The hushpuppy shrimps were pretty good, but smaller than I thought it would be. I liked the flavor, though! So happy the cajun rice is back again, but it was a tad too salty this time. Sometimes you must indulge. The blackened chicken sandwich is delicious. This is easily their best meal. It's even better with the mashed potatoes. The chicken breasts served spicy are a treat as well. If you've got a hankering for fried chicken, you'll want to stop here. Am not enamored with their nuggets. They are a small size for the price. As for the staff, polite and efficient folks here. I like the cleanliness. The tables are basic fast food fare style. For those that don't know, this is a fried chicken restaurant. Similar to KFC. I'm actually a fan of Popeyes and prefer them over KFC or Jolibee so the score isn't indicative of the food, but the employees. This is a quick recap of what happened: Ordered their 12-piece regular spice bucket meal for take-out. Got home, took 1 chicken out and found out they made it all spicy instead of the regular, like we ordered. Drove back, explained the situation. They took the box and was proceeding to throw it in the trash can. Told them I can at least pay a discount for it if it's allowed. The employee looked at her manager, smiled at me and then just dumped it in the trash. What The Heck They did correct my order but c'mon Popeyes. Is this how employees are instructed to treat mistaken orders? By wasting food and just throwing it all out? Not cool guys. read more

I got the four-piece signature combo (Cajun fries, lemonade, and a biscuit, $15.49), cinnamon apple pie ($2.39), and large mashed potatoes with Cajun gravy ($7.19). The delivery fee was $1.99, the service fee was $3.01, the sales tax was $1.50, and the driver's tip was $6.31. The Cajun gravy on the mashed potatoes was really good. I finally tried their spicy chicken sandwich, it was ok, not great or worth waiting in line for hours!! I will start off by saying I am a huge fan of Popeye's chicken, especially the spicy kind! Now lets talk chicken... they have spicy and mild and it is always fresh and not dried out. The biscuits are brushed with butter and are amazing with honey! Popeye's has a big selection of sides; my favorites are the dirty rice and cole slaw. Their red beans and rice are good but not my go to. I also love the pies because they are fried like the good old days! They serve Cane's sweet tea which is a treat around here. Don't forget to get one of their heavenly chicken sandwiches!!! One food tip: their chicken is not great the next day so don't buy too much! I highly recommend downloading the app because there are some great deals. Ordering off of the menu board can be costly but you can save a lot by using the app. You can also order on the app but I don't because it never comes out right. This location is conveniently located and easily accessible. Given that there was space, I wish they had a drive through. This restaurant was built from the ground up as a stand alone and it seems that not adding a drive through was a real missed opportunity. The space is bigger than the next closest location which means way less chaos during rush hours. Service is fast and friendly. I am definitely a fan! read more

My husband thinks this is the best Popeyes around. We only went once during opening weekend and it was crazy busy but the line did move. Food came out very hot and tasty, good size. At the time the line management wasn't great (could use some of the rope stands to wrap around) and it was hard for a wheelchair to get around. He's gone since then and said it moves faster. We used to go to the one in Fairfax (not great), Springfield (very good) and Chantilly (very good), so yes we eat a lot of Popeyes. The parking lot for the Twinbrooke Center leaves something to be desired but that's not their fault. read more

The only reason this location is getting 3 stars is because their food is delicious. This particular location has a bad attitude. Every time I go there, I'm never greeted with a smile or an approachable tone. It's off putting and really frustrating. I worked in customer service for a LONG time and left my drama at home to make sure I was pleasant for my customers. Came here twice this week. Both times different workers were reluctant to give me sauce with my meal (even though both times an entree was ordered). Today, I said I would pay extra to have more than one sauce. The worker said that they are "limited" in sauces and that she could only give me one. You would think that with a $12 meal, they could at least let me pay extra to have enough sauce for the meal. Under a year ago, at this location, I wouldn't even ask for more than one sauce and was given 2-3 sauces per meal. I have never been to any kind of fast food restaurant where the workers refused to give me extra sauce, let alone refuse to let me pay extra for additional sauce... Haven't been to Popeyes since I was a kid but my husband decided to pick some up for us for dinner tonight. First they took forever. Then they threw the bag at him without the full order in it or sauces. They parked him to wait for onion rings. And did not give him sauces so he went back in to ask for 6 sauces (he ordered 3 meals for our family) and the woman asked him what order was his (to see how much he ordered) then chastised him for asking for "so many" sauces and claimed she should charge him. So he said he would happily pay for sauces and then she said no "I just should because it's so many sauces." The food was cold, flavorless, soggy. What a ripoff. We won't be back. read more

So disappointed in this location. I have been going to Popeyes around town for years and have NEVER had an issue gettig their delicious onion rings before. How do you run out of this item??? No they did not run out of the makings just the desire to. When requested at other locations they say there will be a wait and usually i am willing. However at the Twinbrook shopping center this was not tge case unless i wanted to wait over 2 hours. Yes i ordered food around 1:45pm and said they ran out and no more until 4:00pm. That is poor planning on the management team. I guess i need to call ahead to make sure they have tgem available if i ever go back to this location. Plus they were not all that busy either.
