the brunch buffet, the servers are still very attentive. My hubby had a tasty Cobb Salad; I ordered the Southwest Salad. The spices in my salad dressing were GREAT! My mouth is tingling in a good way. I've visited Rockwood twice nice, once for a bday brunch and my second visit was a late night stop to hopefully enjoy some live music. Service is good. For brunch our server was able to handle a group of 10-12 of us with ease, was very friendly, but a bit more attentiveness would have made our time exceptional. The food is good. Everything I've had here has been delicious. Our late night visit was fun, a little snafu when settling our bill with an extra drink charge, but nothing our server couldn't fix for us. He was pleasant and very smiley. I could only give 3 stars due to other factors like not being greeted at the door, standing and waiting for a greeter because the sign asks but no one is there to greet and the cleanliness of the restrooms. As for the food, I thought the mac & cheese and the burger were quite tasty. Now for the Cuban sandwich, I will say that it was pretty good. My only critique is this, on the menu. It states that the sandwich is on Cuban bread. However, it is not Cuban bread. I am Cuban and that is how I can tell you that it's not Cuban bread . The first thing that I noticed was that it had sesame seeds, which a true Cuban bread does not ever have any type of seeds. Having said that, however, it was a decent enough sandwich. Also ask my husband if anyone took an order or stop by and not one person stop by to access if you wanted anything to eat or drink so we sat there for an additional 15 minutes mind you we already seated we already sat down, went to the restroom, washed her hands and waited additional 15 minutes, not one person came to us to take an order and so we got up and left said goodbye to the greeter and she said thank you for our come back again. I can't remember exactly what she said, but I looked at her and said you do realize that you sat us down, but no one greeted us and the only thing she said was I'm sorry and then proceeded to talk to the same friends that walked in behind us. I looked up restaurants to eat at near Jiffy Lube LIVE and Rockwood popped up. There was a lot of parking. The staff were all super friendly! The server we had was fantastic, very attentive and checking on us. She asked if were going to the Avril Lavigne concert and we were. She gave us a 10% discount for going to the concert. it's literally a discount code! I got the BBQ Bacon and cheddar burger with no cheese. it was delicious!! I highly recommend! Visited this past Sunday to celebrate a family member's birthday and sat in Lindsey's station. She was wonderful, attentive, friendly and made the experience that much better! I have eaten there other Sundays and the brunch buffet is always good, great variety and quality product. The only suggestion I have for the management is to keep the buffet up to par the entire time. I have been to this restaurant a few times over the past couple of years and have generally enjoyed it-I have taken at least three people not from the area to dine there. Usually at the bar- sometimes at the booths on the iHop window side. Usually always in the mid day and not at busy times. The menu is large and the food is usually ok- although I have been with someone (a female) who was not impressed- she's super picky. Today I visited with my neighbor about 1300 and asked for a window booth because she does not drink. We were given the lunch specials menu and another one that I thought was fairly small (limited?). I ordered what I thought was the Tomato Basil soup and the two sliders. My neighbor had the chicken fajitas. I asked if they had Southern Comfort (yes) and asked for a SOC0 with Ginger. He came back and said they had run out of the alcohol- and I said- just have the bartender make me something similar. He came back a few minutes later and said the "bartenders" couldn't figure out anything- even looking to Google. Oh lord. That's not a bartender, I opted for water only. The food came out pretty quickly. The sliders were awesome, but the soup definitely was not tomato. The gentleman was very nice, but I don't think the service was great. I did ask him if the soup was tomato basil- he never answered and then when I asked again he said the menu for the hour we visited was not the regular menu and that "tomato basil" soup was not available. There was no offer of a substitution even though clearly I was not eating the soup. Still, I think this restaurant is better than the Firebirds and some of the other places off of Wellington Rd in Gainesville, I just think they should step up their game and hire better bartenders and teach their servers how to please their customers. Don't know how much much it was because I didn't pay just wanted to provide the feedback. read more

My only gripe was that the music was slightly loud and made it hard to talk and hear the game. Our server was very friendly and brought the food out in a timely manner. The nachos + grilled chicken were fantastic and were enough for the four of us. The Fried Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich was also great, and definitely spicy.
