This is one of the best italian cuisine restaurants in the area. The food is amazing, service is terrific and the drinks are good! They have the indoor and outdoor bars, outdoor back and side patio, rooms for events, and catering. The staff are amazing and laid back, welcoming. Pizza is delicious as well as anything else on the menu. The service was sooo slow. We almost got up and left because it took around 15-20 minutes for someone to come to the table and take drink orders. It was also a hassle trying to flag someone down to get a refill. Likewise, the food took a very long time to come out. It would have been nice to have complimentary bread or something, considering the long wait. The Alfredo sauce tasted like creamy pasta water with a hint of parsley. Pretty disappointing for a menu that leans Italian and mentions homemade pasta. The noodles did taste like they may have been homemade. Nonetheless, the sauce needs a redo. The salmon was cooked very well, but again the taste left something to be desired. It just had a faint herb and olive oil taste. This would have been fine if the Alfredo was flavored correctly. Since it wasn't, the dish was overall too bland. The pasta dish itself was actually pretty light. The photo looks like more than it really is, so adding some kind of protein is a good idea. My counterpart enjoyed the cheesesteak. The fries were also good. The restaurant is in a nice location and has ample outdoor seating to hear the live music. If they tweak the recipes a little and improve their service, I think it has potential. read more

Last First Friday, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by Monza to grab some food and drinks. On our way there, we had drinks in hand, not realizing they had a strict no outside drinks policy, especially since it's common to see people walking around with alcohol during First Friday events. As we stepped up to the curb to wait in line, a woman abruptly approached us, yelling and using extremely aggressive and inappropriate language to tell us about the policy. The tone and delivery were completely unexpected and disproportionate to the situation. When I asked who she was, she identified herself as the owner. We explained that we were planning to come in, order food, and enjoy the evening, but she responded, "I don't want your fucking money," in a very hostile manner. We even asked her to please calm down, but the interaction had already become uncomfortable and disappointing. What stood out most was not the policy itself, which we would have respected, but the way it was communicated. There are professional and respectful ways to address customers, and unfortunately, this was not one of them. Several people even checked on us afterward, expressing disbelief at how we were treated. Based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning. I hope management reconsiders how situations like this are handled in the future. read more

I had the chicken Parmesan which was $22 and it didn't come with anything but the chicken and the spaghetti it was sitting on. No salad no bread nothing. You can order a side salad or bread for extra. The pasta was so dry I asked for some more sauce. It took him forever to bring the sauce and when he did, he brought about 2 Tablespoons worth of pizza sauce. And charged me $.50 for it. Then I ordered an ice tea. When was almost done with the tea He brought me another one. Then I saw there was a charge for 2 drinks on the bill. Very slow service. Expensive and nothing special about the food. Meh, we grabbed dinner one evening. The service was very slow. Dinner was not really that good. We grabbed all appetizers: bacon wrapped shrimp (over done), meat balls (needed flavor), the jalapeños poppers (ok), chicken wings (good flavor), bruschetta (just ok), and a meat pizza. Nothing was spectacular and the service promptness was lacking. We will not be returning to this establishment. read more

I was really hoping Monza in Old Town Manassas would live up to the buzz, but it fell short. The food was just okay -- nothing memorable, and honestly, pretty bland for the price. Definitely not something I'd go out of my way for again. What really soured the experience, though, was the staff's attitude. After I paid, I overheard employees complaining about the size of the tip I left. First of all, that's incredibly unprofessional -- no one should be talking trash about customers within earshot. Second, not everyone can afford to leave a huge tip every time they go out. Sometimes people are stretching just to enjoy a meal out at all. I left what I could, and for the level of service I received, it was fair. If your restaurant is going to judge people for not over-tipping, maybe put that energy into improving the food and hospitality. Won't be returning, and I'd rather support places that don't make guests feel uncomfortable after paying. read more

The location is great in the center of Old Town Manassas, and the inside has a comfy ambience. We asked the server if we could sample before ordering a bottle of wine (only if they had an open bottle) since many wines didn't look familiar and the server had no knowledge of wines. She brought a glass of a house red... which later she corrected as the other house red. If there is a decent range of wine list, maybe the server should know a little more. Food was decent. We had arancini (fried risotto balls) as an appetizer, which were nothing special. Pasta dishes were not bad but not great, either. We wanted to try a new place and did. A lot of younger friends came in when we were leaving. Might try the sister restaurant next door next time though it's more upscale. read more

A $42 Easter buffet that wasn't advertised or discussed when a reservation was made was the first in the series of unfortunate things. We stayed and ate and that's on us. The food on the buffet was cold and no where near what you'd expect at that price point. Getting a refill was a chore and the cherry on top was receiving a bill that included a 20% gratuity, which is an interesting concept when we served ourselves and cleared our own table. Had a decent meal here the other day. We came in after an event around the corner and it was mostly empty and we were seated right away. We started with an order of the stuffed jalapeños which were tasty but they were definitely heavy handed with the sauce back in the kitchen. I got the Cajun bucatini pasta which was good, although the chicken tasted like it had been reheated and was very rubbery and stringy. I just picked that part off and ate the pasta on its own and it was much better! We had an okay time here the other day. Food was nothing special. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as an app and it was super soupy and nothing like a dip at all. We didn't eat much of it and the waitress ended up comping it for us without us saying anything. The waitress was super nice and very helpful. I got a burger for my main and ordered it medium well with cooked onions. When it came out there was a whole onion slice and it was borderline raw in some spots. The worst part was, when we arrived around 3pm, there was only one other large group there, around 8 people. Our group of 4 got seated and it was obvious the other group had been there a while. They were obnoxiously loud, literally yelling and cursing making it impossible for us to talk to each other over the noise. As the afternoon went on the other group got worse and worse as they kept ordering drinks and were getting visibly drunk. It completely ruined the experience for us. Other groups came in after and also were clearly upset at how obnoxious the other group was being. They should have been cut off but we're not. read more

It's like Applebee's and Chili's had a child and named it Monza. The atmosphere is on par with Applebee's. Their silverware is wrapped in paper towels and plates are too small for the appetizers. The food is okay but priced too high. The dining area and bar are merged in an odd way such that they when they have bar trivia night and you're trying to have a family dinner just a few feet away, it ruins the meal. They tend to turn the volume up on the jukebox in the bar area very loudly too and due to its poor speaker quality, it penetrates the dining room as though someone were playing music from a cell phone at full volume inches away from your ears. read more

It's an average place with limited pizza options but we were allowed to switch a meat on the predetermined pizza collection. I didn't see any option to build your own or just a plain pepperoni. It's quite expensive for the area and I don't think the value is as good as the sister fine dining place. The best items we had were the cocktails and the desserts. Nothing bg wrong with the pizza but it isn't one of the more modern Neapolitan type brick oven joints nor is it thin crusted. It's a bit like old school 80's small town pizza joint crust (read a step above dominos but not the en vogue fresh fancy stuff except the price is fancy for the style... ). o tried the chicken wings. They are about 15$ for 8 which isn't terrible and they are huge. Only a few pieces of veg but the dressings were terrible guys! The blue cheese was watery and it didn't taste good I'm sorry to say. Can't order it all but will so be back!!!! The bar inside was hopping considering it was a weekday but who am I to judge!?! The ribeye steak was well made & the gorgonzola cheese sauce with bacon on top complimented it VERY well, keep in mind I'm usually someone who likes sauce on the side with her steak but this sounded interesting to try on top & im glad I was not wrong. - Veal meatballs were definitely house made & delicious the sauce they sat in was great too. - Lasagna bolognese was tasty & the cheese & sauce were delicious in that.
