    Doner kebab
    Mark Q.

Ate here for lunch in fall 2024, and had the doner kebabs. I had a choice of what they guy called Turkish style (a wrap) or bread style. I got the Turkish style. The doner was good, but the sauce came on the side. And the tightly wrapped nature of it made it hard to get the sauce on there. So it was a bit dry. Fries came with the doner. They were perfectly crisp and warm, but so overly salted that I couldn't finish them. That was kind of a fail. By biggest issue was the price. The doner and fries were 14.99, which felt like too much for a lunch. And that was the cheapest thing on the menu. It just isn't something I would see as a viable routine lunch option at that price.

Although I waited a bit for my food, I very much enjoyed my delicious lamb chops! Looking forward to my next visit.

No clue why we have never been here... found as we were looking for places near Lowes... while it's small inside in terms of tables... it's not on flavor ! Hubby and I shared the babaganoush, coban salad, and the lamb chops. We thought we had ordered too much but it was so tasty we ate it all... then a couple pieces of baklava... chocolate for me and walnut for him. Really liked the coban salad... if you like hot ask for the hot peppers... they pack a punch but ohhh yum! Glad he asked if we liked heat. The lamb chops came with similar assortment if veggies as the salad minus the dressing... so we tossed all together... yum! The babaganoush was fabulous... nice and smokey which I liked. Ohhhh we also tried the mango & pineapple uludag drink... lots of sugar but nice and fruity! Glad we found!

First time trying Ottoman Kitchen, but I wasn't able to see the actual establishment, as I ordered delivery. Even though I can't comment much on the place and service, I can definitely say that the food was worth it. I ended up ordering the Lamb Doner Iskender, which had thinly sliced lamb doner mixed with sauce and pita bread. Also had a side of garlic yogurt and veggies. I was famished, but the meal was honestly delicious. Meat was tender, cooked well, and sauced up. Overall, a much needed meal and I would try again.

Over the years when I am at an event at the nearby Dullles Expo Center, I make sure to walk around the corner to Ottoman Kitchen. It is a small establishment next to a variety of other interesting restaurants. There is a small dining area but most business is take out. The menu is extensive with a variety of lamb and beef options primarily. The portions are generous, the service speedy and the employees very congenial. Now I always come for the lentil soup, a smoothly blended savory soup with mild spices. It comes with a piece of bread that makes a great dip in the soup. I tried a sample of a beef and lamb grilled meatball and it was nicely flavored and tasty. My friend chose a veggie burger when the falafel was sold out, much to her dismay. However the veggie burger came with a choice of accompaniments. The side is standard fries, for those that are not very adventurous. There is a profusion of desserts, most made with pistachios. I tried the filo, honey and pistachio wedge twice and it was a delicious blend of nutty and sweet. The food is cooked to order for the most part. If you like to go off the standard restuarant fare and try something a bit different, try Ottoman Kitchen. The menu items are tasty and mild enough for modt any palate.

The only Turkish restaurant with a real doner meat, all other places use gyro meat. Delicious and fresh meat and true Turkish chefs.

The food was good especially the walnut sauce and the chicken kebabs were so moist and tender.

The atmosphere is modern and inviting, and not overwhelming. I ordered food to-go because I did not want to deal with the Hookah smoke, and this is what I suggest for anyone else not comfortable with Hookah. The food is absolutely worth it! I ordered the Uyghur Samosa and Lamb Kabob. Uyghur Samosas are flaky, buttery pastries packed with a ground meat mixture(just like Vietnamese Pate Chaud!). Super delicious. Now, I'm not a lamb guy but the lamb kabob just blew me out of the water. Not gamy in the slightest, the meat is tender and has plenty of spice. Pickled onions and pita are a nice compliment. Could not recommend the lamb enough!! Please do yourself a favor and visit Ocean8, they deserve more recognition.

Incredibly…read moregratifying especially in the rich flavors and succulent taste & textures of the food served at dinner. Ali, Raoul, and the spectacular staff of Ocean8 for created a superb dining experience & introduction to exotic Ugyhur & Afghan cuisine. The staff and people we met there and dined with were very kind & gracious towards us. It was our first experience with Uyghur and Afghan cuisine and food we never had. All of the food was highly delicious. We had appetizers, dinner, and desserts in a buffet style. Servers came to our table and provided cups of ice and canned / bottled drinks of water and soda to us. The manager, Raoul, went from table to table to talk and provide assistance to us and all of the guests. Despite the huge crowd of diners, the staff were very professional and made sure all the guests needs were met. The appetizers we sampled were the: *Turkish Cheese Rolls The Star of all the appetizers. We loved the rich, lush, and creamy flavor. It was ideal to eat this appetizer first before sampling the other appetizers. ( Crispy, thin pastry rolls filled with creamy feta cheese and fresh parsley, lightly fried to perfection - reminiscent of the Italian version of a mozzarella stick) * Punjabi Samosa This appetizer gave an intense punch of flavor & spice in the first bite. It was the spiciest, unique, & most memorable flavor among all the appetizers served. ( A Punjabi Samosa is a crispy, golden pastry filled with a spiced blend of potatoes, peas, and aromatic herbs. Deep-fried to perfection and served with tangy tamarind and zesty mint chutneys. A classic North Indian street food favorite. * Uyghur Samosa Very easy to eat, delicious, and reminded me of a hand held version of chicken pot pie. My least favorite yet still a good appetizer. ( It is a breaded appetizer filled with seasoned minced beef and onions, topped with sesame seeds. ) This was the last appetizer I ate, and it reminded me of an Asian & Arabic smaller version of a chicken pot pie. Very tasty. ) * Afghan Homestyle Bolani I love how it was mildly flavored with spice and it was like an Afghan version of a quesadilla. ( An Afghan Bolani is a crispy, stuffed potato flatbread from Afghanistan filled with potatoes, green onion, chili peppers, and fresh herbs. It's pan fried until golden brown and crispy then cut into wedges.) * Garden Salad - A fresh and vibrant mix of cucumber, tomato, onions, and peppers. Dinner was Uyghur Pilaf Rice, Lamb chops, Uyghur Lamb Shish Kebab , a meatloaf like burger with an onion filling inside it, Ocean8 Chicken Chops, and Cacık Yogurt. The dinner entrees had more spice and intense flavors than the appetizers. My favorite entree was the lamb chop especially when eaten with the side of Uyghur pilaf rice and the cacik yogurt. The other meat dishes were superb in their flavor, spices, and presentation as well. Cacik, pronounced ja-jik is a Turkish yogurt and cucumber dish that's very common in almost all regions in Turkey. It was my favorite side & condiment to combine with the rice and dinner entrees. It reminded me of raita, and I ate the cacik with my dinner entrees the way I would eat raita. Raita is a classic Indian side dish made with cool, creamy yogurt, crisp cucumber, onions, and fresh herbs. It's a flavorful way to balance out the bold, spicy flavors of Indian food. We ordered two takeouts of the dessert we wanted to try at home after eating so much at the restaurant - the Tiramisu Cake. It was light, airy, and melted in your mouth - dessert perfection in taste and texture. I usually skip dessert but I could resist not trying this dessert. Overall, we were very highly satisfied and grateful for our dining experience at Ocean 8. We look forward to having future food experiences there.
