This place looks nice but the poor service and and mediocre quality of their pastries leave a lot to be desired. They had us waiting half an hour for our bakery order. This wouldve been fine if they told us it would take this long. Eventually we asked for a refund and even that took a long time. We had to wait for the manager who didnt even acknowledge us. My wife and I just had a stellar experience here. Its a beautiful place with a casual clientele, friendly staff (happy to accommodate us newbies), and the food was incredible. The wait wasn't bad at the moment, but we sat down asked for water and waited and waited, I swear 20min passed and the waitress was serving everyone else and giving waters to all other tables and totally forgot to give us waters. We were just there watching her and waiting and waiting. Once she came the second time then she brought waters. After that, she brought our food and that's it. Never came to check on us or refill our waters, we were literally just staring at her AGAIN waiting for her to acknowledge us. At that point we were furious and wanted to leave and just wanted the check, we STILL waited and waited. Once she came all she said was "Oh sorry I been busy" like that's my problem. This place is just awful and deserves 0 stars. The service was disorganized and the waiter was rude, wouldn't even explain items on the menu that weren't in English, and inattentive. No refilling our drinks and rude responses to any question we asked. They forgot to bring us half our order then got irritated when we tried to make sure we weren't charged for missing items. The food was a rip off price wise. Way better places in this area, don't waste your time, $ here even if it looks pretty or appetizing in pics. So let's get started! For the beginners you don't allow your staff to walk around with their hair down and playing with their hair while serving people's food. Also, when approaching customers try to be professional and not flirty-wrong place to flirt! And not describing the platters and pushing to buy more expensive platter that would put a smile on your face as waiter-wrong! Another and most important thing, if you should, train your staff do it when we the customers are not around. The supervising guy -or it sims he was giving orders, was talking to girls to the level their mood went from 3 to -10 and then one of the girls had to look at her self in a mirror and smile to herself to lift her mood up- not a good glimpse for us the customers to catch while trying to enjoy our meal. If you must, offer your staff their own size of uniform instead having them wear oversized T-shirts which are wrinkled and make their chest on display and order under shirts bare. Long story short-hire a skilled manager who could turn things around before it goes down hill. Next, serving bread that was baked three days ago is wrong on sooo many levels! Simit was warmed in microwave and turned into complete wood in moments it got to our table. The hard boiled egg were from the fridge as it was sweating on our table just as any eggs from fridge do when reach the room temperature from cold. Ambience, we could tell the owner didn't spare money on it but it is too much. Too many details and too many mirrors that offer you of glimpse of things you shouldn't see like supervisor grinding his teeth on staff. Not pleasant. read more

Service was so awful. I haven't had service that bad in awhile. We waiting 10 minutes to be served and once the food came and we finished, she did not come to check back. We waited 30 minutes to get our check. I had to go up to the hostess who was not friendly and didn't look like she wanted to be there, how do we pay cause we've been sitting there for so long and she said your server will be with you... had to ask her again to grab our server after 5 minutes. They then grab a different server to check us out. I got the spaghetti bolognese and it looked sloppy and the portion was so small for $18. One of the worst service experiences at a restaurant. Water was served very late, food was served without plates, the waiting staff didn't know their menu and the waiter disappeared half way through. Moda cafe is one of the nicest cafes i have ever been to!! For one it is pretty large, and super super cute I mean ambience 10/10! The workers are incredibly accommodating and friendly, not just one of them all of them! Me and my friends got white peach ginger tea for the table which was so fragrant and refreshing and came in the cutest little pot. They have a variety of cakes and deserts which we sampled which were so yum, some I've never seen before like pistachio. The place is nice, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly. However, we were charged an unexpected $50 fee just because we were a group of 7. This charge was not mentioned to us beforehand. If I had known about this policy in advance, I would have chosen a different place. For the brunch we ordered the Turkish breakfast for 2 and it was AMAZING it will actually feed more than 2 people. Yesterday, we went to Moda Cafe, we liked the design of the restaurant and we appreciated the good service offered from the very nice waitress. But we tried to see the electronics menu not working at all and they don't have a paper menu, so we are not able to figure out about wish dishes we like to order! Please note if you speak turkish or look it you will be treated very different, versus someone who may look South Asian or on the darker side. I was almost in tears with the bad service I received from the waitress and reported it to management and all they kept asking was but was the food ok? Then he goes I wouldn't want you leaving here with bad experience, and disappears!! He avoided eye contact after that, and had another waited bring us the bill.
