Absolutely amazing from start to finish! We were blown away by every dish that came out of the kitchen--the food was incredible, and the ambiance was just as wonderful. We especially loved the cheese wheel--it was such a fun and thoughtful touch! The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming. We're already looking forward to coming back often. Went for drinks and apps, stayed for the live music and good vibes Carbonara is not just serving up authentic Italian cuisine, they're also serving up a whole vibe. We stopped in to check out this newly opened Gainesville spot and ended up settling in for the evening. The martinis were flowing, the appetizers were delicious, and the live music made it way too easy to stay for "just one more." And because apparently we weren't quite ready for the night to end, Spicy Rigatoni and Chicken Parmesan came home with us to enjoy later. Because nothing says responsible decision-making after martinis like making sure you have pasta for later. Such a fun addition to Gainesville's dining scene--we'll definitely be back! read more

Wow. From the minute you walk in- you are greeted with a prosciutto tasting at the door.. We arrived 30 mins early hoping to sit at the bar while we waited (it was packed). They found us seats 30 mins early. Our server was professional and knowledgeable. The bread and sauce- meh. Butter or olive oil would have been better. But the MOZZARELLA IN CARROZZA was hands down the best we've ever had ever. EVER. (Seriously try this). The manager told me to try the PRIME SHORT RIB LASAGNA (sorry for the all caps but I'm copying from the menu). Fantastic and would get it again. 11/10. My husband had the lobster ravioli and it was perfect. Plenty of lobster and a distinct seafood flavor. We had an espresso flight- all were delicious. The Caesar salad with prosciutto with an emphasis on anchovy flavor was excellent. We were asked if we were celebrating anything and we just said "life". So we were given a slice of tiramisu and a candle that said "Congratulations". The staff was so fun and friendly. We enjoyed it all SO much and for a newly opened restaurant we were pretty impressed with the entire experience. Prices were very reasonable and kind of shocking for such an overall great meal. Welcome to Gainesville, Carbonara! We have been to their Arlington location several times, so we decided to check their Gainesville location on their grand opening day! Their have a lunch, HH dinner, and a Dusk Hours menu, in addition to their wine and cocktails. To start off, we ordered the following to share: +the Baked Clams Oreganata - stuffed with breadcrumbs and baked in white wine and butter +Crab Stuffed Mushrooms - stuffed with crab meat and Italian herbs +and, the Nona's Classic Meatballs - a mix of beef, veal, and pork, topped with a Sunday sauce and Parm cheese For our mains, I opted for the Orecchiette (with broccolini, rock shrimp, and cherry tomatoes in a wine and Sunday sauce); my counterparts had the Bucatini Carbonara Table Side (prepared with chopped sweet onions, pancetta, and egg yolk with cream), the Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka (with roasted chicken), and the Filet Mignon Ziti (with filet mignon tips, sauteed onions, mushrooms, and peppers in a brandy sauce). The portions were generous and easily shareable; they were well-presented and came hot! Staff were super friendly and attentive; even though the dinner rush was busy, our party was checked-in often. Let me tell you 20/10 the absolute best experience we've had at an Italian restaurant. Believe me you will NOT be disappointed. I guarantee from the moment you walk in the door until you leave with the most beautiful unique receipt box. The food, I can still taste it, I'm pretty sure I dreamt about it. You have to make a reservation or you will wait I won't tell you how long we waited but let me tell you it was worth every hour... GREAT EXPERIENCE! This location of Carbonara just recently opened and we wanted to give it a try. My friend made us a reservation for two which I highly recommend because this place draws a crowd! Our server was Naomi and we cannot say enough great things about her! We would return just to try more of her recommendations and have a conversation with her. Her bubbly and knowledge on the menu made our visit exceptional. ALL of the staff were attentive and personable. The portions were huge and delicious!! Naomi recommended the fried mozzarella app and WOW!! Everything was out of this world. Parking is available all around the shopping plaza. PERFECT for all occasions!! The restaurants overall vibe and atmosphere was very classy and Italian. The decorations and furniture were very authentic. The service was lovely and the waiters were helpful and kind. Our food came at decent time and the overall presentation of the meal looked very nice. The meal itself was self tasted good but could have tasted better. In conclusion the presentation of the restaurant was beautiful definitely a great experience, but the food could have been better. The prices are higher than you would expect. read more

