Stopped in here on a whim, and I'm glad I did. I went with the chicken and lamb combo. Both were solid, though if I did it again I'd go with just the chicken. There are a lot of mixed reviews on this spot but I decided to try based on the numerous photos submitted and the food looks great. Kabobs are usually priced around the price that this restaurant has priced their menu items at so I believe it is fair. I cannot review for takeout, but for dine-in, there was enough food that I had leftovers and had to ask for a to-go box because I could not finish the rice. The food is flavorful, they add a lot of little touches like a slice of lime, two different sauces for you, and a giant piece of bread. Mango Lassi is $6 but is made fresh. read more

Disappointed with my take-out. The chicken was dry and the portions were tiny. The rice was dry and had zero flavor. We maybe got 4oz of chicken per order. Chicken at Restaurant Depot is 1.50 a pound. The rice has pickled carrots and beans on it which are sweet and don't seem to fit in the flavor profile of the dish. The sides are tiny. A tablespoon of white sauce in each to-go cup was odd. The sauce is cheap to make, like VERY cheap. I won't be getting my Kebobs from here again. We stopped at this kabob place on the recommendation of a friend that specifically liked their chickpeas. My wife ordered the Super Combo Deluxe (lamb, shami, and chicken kabob platter) and I had the chicken breast kabob, both with a side of chickpeas (of course). Service was great, and the food oustanding! My chicken was tender and tasty, the nan bread freash out of the oven, and the chickpeas taste and creamy, deliscious! I'm a repeat customer! I've dined in once but usually take out. I love their chicken breast kabob dish although I do think the meat portion could be bigger. It comes with a large portion of rice that is I think is infused with saffron and there are thinly sliced sweet carrots and raisins on top (this concept at first puzzled me as I wasn't used to a sweeter rice dish but it's really good). Ate here on a whim after browsing Yelp, and was not disappointed. Food was made extremely fresh, I saw them making everything as I ordered. As such, I had to wait about 15 minutes for my food but that was no big deal. Inside has a decent amount of seating and is very clean. There are no drink machines or water, so you have to buy bottles or cans individually or bring your own drink. I ordered a combo chicken and ground beef kabob, with a side of chickpeas which cost about $18. Both the meats were delicious and had a great flavor. The also seemed to grill onions along with the meats that they piled on top which were also good. The rice was delicious - they top it with shredded carrots and dates that add a really nice tone of sweetness. The chickpeas were a hearty side that was cooked perfectly to almost melt in your mouth. Naan was slightly hard and crumbly, but tasted great. I was not a big fan of either sauces: the green or the white. The green sauce was very runny and only had a bit of a spicy tinge. The white sauce didn't taste like much at all. Luckily, the meat is so flavorful that you don't need the sauces and I mostly used them as dips for my naan. Fairfax kabob is a little hidden, seeing as its on the outskirts of Old Town Fairfax, but it's definitely worth searching out. Delicious food made fresh with reasonable prices. read more

Our first time here, really liked it. We loved the tender, spicy shami kabobs and that the rice was not just plain basmati but pilaf (Palau) with light seasoning and raisins. While the rice was tasty, the bread was cold and there was only about three tablespoons of chickpeas. Don't be fooled by the store's photos of dining-in platters -- the tiny take-out boxes are about half the size. The menu prices posted online and for delivery service are several dollars less than the in-store price for the same item.
