Spiritless Spritz
Gianna A.

My friend and I made a reservation at this place for 5pm. We arrived just in time and it took us a while to get seated but, that was alright. The hostess was wonderful and kind, however our waitress wasn't. Not that she was TERRIBLE, but we did not feel very welcomed- just kind of, tolerated (which may have been because we look a bit young), so I can't blame her. The place was overall very clean, beautiful, deep mood lighting which is my kind of place. The Caesar salad and bread was wonderful! And the Spiritless Spritz is AMAZING- I loved that they gave you the rest of the red bull can. Our food however, was not great. My friend asked for her burger well done and- well.... Look at the picture. And my steak penne was lacking in salt and cheese and had tomatoes (which weren't in the picture online). Especially for a $70 bill, we weren't pleased.

Today was the perfect day to dine in. Steady but not super busy. The food as usual was excellent!! Deonte, the bartender/server for the bar area was great!! This is why I keep coming back here time after time!!

We come here a lot. Decided to try the prime rib. WOW! Best ever! Look at that great steak! Others got salads and steak tacos. All great! Best part was Maria!! She was on her game! Great job Maria!! Love the bright bar with all the bottles.

Overall a solid choice. The waitstaff was the most attentive I have experienced in a while. The prime rib good. Rare to the point I had to eat it quickly because the fat congealed. The BLT salad great. The bake potato could have been hotter for my taste so the toppings would melt. The Mother's Day crowd was reservation only type place. Definitely more upscale places for the area. Normal background chatter and music to make it feel 'special.' Celest and Cali was the highlight of my experience, they knew the menu. Definitely more of a 'special' kind of dinning place. I wish I rolled that way but I'd be broke and fat. A solid choice overall. Almost a five if I had not experienced better. It was the bread and tap water, that killed the five. I would definitely recommend.

I don't know why this restaurant only has a 3.5 rating. I don't know if we were there on a good night or if being my birthday made a difference. Either way, my fiancée and I had a FABULOUS time! Our waiter Victor was the absolute best! So attentive, personable, and knew what we wanted before we even asked! My fiancée doesn't care about food like I do. For him to make the face he made after trying the first bite of his pork chop, I knew we chose the right place for birthday! Everything was delicious! The summer menu specials should be permanent! My salmon was sizable and cooked to perfection along with the shrimp. The Summer Peach Pork Chop was to die for along with the chile Mac and cheese! The deviled eggs were a great appetizer although I wish the bacon had been candied a little more. The wine was super chilled and refreshing. And last but not least, THE CARROT CAKE. OMG! Heavenly! I'm picky about carrot cake and this was one of the best I've had! Warm, spiced, actual strings of carrot and that salted caramel sauce, yum! Thank you for the wonderful food, hostess, wait staff and ambience! We will definitely be returning!

Excellent food excellent service great teamwork with you servers and even the manager stopped to buy. Prices are attached on the high level but you need to expect that at a place like this. This is a perfect place to bring a second date, your first date needs to be casual right? I got the fish sandwich with the Caesar salad which the fish sandwich wasn't that impressive but I did enjoy the Caesar salad better. She got the garlic butter tenderloin rare which came out really tender and flavorful. Her BLT salad Topps my Caesar salad which had a nice smokey making flavor in it with diced tomatoes. I do not remember her name but the African American lady was our server and she was rea lly good to us.. July 8th 2024 visit 1:00 p.m.

The food is delicious! My burger was so good. The service seemed a bit slow in the begin with ( we first sat n the bar area and took forever to get drinks and our order placed) then we got seated n the dining area. Our waiter was excellent! It's great for a date night/first date or whatever. There were children there and they were well mannered-but it's not a place for hollering children or just running around. It has a cozy atmosphere.

As you can see from my last review in January 2022 I like this place for lunch or dinner. This place uses wood fire grilling. They use an open flame to cook...pretty much everything. Whether you're craving hand-cut steak, fresh seafood, locally-sourced vegetables, this is your place. I was here with my family of eight including two elementary school children. We were seated at a nice table in the center of the main room. We shared the lobster queso app for $18.50 and the chicken wings with bleu cheese and garlic ranch dressing for $9.95. I started with my two double black diamond martinis with an infusion of fresh pineapple and New Amsterdam pineapple vodka, garnished with a pineapple slice for $12.50 each. I also enjoyed my hand carved slow roasted prime rib steak with homemade au jus and creamy horseradish for $39.95, which has limited availability but was properly cooked medium rare. As usual I also enjoyed the locally sourced port mushrooms for $6.95. Overall I was pleased with my prime rib, mushrooms and our table service. My total bill for my family of eight was $474 including a 20% gratuity. We all agreed we will return here for lunch or dinner.

First time visit on a Monday evening. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean. We had a 3 course entree each including salmon and shrimp and a steak. We also tried their lobster queso that was really delicious. Additionally, we tried the crème brûlée and bread pudding. Very tasty. Good portions. Nice options. Different taste in food for sure with their method of cooking, but not bad at all.

