WOW! I cannot believe the other low reviews of this restaurant. I ordered takeout here and want to come back to dine in. The food here is delicious! This might be the best restaurant I've been to in D.C. area for super flavorful food. Quality rivals Turkish food I had in east Asia. Service for takeout was also pretty prompt. I think I'm a pretty picky person when it comes to liking food and thinking quality is worth the price, and this place was exceptionally good. You should definitely check it out.

The vibe is more casual than I would have expected at the prices, but the food is amazing! The chicken kebab is spiced PERFECTLY and the accompanying salad is delicious. Even the rice is good--it is clearly cooked with butter :-) Great and attentive staff as well.

Popped by Moda for a coffee and nibble. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the desserts similarly. My partner and I both opted for a mocha, both were beautifully presented and tasty. Alongside that we got the pastirma, almost like a Turkish flatbread. That was tasty with gooey cheese and two varieties of meats. Where the experience lacked was service. The usage of the iPad as a menu seemed innovative but confusing as the hostess simply handed it to us and walked away - we thought it was how you ordered but it was just for viewing. Although the environment is beautiful it felt unwelcoming. After asking the hostess for a table for two, her next response was "sure but you can only hold the table for 90 minutes" - during a time when the restaurant was nearly empty with only three other tables in usage. The information felt unnecessary for the situation and left us feeling uncertain about our stay. A similar energy existed with staff in general, lacking warmth and acknowledgment.

We had a few hiccups with getting water and having to ask twice for a menu item that wasn't put on our order. But the ambiance was really nice with beautiful fixtures and lighting. We enjoyed the food and coffee a lot.

The service and food was amazing. Toghrul took care of our large party. This is a great spot for brunch.

Pulled Lamb Benedict

We had a wonderful breakfast in Virginia. We tried the eggplant toast and the pulled lamb, and both dishes were excellent. I was surprised to see some of the lower ratings on Yelp. My guess is that many of those reviews were left during the restaurant's soft opening period. Before deciding, I would recommend comparing the Yelp reviews with the Google Maps reviews. The reason I'm writing this review is that I genuinely believe this place deserves its current 4.6-star rating, if not an even higher one. The service was attentive and professional, the presentation was beautiful, and the quality of the food exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend this spot for breakfast.

We happened to be in the Chantilly, VA area and I remembered hearing about Moda Cafe, so we decided to stop in for breakfast. We ordered the Turkish Brunch for Two, which came with an assortment of spreads, fresh bread, two different styles of eggs, French fries, a Turkish cheese stick, and two small hot teas. Everything was delicious -- I could've eaten the spreads all day. Although it's listed as a brunch for two, it's definitely enough for 3-4 people to share. I also ordered a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice, which was great. The restaurant itself was clean with plenty of seating, and they have a big selection of desserts on display that looked really good. Service was okay, nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. It did seem like they have a lot of regulars, and the staff interaction with them felt a bit different. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and if I'm in the area again, I'd love to come back and try their lunch or dinner menu.

$81 without tip

This was $81 without tip, they use to give you better bread and the tea pot was included but now they charge 10$ for tea pot and give you basic bread. Very disappointed with what this place his become.

San Sebastian with Chocolate Sauce - Single

We had such a great experience at Moda Cafe & Restaurant! We tried the pastrami, falafel, and smoked turkey sandwiches, and everything was absolutely delicious. The mezze selection was incredible, and every single one we tried was full of flavor. My personal favorite was the beet mezze. It was so good! For dessert, we had the San Sebastian cheesecake, and it was amazing. The chocolate on top was especially delicious. We were told it's made with Belgian chocolate, and you can definitely taste the quality. We also loved the atmosphere. The restaurant is modern, spacious, and very welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. We'll definitely be coming back!

This place was truly spectacular! Stepping into it was like stepping into another world with its bright ambiance and the artwork that was each dessert in the display. I got some of the savory baked goods, and the biscotti cake with some coffee and it was absolutely divine. The staff was very sweet and calm despite the big rush that was there. I went back for a total of 3 times during my 2 week stay; it was really that good. A gem in NOVA!

Moda is a gorgeous, Turkish-style cafe with beautiful decor and hanging lights. Both their menu and staff are truly Turkish, from their Turkish brunch menu to their Turkish tea, Turkish delights, and the waiter's Turkish hats. The food is pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The Turkish brunch and desserts are where they really shine. They also have surprisingly really yummy iced lattes, and amazing tea of course. I'm really surprised this place doesn't have better reviews because it's one of my favorite spots- and they're also open extra late during Ramadan (until 4am)!! Love Moda cafe downnnn

Lahmajun

Service is variable. I sat for what seemed to be a long time until I was waited. on. The atmosphere is a mixture of spare tables in an over decorated space. There are many menu items worth exploring. I enjoyed the Lahmajun, a sort of ground beef flatbread.

Chicken Adana Kebab

Big fan of Moda Cafe! It looks so unassuming from the outside but once you walk in you are greeted with bright decor and a positive atmosphere. The seating is almost divided between tables catering to the cafe vs more seating for the restaurant. We came as a group of 5 for dinner on a Saturday night. We didn't have a wait - got seated right away without having a reservation. Our orders were promptly taken and food was relatively quick to arrive. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals! I had the chicken adana kebab and would definitely get it again. I especially love when cafes/restaurants are kid-friendly and Moda Cafe was great! Everyone on the staff was so nice to my toddler. She got crayons and an activity book upon getting seated in her high chair. We ordered hummus for her and she loved it! They do have a kids menu but the hummus appetizer sounded better to us. They have diaper changing tables in the bathrooms (surprising how many places don't). Definitely recommend for a meal with kids. When you dine-in you will notice that occasionally the music gets very loud and it either means their signature on fire meal is coming out or a birthday dessert & song is coming. I found this disruptive at first because it's so loud you can't speak with others in your party. However by the time we left we were all clapping along each time the music came on :) Save room for tea & dessert! At the end of our meal we were treated to Turkish tea & treats - so great! And this was after we polished off dessert. My husband, daughter, and I split the Moda Pudding cup, the pistachio & chocolate flavor. It was sooo good! We ended up coming back again more recently to get this dessert again, for takeout. All the desserts in the case look so great. I do highly recommend the Moda Pudding or the Pistachio Magnolia (the Dubai Tower was just okay to me).

