I've never eaten inside but I go in to pick up my orders. I've been ordering lunch here via the Seamless app for the past couple of months and everything I've tried has been delicious so far! I was really looking forward to my sub. An earlier reviewer commented how they were like the subs he grew up with. I've tried a number of things from Mama Mia: Steak & Cheese sub with steak fries, Gyro, chicken wings, and a pizza. The Steak & Cheese was your standard what you'd expect to find at any sandwich shop. The Gyro meat was not from one of those rotating spits - I saw them pull what appeared to be frozen strips of Gyro meat out and throw them on the flat top grill. Given all that - both the Steak & Cheese and the Gyro were pretty tasty. The steak fries were also good. The pizza was rather ordinary - I ordered a small one with sausage, pepperoni, bell pepper, onion, black olives, mushrooms, and banana peppers. Was not a fan of their pizza. I have been going to Mama Mia's since it opened. It is a very unique place. The food is consistently good and there is a variety from Italian to burgers, or subs. The place is not too busy because of it's location but you will not be disappointed. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. Plenty of open parking as well. read more

Where do i start with Mama Mia's, I've been coming here since I was a kid and I have never been disappointed with the AMAZING food and incredibly kind staff! I have never left this place without being full and satisfied with any of their great menu options! My all time favorite menu item has to be there mouthwatering wings made with there house-made wing sauce... ITS TO DIE FOR! Some of my other favorites include the Tom dooly sub, Greek salad, and any of their amazing pizzas made with the most perfect crust! They are also known for their homemade Italian dressing which I use on almost anything! I loved this place. When we came in we were asked what we would like to drink and I mentioned I wanted a beer such as Shock Top. She told me they didn't have that however they did have a beer from Tin Cannon brewery that she was sure I'd like. Sure enough I did. My husband got the trio pasta dish (lasagna, ravioli and spaghetti), my daughter got their alfredo and I got the white pizza. I typically do not like tomato sauce however she said they make their own recipe so I tried it. It was amazing. Very fresh and the flavor was delicious. Stopped by on the way home from the gym. Figured I had earned the stop. Anyway, as the previous reviewer stated, this is a typical small pizza joint. Having lived in Gainesville for almost 13 years I welcome this type of establishment. Up until a few years ago there was only one other place to get pizza here, Joe's. Then the big chains came to town like Poppa Johns and Domino's. Compared to the chains, Momma Mia is head and shoulders above the cardboard with cheese they sell. Our first taste was a ham and pineapple (Hawaiian) large pizza which also came with a small pizza (promotion). We chose the Greek (garlic in oil, spinach, feta, tomato slices and mozzarella cheese) for the small. Both IMHO and that of my family, were very good. We are going to try the subs and/or dinners next. They have a good selection of things and we are looking forward to the experience. read more

This restaurant has been in my neighborhood area for over 10 years and this is the first time i have visited. It was excellent! We were a little early for dinner on a Saturday, around 5pm, and we were able to choose a comfortable booth. The service was lightning fast, we ordered and received our drinks right away. The food came very quick and was piping hot. I had spaghetti with meat sauce and it was a wonderful sweet red sauce over a well cooked flavorful pasta. So Good! My wife had the Chicken Marsala and was also very pleased. The chicken was tender and the mushrooms and seasoning were right on point. It's a family Italian restaurant that clearly takes great care with the preparation of the dishes. Portions were generous and there were garden salads and a basket of warm soft and crusty garlic bread for the table. We both Had Italian dressing which was a light white dressing. We also tried the carrot cake and chocolate cake for dessert. The carrot cake was moist and had cream cheese frosting, and the chocolate cake was also moist and had a very smooth creamy chocolate frosting. I can honestly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good authentic Italian meal. The menu is extensive, the prices are very reasonable and the staff is super friendly.
