Our waitress, Farrah, was fantastic--she was warm, attentive, and had just the right mix of professionalism and friendliness that really stood out. The food came out surprisingly fast, which was impressive given how fresh and hot everything was. We started with the cheesy bacon fries and paired them with the BBQ ranch (that's what I call it), and it was an absolute game-changer--rich, flavorful, and something we'll definitely be ordering again. Every bite tasted like it was made to order, not rushed or thrown together. The atmosphere was just as enjoyable as the food. This is a wonderful five star restaurant! Some of the most delicious comfort food that you could ask for! I was greeted quickly even though it was the busy diner time at 6:30. Nice vibe and energy- other guests had great looking food and seemed to really be enjoying their meals. And when you walk in and are hit with that delicious smell you know you've made the right choice. I took a seat at a booth, comfortable and clean tables. I mostly knew what I wanted so I quickly ordered a soft drink and 12" Philly cheese steak with a side of onion rings. It was a lot more food than I realized. Very fair portions for all the food. Nice quality meat and cheese on the sub and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. The onion rings were cooked properly with nice meaty pieces of onion inside. Yes yes yes!! Good food all the way around. Nice fresh salad. My favorite is the eggplant parmigiana. And I am very picky about this particular dish. I find it hard to choose anything else. Pizza was awesome, taste and texture is like a nyc pizza but less floppier.pepperonni rolls were delicious too, marinara sauce was great. The steak and cheese did not carry so well, you would need to eat it there. Brought it home and it was soggy from the grease, the entire bun! I was really looking forward to my sub. An earlier reviewer commented how they were like the subs he grew up with. I've never eaten inside but I go in to pick up my orders. I've been ordering lunch here via the Seamless app for the past couple of months and everything I've tried has been delicious so far! The pastas are too much food for lunch so I always have leftovers for dinner. The sandwiches, gyros and lunch specials are the perfect portion for a lunchtime meal. I've tried a number of things from Mama Mia: Steak & Cheese sub with steak fries, Gyro, chicken wings, and a pizza. The Steak & Cheese was your standard what you'd expect to find at any sandwich shop. The Gyro meat was not from one of those rotating spits - I saw them pull what appeared to be frozen strips of Gyro meat out and throw them on the flat top grill. Given all that - both the Steak & Cheese and the Gyro were pretty tasty. The steak fries were also good. The pizza was rather ordinary - I ordered a small one with sausage, pepperoni, bell pepper, onion, black olives, mushrooms, and banana peppers. Was not a fan of their pizza. I have been going to Mama Mia's since it opened. It is a very unique place. The food is consistently good and there is a variety from Italian to burgers, or subs. The place is not too busy because of it's location but you will not be disappointed. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. Plenty of open parking as well. read more

Where do i start with Mama Mia's, I've been coming here since I was a kid and I have never been disappointed with the AMAZING food and incredibly kind staff! I have never left this place without being full and satisfied with any of their great menu options! My all time favorite menu item has to be there mouthwatering wings made with there house-made wing sauce... ITS TO DIE FOR! Some of my other favorites include the Tom dooly sub, Greek salad, and any of their amazing pizzas made with the most perfect crust! They are also known for their homemade Italian dressing which I use on almost anything! This place is definitely a gem in Gainesville and the perfect place to go when looking for a home cooked delicious meal! Stopped by on the way home from the gym. Figured I had earned the stop. Anyway, as the previous reviewer stated, this is a typical small pizza joint. Having lived in Gainesville for almost 13 years I welcome this type of establishment. Up until a few years ago there was only one other place to get pizza here, Joe's. Then the big chains came to town like Poppa Johns and Domino's. Compared to the chains, Momma Mia is head and shoulders above the cardboard with cheese they sell. Our first taste was a ham and pineapple (Hawaiian) large pizza which also came with a small pizza (promotion). We chose the Greek (garlic in oil, spinach, feta, tomato slices and mozzarella cheese) for the small. Both IMHO and that of my family, were very good. We are going to try the subs and/or dinners next. They have a good selection of things and we are looking forward to the experience. read more

I loved this place. When we came in we were asked what we would like to drink and I mentioned I wanted a beer such as Shock Top. She told me they didn't have that however they did have a beer from Tin Cannon brewery that she was sure I'd like. Sure enough I did. My husband got the trio pasta dish (lasagna, ravioli and spaghetti), my daughter got their alfredo and I got the white pizza. I typically do not like tomato sauce however she said they make their own recipe so I tried it. It was amazing. Very fresh and the flavor was delicious.
