Not sure why this location only has 3.5 stars. I guess people only feel the need to leave a review when they have a bad experience, so here's one from someone who keeps coming back. The drive-thru line can literally be backed up to the gas station, but somehow you're still out in like 5 minutes. The place is always clean, the staff is super nice, and Director Eric is literally always there. Every time I stop by, he's on his laptop making sure everything runs smoothly and checking that customers are taken care of. I forgot to ask for cheese on my sandwich. On my way to the register, Eric noticed me walking up the the register with the sandwich on my hand and got me a new sandwich with cheese for free, and even let me keep the original one. Was craving a chicken sandwich so I treated myself to chic filet in Annandale. The restaurant is clean and has a great ambiance. Jimmy, who was at the register was kind and helpful. He radiated positive energy. My order was ready right away. The food was amazing. Rosa, who was cleaning the tables offered me another beverage and removed my tray when I was done eating. Opted for drive-thru because it's raining. Order was placed easily via attendant and retrieval was a breeze. Drive-thru was quick today. Seems a lot of patrons are opting to dine in. Picked up my new fav, Spicy Jalapeno Ranch Club: a spicy filet on a buttermilk ranch bun, topped with Pepper Jack cheese, candied bacon, and pickled jalapeños. I always love Chick-fil-A, food is good, and service is consistently great. I grabbed a kale salad and grilled nuggets. Delicious. This location had tons of outdoor seating clearly separated from the road and well shaded. I usually hate eating outdoors but today it was shady and not packed at all. I didn't have to worry about the sun in my eyes. The manager came out to check on me twice during my meal and offered me free water. Some places like BK charge you full price for water. If you don't want the beverage, you save about .85 cents or $1 if you order a-la-carte. Polite and friendly service. I think this may be a new location? There are a lot of new businesses popping up in Annandale/K-Town. So, I'm not sure if it was already there or whethet I just noticed it because I was hungry, lol. The inside dining area is spacious, open and modern. They even have two high-top, long dining tables. I tried to get pics, but patrons were dining. Not sure what happened but somewhere in the abyss of the internet my order was cancelled. She jumped into action and got my order out to me in record time. Welcome to Annandale, Chick-fil-A! Stopped here several times for some breakfast, ordering Chick-n-Minis, hashbrowns, and lemonade - everything was served piping hot, fresh, and tasty! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and there were booths, tables, and communal seating available. Getting into and exiting can be a little tricky, with the oncoming traffic on Little River Turnpike and John Marr; if you're going east, you'll have to do use short turn-in lane or cut through the gas station. Check your order before you leave. Also don't order from Door Dash. Not only did we not get 2 large fries (instead we got a large and a medium) they delivered to the wrong house. Both numbers sent to my phone had no way of contacting the driver. I then had to get my winter clothes on and go to my neighbor's house to collect my food. I wish I could take my tip back. While there are still some issues to work out, this location is coming around with speed and coordination. What is my secret to avoid wrong orders? I use the Chick-fil-A app to place the order. Thanks to the lockdowns for getting me on board with doing that almost everywhere. It is much easier to customize the way that you want and the order that shows up on their side is almost always what you specified...except for that one time that the app screwed up. The one time they made a mistake, providing me with the wrong chicken sandwich with none of my customization or add-ons, I reported it through the app and was given a free sandwich as compensation. The location is not ideal, and kudos to the architect for figuring out some way to make use of the space - but, it doesn't always work out in real life like it does on paper. Hoping they can streamline things soon so that everyone, no matter how they order will get what they want as quickly as they have come to expect from other locations. read more

Update on my first review which I had stellar things to say. I came here on a weekday to get an ice dream cone (ice cream) It was slightly busy but not busy enough that it should have taken more than 10 minutes to get an ice cream cone. There were people who ordered behind me that got their orders first. I approached an employee who apologized immediately for that. However, while standing in the pickup area, I noticed this employee whose name starts with T constantly brushing her hair with her hands, touching her nose and mouth, and at one point biting her nails in between her passing out orders. She went to the back and got the ice cream cone and brought it to me with her hands directly on the cone. No hand washing, sanitizing or gloves on. No napkin or anything, just hand to hand trade off. I felt utterly grossed out by this. I was also trained in food service and work in a field where hand hygiene is very important. This was a major disappointment. The person who took my order whose name starts with J had just eaten and got back to his shift. Again, no