Myself, with my yummy birthday desert!

A wonderful place for a special event with excellent food and service…read more We recently held our daughter's baby shower at Taste of Old Country in Manassas and could not have been happier with how everything turned out. The restaurant is very nice inside and also sells a variety of olive oils and other specialty items. We actually used some of their olive oil packages as prizes for the games during the shower, which worked out perfectly. Elias and Zachery were wonderful from before the event began while we were setting up, throughout the entire shower, and even afterward while we were cleaning up. They obviously knew how to handle an event like this and seemed to know exactly what needed to happen as our guests began arriving and the shower progressed. We had two long tables set up for our group, one seating 14 and the other 12 people. I thought the tables and place settings looked wonderful, and they allowed us to add our own table runners, pumpkin-themed centerpieces, and decorations along both sides of the room. When it was time to eat, the food was set out buffet-style along the bar near the back. The menu was Mediterranean based and included spanakopita, cheese pies (not pizzas), artisan sandwiches, meatballs, stuffed grape leaves, and other items. Everything was absolutely delicious, and there was certainly no shortage of food. We had enough for everyone at the shower, enough left for dinner for eight of us afterward, and still had leftovers for two families to take home. The staff did a great job throughout the event without making us feel rushed, and the entire experience was comfortable and relaxing. Considering the beautiful venue, excellent service, quality and amount of food, and how smoothly everything went, I thought the price was an excellent value. Overall, Taste of Old Country helped make our daughter's baby shower a wonderful event and one we will remember for a long time. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a place in the Manassas area for a shower, family gathering, or other special event. Definitely a five-star experience. Enjoy!

It was moderately busy and there seemed to be a single waiter which was not a problem as the space is small. He was very polite and attentive explaining the menu and what items may take longer in case we were in a hurry. The food was fantastic. We didn't have anything that we wouldn't order again or didn't enjoy. The Margarita pizza was the highlight for us but the mini spanakopitas were a close second. Portions are a healthy size too. We loved it here and can't wait to come back.

Omg so many thoughts on this experience…read more I'm so glad i didn't immediately know it was a restaurant located in a hotel. This prob would have deterred me, even a little bit. The Apple map directions here confused me a little due to this, but parking was really plentiful so that's a huge plus! I went on a Sunday morning and lo and behold there was a hole farmers market or pop up set up all through haymarket! Busy weekend for a brunch but haymarket is SUCH a cute little vibe and town with so many hidden gems, like this one!! Literally every single item I saw waiters bring out from the kitchen looked so scrumptious, every person around us immediately began digging in and enjoying their meals...and honestly, no crumbs were left behind pretty much every time. We started ordering a yummy cocktail. I was really in the mood for the Paloma with grapefruit juice but sadly they were out of grapefruit juice fortunately, they had plenty cocktails available that were not explicitly on the menu! I ended up having a delicious espresso martini, prepared, right and honestly, I would have had another!! Not too sweet. Not creamy. And with 3 beans. Impeccable no notes. I ordered the red House breakfast. Man those home potatoes were so delicious....they clearly cooked them seasoned deliciously and then flash fried, so crunchy!!!! Amazing. I found that their execution on their meals was really impressive. My sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly and paired so yummy with the toast. The bacon had delicious flavor too. I ordered a biscuit because I had heard that their biscuits were really yummy but unfortunately they did not have their bacon biscuit so it was just a classic biscuit. It was good, certainly dense and clearly homemade. My girlfriend got the poutine. Looked so delicious and was really enjoyed! The gravy was thick and flavorful! We sat down and enjoyed plenty of conversation and a really nice environment. Nobody rushed us, service was just the right amount of attentive without interrupting conversation constantly, and the floor to ceiling windows let in beautiful natural light and views of the town. It was the perfect brunch spot for a low-key, but delicious meal. Just a hair out of the way without being too far. I came out with a really good friend of mine to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary with her and it was the perfect possible location. Shout out to the staff for being so welcoming and kind, and even taking a picture of us when we asked to commemorate the occasion. I'm sure they are used to people walking in to the hotel lobby looking as confused as I was looking for red House Tavern.

I received a phone call from a super nice staff member Ashley who confirmed they were open. I arrived shortly after they opened. I was greeted immediately upon entering and was guided to the station to decide on my wine flight. The winery is located in a house like structure. It is quaint and nicely decorated. I chose my 3 wines for my flight and proceeded upstairs to enjoy in their seating area. It is much warmer upstairs and comfy. I was the only one there. They do not have a kitchen on-site but have lots of options for snacks while visiting. Upstairs also has a full tasting bar. There are also some nearby areas that serve food that you can bring inside. The 2 highlights for me was the music selection! During my visit smooth jazz and blues could be enjoyed in the background which just added to the vibe of the place. And one of the owners is also an MSU alumni Go Green!
