Ate here on a whim after browsing Yelp, and was not disappointed. Food was made extremely fresh, I saw them making everything as I ordered. As such, I had to wait about 15 minutes for my food but that was no big deal. Inside has a decent amount of seating and is very clean. There are no drink machines or water, so you have to buy bottles or cans individually or bring your own drink. I ordered a combo chicken and ground beef kabob, with a side of chickpeas which cost about $18. Both the meats were delicious and had a great flavor. The also seemed to grill onions along with the meats that they piled on top which were also good. The rice was delicious - they top it with shredded carrots and dates that add a really nice tone of sweetness. The chickpeas were a hearty side that was cooked perfectly to almost melt in your mouth. Naan was slightly hard and crumbly, but tasted great. I was not a big fan of either sauces: the green or the white. The green sauce was very runny and only had a bit of a spicy tinge. The white sauce didn't taste like much at all. Luckily, the meat is so flavorful that you don't need the sauces and I mostly used them as dips for my naan. Fairfax kabob is a little hidden, seeing as its on the outskirts of Old Town Fairfax, but it's definitely worth searching out. Delicious food made fresh with reasonable prices. read more

Went here for lunch because it was recommended by a co-worker. Was not disappointed! Food was delish. Place was immaculate. People were friendly and helpful. Coworker said, "Get extra white sauce, it's delicious you will want to drink it on its own!" Well not sure of drinking it by itself but it was delicious! The hot sauce will make your nose run. The take-out portions are so small -- only five pieces of chicken kabob, each slightly larger than an olive. While the rice was tasty, the bread was cold and there was only about three tablespoons of chickpeas. Don't be fooled by the store's photos of dining-in platters -- the tiny take-out boxes are about half the size. The menu prices posted online and for delivery service are several dollars less than the in-store price for the same item. Moreover, the store prices are higher than local competitors whose food, portions, and service are much better. Other recent reviewers offer the same criticisms (see Josue, "I left feeling like I'd been overcharged for a snack. Food: definitely a go-to when it comes to kabob take out. They have mango lassi which is always extra points for me. I love their lamb and ground beef combo but their chicken kabob is also great. The quality of meats is consistent, juicy, and well seasoned, making it a great place to be a regular at. The rice has a slight sweetness (maybe a raisin was added while cooking?), which I find compliments the kabobs nicely. Service: order at register and pick up the tray when it's ready. The kabob pieces were moist with no shortage of spices (cumin, allspice, nutmeg), and the chickpeas had great flavor and tenderness as well. However, the true standout was the rice. Slightly sweet with caramelized carrots and raisins, it was the perfect compliment/chickpea vehicle one could ask for. Perhaps the only two complaints our family had was the low volume of salad (the tray was approximately two inches deep), and the jalapeños made the kabob pieces borderline-uncomfortably spicy on the pieces they rested. Service - 7.5/10 While the staff was friendly and made it easy to order enough food for the 25 people we were hosting, they told us they would charge one price post-tax, and when we showed up, they said that it was the pre-tax price. We came in for the first time for dinner due to this place's proximity to the university. The place is clean, and was not very busy when we arrived. We ordered 3 dishes for a party of 4. The dishes each came with a small side dish. For the price paid we feel that the quantity of the meat and rice was very less in each dish, although the large piece of bread made up for it I guess.