Side salad - way too many onions!

Ali was our server, and he was incredibly kind and helpful. The menu has so many options that we probably would have sat there forever trying to decide without his recommendations. Our favorite dish was the lamb, which can be ordered by the pound. It was so juicy, tender, and flavorful. We also loved the mild Korma Chop, the pumpkin Kawa Manta, the Cold Egg Noodles, and the beef and tripe. The Dolan Gul Chai was incredible. My friend and I finished the entire pot and refilled it with hot water twice. For dessert, we shared the Dolan Cake and the Sütlaç rice pudding. My friend preferred the cake, while I especially enjoyed the creamy texture of the rice pudding. There are so many more dishes on the menu that we want to try. We will definitely be back. Incredibly…read moregratifying especially in the rich flavors and succulent taste & textures of the food served at dinner. Ali, Raoul, and the spectacular staff of Ocean8 for created a superb dining experience & introduction to exotic Ugyhur & Afghan cuisine. The staff and people we met there and dined with were very kind & gracious towards us. It was our first experience with Uyghur and Afghan cuisine and food we never had. All of the food was highly delicious. We had appetizers, dinner, and desserts in a buffet style. Servers came to our table and provided cups of ice and canned / bottled drinks of water and soda to us. The manager, Raoul, went from table to table to talk and provide assistance to us and all of the guests. Despite the huge crowd of diners, the staff were very professional and made sure all the guests needs were met. The appetizers we sampled were the: *Turkish Cheese Rolls The Star of all the appetizers. We loved the rich, lush, and creamy flavor. It was ideal to eat this appetizer first before sampling the other appetizers. ( Crispy, thin pastry rolls filled with creamy feta cheese and fresh parsley, lightly fried to perfection - reminiscent of the Italian version of a mozzarella stick) * Punjabi Samosa This appetizer gave an intense punch of flavor & spice in the first bite. It was the spiciest, unique, & most memorable flavor among all the appetizers served. ( A Punjabi Samosa is a crispy, golden pastry filled with a spiced blend of potatoes, peas, and aromatic herbs. Deep-fried to perfection and served with tangy tamarind and zesty mint chutneys. A classic North Indian street food favorite. * Uyghur Samosa Very easy to eat, delicious, and reminded me of a hand held version of chicken pot pie. My least favorite yet still a good appetizer. ( It is a breaded appetizer filled with seasoned minced beef and onions, topped with sesame seeds. ) This was the last appetizer I ate, and it reminded me of an Asian & Arabic smaller version of a chicken pot pie. Very tasty. ) * Afghan Homestyle Bolani I love how it was mildly flavored with spice and it was like an Afghan version of a quesadilla. ( An Afghan Bolani is a crispy, stuffed potato flatbread from Afghanistan filled with potatoes, green onion, chili peppers, and fresh herbs. It's pan fried until golden brown and crispy then cut into wedges.) * Garden Salad - A fresh and vibrant mix of cucumber, tomato, onions, and peppers. Dinner was Uyghur Pilaf Rice, Lamb chops, Uyghur Lamb Shish Kebab , a meatloaf like burger with an onion filling inside it, Ocean8 Chicken Chops, and Cacık Yogurt. The dinner entrees had more spice and intense flavors than the appetizers. My favorite entree was the lamb chop especially when eaten with the side of Uyghur pilaf rice and the cacik yogurt. The other meat dishes were superb in their flavor, spices, and presentation as well. Cacik, pronounced ja-jik is a Turkish yogurt and cucumber dish that's very common in almost all regions in Turkey. It was my favorite side & condiment to combine with the rice and dinner entrees. It reminded me of raita, and I ate the cacik with my dinner entrees the way I would eat raita. Raita is a classic Indian side dish made with cool, creamy yogurt, crisp cucumber, onions, and fresh herbs. It's a flavorful way to balance out the bold, spicy flavors of Indian food. We ordered two takeouts of the dessert we wanted to try at home after eating so much at the restaurant - the Tiramisu Cake. It was light, airy, and melted in your mouth - dessert perfection in taste and texture. I usually skip dessert but I could resist not trying this dessert. Overall, we were very highly satisfied and grateful for our dining experience at Ocean 8. We look forward to having future food experiences there.

Taste of Istanbul was a delightful experience. I ordered the combination kebab platter to sample a bit of everything, and not a single item disappointed. Even the rice exceeded expectations, as it was well-seasoned and genuinely delicious rather than just a side dish. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, and the outdoor seating makes it an especially enjoyable spot when the weather is nice. I ordered the Adana Kebab which is the minced beef & lamb log that many kebab shops offer. And this restaurant's seemed inferior to many of my regular kebab shops that I go to. I have been to Turkey and had the Baklawa there and this is right up there in terms of quality & taste. It was warmed up and sitting in a puddle of sweetened honey, but the pastry was still perfectly flaky and didn't taste soggy at all.