signs of hand washing as he was still chewing and swallowing his last bite of food. There was a large piece of food on his wrist and thumb area. After getting the ice cream cone, I had to approach the staff to tell them to get me a new cone because I refused to eat something touched by someone who clearly did not wash her hands after touching her face and hair. They gave me a new cone which had the smallest amount of ice cream on it as if they were annoyed at me. If you work at a food service industry, it should be pretty common sense to have a sense of food handling and safety for your customers. I don't think I did the wrong thing or tried to be annoying. This was totally the fault of the employee and manager who didn't instruct their staff about hand hygiene and proper food handling. It's one of the newest locations, so this rating could go up with time. It's a good place though, and yes they still have some basic service/drive through issues to work on. That's normal and to their credit, all of the employees are extremely polite. Once again they prove, kind employees, positive atmosphere, and making customers valued is a winning formula. Definitely is busy, and I am happy that it's here. Annandale needed this. As for the food, as usual don't need any sauces it's so tasty. I love their chicken nuggets and sandwiches. Also their fries are the best, and so are their brownies and milkshakes. Yes they will lead to more treadmill time, yet sometimes it's important to have a treat. This is the second time I've been to this location. The first time we dined in and the service was meh. I ordered a milkshake and had to go back for a straw. I also had to go back to the counter to ask for the chick-fil-a sauces that should've been included on my order. Having to get up multiples times to get the missing accoutrements was a headache I didn't not appreciate. The food was good. Today I went via the drive through and ordered a kids meal. If you're looking for a deal the kids meal is a steal, 5 piece nugget, small fry, small drink, and ice cream for $6!! The drive through took around 15 minutes even though I ordered online- seems the staff is still getting their footing and may be understaffed. We were patient and chill in the car. When we got our food I made sure to ask for more sauce in case they didn't put the requested amount in the bag and they obliged with 4 extra sauce packets- happy days! I looked in the bag and instead of an ice cream there was a toy, so I quickly handed it back and asked for the ice cream that was ordered and they happily swapped it out. It's important to be patient especially with people in the service industry working outside on a 90+ degree day. We are all human and make mistakes. I'm very grateful when people show up to work and ultimately get the job done. Not the usually chick fil a standard. I was in the area for work and had a 30 min lunch break and this location was conveniently located near me. I came through the drive through and placed my order. I just got a number one with a lemonade. I asked for ketchup and Polynesian sauce. Sadly they did not put any ketchup or Polynesian sauce in my back and I didn't notice it until I got back to my work location so I wasn't able to go back to get any. One of the worst drive through experiences ever. Someone decided to drive their high clearance vehicle through and rip off a piece of the drive through roof. With that, the drive through was obviously very backed up. Not the restaurant's fault by any means, understandable. Except, halfway through our wait, they decided to open up a 2nd lane. We watched as all these new vehicles rolled through, placed their orders, and immediately drove up to the window picked up and were on their way. This is literally half a mile from my place and when the signs first went up I was so excited as I am from the South and we love our chick fil a!! Only been getting breakfast so far and honestly their chicken biscuit is trash. That's my go to breakfast item and the biscuit is so hard it's disgusting. I've waited to post a review to give this new business an opportunity to resolve any issues. Each time I've visited the place, my order has been wrong. Most recently, I ordered a sandwich with extra pickles and received a sandwich with no pickles; ordered extra salad dressing and received none; and order sauce for nuggets and received none. I tried to call to share my concerns with the manager and the number doesn't work. Details are very important and they're not doing a good job with any of the details. I was very excited that Chick-Fil-A opened in Annandale. I love their chicken sandwich but Fairfax or Springfield is too far for me. I went today to get a couple of sandwiches and fries for lunch. The drive thru was very organize, it went pretty quick. I came home (i live less than a mile from the restaurant. The fries were saggy, the chicken in the sandwich is not crispy, very very salty, not the Chick-Fil-A spices that I was longing for. Since they were very busy, they should be cooking a lot of fries right, and so it should still be fresh and crunchy. Same with the chicken. I am very very disappointed. Coffee is very expensive. Down street MCDonald charges medium size coffee for $1.99 and this Chick-fil-A charged me $2.43 for a small size coffee. I asked them to price match but they said this is better. What better?? Small and same coffee. Customer service is so bad. Be careful going here.. I would not recommend. read more