Had a wonderful experience for lunch with our server Vanya. The food was delicious, the service was spot on and we really enjoyed it. The only disappointment we had was the two desserts we had . The food was spectacular The service was amazing We LOVED our bartender Kevin! He was friendly, kind, went above and beyond and was very attentive! We made reservations for 8:15 but got there and there was room at the bar and we are " bar people" So we opted for that! We were made to feel welcomed and all of my silly questions about the new place were answered! Food was ordered and unfortunately my husband was given( completely by accident) the incorrect order. He can't tolerate spicy food and he was given the spicy veal parm! The Manager had JUST come up to see how the meal was when he was biting into and choking on the spice! WE DID NOT MAKE A BIG DEAL! Accidents happen!, so it was replaced and we moved on! No complaining, we don't do that!!! But after the end of our awesome meal AND a fabulous tiramisu which was mouth watering...our bill was largely discounted and again, we didn't complain OR ask for!!! We over tipped for sure and am giving a MAJOR 1000000% major yelp for this fabulous place that we are now going to be regulars at!! Cannot say enough wonderful things about it! Partner and I planned were discussing dinner options and I remember that carbonara in Gainesville had opened. Decided to call them around 7:57 PM and asked if we were there by 8:30, if they would be able to accommodate us. The young lady said she was going to check availability and came back on the phone around 8:01 and noted that they did have availability and could seat us. I proceeded to give her my name and number and she goes "no I can't hold it. It's only if you're here by then. But if someone else comes in before then they would get priority" and I was explained that if we were going to be coming from about 25 mins out, we would need confirmation that they'd seat us. We didn't want to chance it considering if we drove there and they seated someone else, we'd have to drive back or find something else in the area that we're not as familiar with. I also understand if they didn't have availability and we're doing this. I asked if she could double check to see if she'd be able to make us a reservation instead. She put us on hold for another 5 minutes only to come back and say no. Absolute waste of time. If you want an amazing chicken parm, please check our ciao osteria. One of my favorite dining experiences ever! We were immediately greeted with prosciutto at the front door and a "happy anniversary card". We were seated promptly after passing the homemade pasta station. We ordered the pistachio espresso decaf martini and the distinguished gentleman old fashioned. The martini was in a gorgeous long stemmed glass and the old fashioned was smoked and served in a box that was then opened and served. The bread basket was great with olive tapenade and marinara. The fried mozzarella appetizer with vodka sauce was to die for - so crispy! The carbonara was served table side from the Parmesan wheel! I also enjoyed the spicy vodka chicken rigatoni - best sauce ever - but wish the chicken was a bit more tender. They also had a hard time pushing the Parmesan cart past chairs/tables in the back. We were then served a complimentary tiramisu with "happy anniversary" sprinkled on the plate in cocoa powder. We also received $10 off our bill since it was our wedding anniversary! Our server was wonderful - a blonde woman with dark lipstick but I can't remember her name. She worked at the Arlington location previously. We were STUFFED. Next time, I will ask for the free water because the still bottles are $11! The Frank Sinatra band was amazing but it was hard to hear my husband talking, so we listened to the music then talked in between the songs. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu. I'm so thankful to the chef and the owner for surprising us so many times and for making celebrating 6 years of marriage so special! Gainesville is so lucky to have this restaurant now! read more

I was so excited to hear that Carbonara was opening in Gainesville as it's closer to my home. I went tonight with my daughter, we were not disappointed. The food is outstanding, service outstanding and ambiance is great. You can't go wrong with anything you order. The food is superb. We are native New Yorkers and it's so great to have a true Italian restaurant nearby. This chef truly knows what he's doing. read more
