We came here because they are connected to our favorite chicken karhi restaurant in Arlington. We ordered chicken karhi and chick peas. Each karhi is made to order. The chicken was tender and the sauce was bright however not as spicy as I'd prefer. The chick peas were creamy and the flavor was good however not as rich as my favorite favorite place in Arlington. The bread was the highlight. It's topped with sesame seeds. Hot puffy and fresh. Overall I'd say the food was a 3. The service was good. The space is clean and not too cramped. I'd give this closer to 3.5 stars if possible. The food was pretty good! The chicken sheesh kebab was delicious! I love all the herbs and seasoning in it. It paired really well with the fluffy white rice, fresh salad, and green sauce. I also enjoyed the biryani's flavor and thought the tandoor chicken was decent. I loved the spinach side and thought it was well seasoned. The chickpeas were good but a bit underseasoned. This is our go to spot for Pakistani food. They have the best traditional Chicken Karahi with other dishes that are also good with bread that is freshly made the traditional way. Khan Kabob House is a Pakistani eatery that is near the Dulles airport area. I was highly recommended to this place by a fellow colleague after discussing a love I have for chicken karahi. She stated that she and her family go here literally on a weekly basis on the weekends, even throwing in a few lunches during the week! The menu offers samosas as appetizers; they also have kabobs (boneless chicken, white meat chicken, chapal, seekh, etc.), house specialties (such as the karahi andt he mughaz masala), fried frish, daily specials (such as chicken curry, chicken keema, palak, etc.), and weekend offerings (such as the paya and the nehari). The hubs and I came here on a weekend, and we ordered the Chicken Karahi and the Haleem, which was also highly recommended. The Karahi was okay - it wasn't too spicy, even though we had asked for medium; the chicken was a little dried out, and the sauce could have been a bit more flavorful; we found it to be more on the bland side, and while karahi does have oil in it, this seems to be a bit more oily than usual. The haleem was a bit better - the mix of the lentils mad this very porridge-like, and you can taste the spices. It was good to dip the bread in and was very filling. You order and pay up at the cashier, and once your order is called out, you just pick it up at the counter. There are plenty of seats to dine-in, and there are plenty of spots to park in the shared business plaza lot. I've been yearning for some REAL Pakistani food lately, as there are sooo many Indian joints, but very few Pakistani places. And when I do find a Pakistani place, some dumb-down the food to make it "Americanized" which really takes away from the amazing, robust and authentic flavors that make this sooo much better than Indian food. So, recently I learned about Khan Kabob on social media and decided to give it a try for dinner. I don't do the typical "Chicken Tikka" (until I've been to a place many times), I like to start with items like Shami or Chapli kabobs, keema, saag, etc and then for a typical staple that's popular, I always opt for a samosa and channa as well. On this particular visit, I was so happy to see Keema in the case, as it's very rare that anyone makes this. Turns out, it's a Thursday night treat there! They make it from chicken too, which is fine with me... I grew up eating it with minced beef, but appreciate it made with chicken or lamb too. So, I asked the young man for some of that, a single chapli kabob (made spicy), a single samosa and a small bowl of channa. He had all of this prepared pretty quickly for me (probably a 10 min wait) and I commenced to feasting! First, I can't stand anything on my naan, to me it's an American thing to put butter (or ghee) and sesame seeds on it and they do that here. I actually asked for no butter, but it came buttered anyway and I took it, because it looked amazing and I have to say, it was really good! I didn't like the sesame seeds on it, but I dealt with the greasiness of the butter, as the texture and cook on the bread was spot-on! The channa was stewed down and thick-sauced, exactly how I prefer it to be! The chapli kabob had a PERFECT season and spice to it - again, exactly how it's supposed to be! The keema was outstanding! Nice spice mix used in it and the texture of the meat was outstanding! They even tossed in a little aloo to help with the flavor and texture and I loved that! Something this place does extremely well is their chutney! So many places you go these days use watered-down chutney, but not Khan, it's perfectly thick and loaded with flavor, as it's supposed to be! The only mediocre thing was the somosa, it was pretty good, but not on the same scale as everything else, but I would definitely order it again, as I did like it. Service was outstanding! The guy who took my order (one of the two brother who were running the business for their dad that night) was friendly and helpful. I also really loved the smell in this place, as soon as I walked in, it reminded me of being in Pakistan. Once you get a taste for food the way it's supposed to be made, it's difficult to get that memory out of your mind and you tend to hold everyone else to that basic standard and I have to say, they didn't disappoint when I visited. I will most definitely be back and try more, perhaps their Chicken Karahi, as that looked outstanding (I saw it on another table). read more

Read mixed reviews about Khan Kabob and avoided trying it out till recently. B and his coworkers have been here before and told me that they really enjoyed their kabobs, so here I am. We placed our order to go and it takes some time for their food to get ready. The kabobs are freshly prepared. Their chicken and lamb kabobs were on point. It has awesome flavor and I became an instant fan. The naan and veggies are all delicious as well. Their chick peas are amazing, they remind me of my favorite chick peas from a restaurant in Arlington, VA. The naan is so fresh and fluffy. The don't skimp on flavor here, your tastebuds will be happy. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place. Khan Kabob is definitely one of my favorite eateries in Chantilly. It's located in a sort of inconspicuous plaza. They serve Pakistani food. You might wait a little bit after ordering, but it's absolutely worth it. Every time I come here I order exactly the same thing. The boneless chicken kabob. All orders are accompanied by a salad, naan bread, and rice. You also have the option of another side either lentils or chickpeas. The chickpeas are awesome, although the lentils are also amazing. The vegetable samosa is also a good choice; however, I find it a tad too spicy. I believe every day they have a daily special. But I'm not too sure because like I said I always order the same thing. Since I've gotten very sick I can only eat softer mushier food. Despite having read some of the negative reviews of this restaurant I decided to try their haleem because so far the two restaurants just don't measure up. My son ordered boneless chicken kabob and I ordered haleem and another order of boneless chicken kabob to go for my husband. The kabobs come with salad, 1 side item, rice and 1 naan. We both chose chickpeas for the side. The chicken looked juicy & the light taste of squeezed lemon juice truly brought out the flavors. I tried a tiny spoon of chickpeas and they were delicious. Subdued cafeteria-style decor, maybe eight decently sized tables. ATM inside the door in case you can't make the $7 credit card minimum, but that's easy if you get an entree. One conservatively sized TV mounted on the wall. Service was very polite, he didn't add the sides until we arrived, and two plasticware packages were included in the takeout bag. The only beef offering was ground, so we opted for lamb. Lamb kabobs were okay, just a crisp of char at the edges. Mine was a little dry and WD's was seasoned better. Salad was just some chopped lettuce and tomato, very fresh but the greens could've used a quick pat after washing or a whirl in a salad spinner. Yogurt sauce was mild and a bit watery, not a whole lot of flavor. Lahori choley had an unusual flavor of hardboiled egg, but otherwise needed more seasoning; not sure that I've had chickpeas quite that mushy before. Bread was thicker than I'm used to, but still decent. Two and a half stars for now, nothing really blew my mind or made me wrinkle my nose. Snapped photos of the menu since their website isn't fully operational. Interesting that they're open until 11 pm, most food joints close at 10 pm in the 'burbs. The food is decent if you're in a rush. I attempted to place a large order and the person taking my order seemed inexperienced. They ended up overcharging me compared to the prices at the store. Specifically, they charged me $11.00 per skewer that was supposed to have five pieces, whereas the store charges $9 or less for the same item. Honestly, Middle Eastern food is extremely new to me so I wanted to make sure I had a little more understanding of the flavors and names before willy nilly reviewing this place. After going here with a huge group a few weeks ago and having an awesome experience, I'm kind of bummed with my experience this time...especially knowing what the quality should be like. My first visit, we got the family platter and I got to try EVERYTHING! It was great and I had no complaints! The vegetable samosas and gulab jamun blew my mind! This time, I was underwhelmed. I came here for lunch with my boss. I ordered the #5 - seekh kabob meal; and Michael ordered the #9 - chicken seekh kabob meal. The sides are customisable so I got the rice and lahori cholay (chick peas) and Michael got the rice and dal (lentils). The meals come with HUGE tandoori bread which tastes amazing dipped in the lahori cholay and dal! Also included is a little side salad that's pretty bland. A big negative was the wait. There was only one person waiting in front of us, but we waited for quite a while before our food came out. Everything tasted great except my seekh kabob, which was really overcooked. Luckily I just doused it in the chutney provided and it ended up being better. It made me really wish I had ordered something else though. It was pretty disappointing. Overall, I would give this place 3.5 stars. My experience today really lowered my desire to come back anytime soon. read more

As someone who grew up on Ravi Kabob (in Arlington) as a child, I was so glad when I ended up moving close to and discovering Khan Kabob. There is no shortage of kabob joints in Northern VA, but I have always found Khan Kabobs meat to be of the highest quality and always tasting fresh and "clean". Their loyal following of Pakistani customers will attest to their authenticity, but Pakistani food is really for all people of any culture to try and enjoy.
