I really do love myself some BB.Q CHICKEN. Their wings are consistent at any location I've been to, from NYC to different locations I've been to here in VA, all with the same great taste. Today we had the cheeseling fries. They were sweet, crunchy, and a little tangy, and the cheese powder on top was just a great combo. I will ask for maybe not so much powder next time, but still very good. The place is also a café, but we came midday Sunday and it wasn't too busy or loud at all. The employees were very nice and happy. read more

Just had this delivered and it was amazing. It was definitely fried fresh and all the chicken still had a nice crisp. We've had bb.q from many different locations and this is definitely a great one. read more

We've tried most of the Korean fried chicken spots in Annandale, and recently gave bb.q Chicken a try. We ordered 24 boneless soy garlic and 8 galbi -- soy garlic is always our go-to, while the galbi was our "try something new" pick. As expected, the soy garlic did not disappoint. It's consistently flavorful and exactly what we look for in Korean fried chicken. The galbi, while tasty on its own, felt a bit lackluster in comparison and didn't quite live up to the soy garlic for us. To round everything out, we added the kimchi fried rice with a fried egg, which turned out to be the perfect addition and balanced the meal nicely. Overall, a solid experience, and I'll definitely be coming back -- especially for that soy garlic. read more

BBQ Chicken is my go-to spot for Korean fried chicken in this area--it's consistently excellent! I love that they have options for everyone. As someone who doesn't have a high spice tolerance, I am thrilled they offer the Rose Tteokbokki. It's easily my favorite version of the dish; it's creamy, savory, and perfectly comforting without setting my mouth on fire. Regarding the wings, you can't go wrong! My personal favorites are the Honey Garlic and the Cheesling, but honestly, the other flavors shouldn't be slept on either. Everything comes out hot and perfectly crispy. Specifically for this location, I appreciate the setup. There is plenty of seating, and I really liked the self-serve cadence for ordering and pickup, which makes the whole process quick and efficient. If you are looking for top-tier Korean fried chicken and great non-spicy options, this is the place to be! read more

I came here awhile ago but it was ok but the chicken definitely got so much better than before, so crispy and juicy. Kimchi fried rice is pretty good too! read more

Fantastic chicken. There's adequate free parking, with you having the option to order via kiosk. Place is clean with plenty of seating and friendly, helpful staff. The chicken is very moist and juicy, with great flavors and a wonderful outside. There are a number of choices to choose from. While it may seem pricey for 8 pieces, the pieces are large and 8 pieces will fill you up. I tried the gangjeong (probably my favorite), cheesling, spicy galbi, and Gangnam style. All were delicious. I also tried the cheeseling fries, and was not disappointed. read more

Delicious wings. But they did not have my favorite flavor (Caribbean spice) which is listed on the paper menu and website. Same goes with Falls Church restaurant. But every thing else was delicious and folks are very friendly. Ambiance was casual. This particular location is very popular. read more

I have been here before and my family were craving for korean chicken, and it did not disappoint. I used to go to other Korean spots whenever I was craving Korean wings, but I can't say enough about how delicious the chicken here is. It's perfectly crispy, crunchy, and full of flavor--you'll definitely want more. The service was excellent, with friendly staff, and the restaurant was very clean. I highly recommend giving this place a try and seeing what you think. read more

I had ordered from a different location to go another time, and was disappointed, so I had low expectations. But I thought it tasted pretty good this time. I dined in, and ordered 3 flavors of the wings - the special sauce, soy garlic, and honey garlic. I would say the special sauce was my favorite, followed by soy garlic. The wings were super crispy on the outside, while being very juicy on the inside. They were fresh when we got them, and they came out pretty quickly. We also got the rose ddeok-bokki, which was good. Overall, I have no complaints, and I think I would come back again. read more

I've tried half fried and half special sauce chicken carry-out. The chicken was very crispy and seemed like it was using very clean oil. BBQ chicken also had a cafe running in the restaurant and it was good to have friends and family together. I thought that was unique. Pickled radish was very good, too. To-go packaging was done very well. read more

Yum! Big double fried wings with a variety of flavors.. I've tried a few different bbq Korean spots and this is my favorite. I always get the honey soy and soy garlic and never disappointed! read more

Ever since I found this location, I've been multiple times. Within the first two weeks I went at least 5 times. And now basically once a week. The staff there is so friendly! The amount of times that I go, I should know her name by now, but sorry I'm not good with names. She's the cashier, and every time I see her, she has a smile on her face and so cheerful and welcoming. My go to order is the honey garlic wings while my husband likes the golden original. We have done takeout and we've also sat and ate there. When dining in, they give you disposable plates, gloves, and hand wipes! The only thing for me is the water dispenser. It was dirty when we dined in once and there was something in the water. The wings are delicious! The honey garlic is so flavorful while the original is so crispy. With Korean wings being fried twice, these wings still maintain their moisture. The chicken isn't dry at all and I can eat it all day. Even driving 30 minutes home, the wings are still hot. read more

I was so hopeful... This place is right around the corner from my new acupuncturist and I was hoping for a Bonchon-like experience. Boy, was I disappointed. The parking at 12:30 was a nightmare. The lot is poorly laid out and seems to inspire congestion. The only space I could find was one I "made up" at the end of one long row. The inside of the restaurant is dingy but neat. The menu is confusing. Firstly, in addition to their take on BBQ chicken, they also serve bagels with cream cheese and late. After having had their chicken, I realized why they felt the need to branch out. Now, about the chicken... The "bird" comes in three forms, and actual chicken (or half of one), wings, or boneless pieces. Then you get to pick from among a a dozen sauces. The problem for me was that the smallest wing/pieces order is 8 and it all has to be one kind of sauce. I picked boneless and their "Secret Sauce" The result was, in a word, gross. The chicken pieces were separate from the soggy coating, and that was separate from the cloyingly sweet sauce. As it was, I could only choke down three pieces. I'm going to try putting some of the remaining pieces into the over and try to get things a bit crispier. However, I can't see them coming out good enough to make me ever want to go back to this place. read more

This was a wonderful surprise. Crispy chicken wings with more than 8 different flavors. There is also a cafe where you can get iced teas, milk teas and lattes. The service is quick and the staff are helpful. The inside decor is basic and serviceable but the chicken is "chef's kiss"! The spicy wings we had were not too spicy and it was a level 4 on their scale. If you can handle spicy don't be a grains to go all the way. read more

I don't think this place is worth the money. You pay $1.50 per wing, which I suppose is standard, but given how easy wings are to make at home, I wouldn't do this again. I left feeling very bloated and heavy. To me there's way too much breading on the wings, and I thought the fries were awful (although they were well seasoned). The person I was with also hated having to order via a screen, and order drinks separately at a counter. It looks like they've done everything they can to remove as many human jobs as possible, but still not lowered the price. Not our kind of dining. read more

Real chicken, made fresh. It's crispy (even after a drive home to Burke!) and full of flavor. I've tasted four flavors of chicken and the rosé tteokbokki and each one was excellent. The consistency has been perfection. It's the only place I will get takeout chicken--ever. (And, no, I've no skin in the game.) read more

The wings here are amazing. I'm guessing they use a starch based breading as it is shatteringly crispy without being heavy like flour based breading. I have tried every flavor, including the super hots, and they are all delicious. My favorite is the honey garlic, by far. Savory/unami, a touch of sweet. 맛있는! I am probably putting their kids through college with how many wings I order . Out of the many times I have ordered from them, there was one order where they weren't crispy, and were a bit soggy. I let them know the next time I ordered just so it would help them go back and figure why consistency faltered, and the next order I made, they gave me a free 24 piece box, and sent a note. Chi mc? No thank. Choong man chicken? Give them the stiff arm. Bloom chicken? Bums! Bonchon? Cultural appropriation, and low quality. The only Korean fried chicken you should order is bb.q, and this location does it best! read more

Good chicken! Classic Korean chicken with various sauce choices! Both the sauced and the plain fried were good

Finally tried bb.q chicken after I heard it's the best Korean fried chicken around. It's good, and I like how they claim they cook it in olive oil at low heat. The sauces were good. I don't know if it blew me away but it's a solid choice for KFC. read more

bb,q Chicken is a well-known, authentic Korean Chicken brand, right here in Annadale, VA. I am still working my way through all of their flavors, but I think I have found the taste I was looking for (yay, me!). bb,q Chicken "Secret Sauce" is a perfect (IMHO) of magnificent heat and subtle sweetness. I never knew I could sweat behind my earlobes - this sauce has a kick! But don't run away; that fiery goodness dissipates quickly - there is no afterburn effect that wipes out your taste buds or makes you feel like your lips are going to fall off. So, by the time you've finished your sip of the beverage of your choice (make mine a Molson Canadian, please), you are ready to ride that taste roller coaster all over again! During my visit to grab a take-home order on 6/4, I was fortunate to meet the passionate about what he does owner and manager Steve Lee. He went into great detail about how each piece of chicken was individually prepared by a trained staff to give us a super fresh, made-to-order, if you wouldn't eat, don't serve it chicken experience. His passion for a high-quality product is clearly evident from its enticingly spicy aroma, glistening visual appeal, moist and tender texture, and A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! taste! Many spices they use are sourced from South Korea, so you know you're getting the real deal. I will be back to taste the other available flavors, but I know that my order will always include the boneless chicken with Secret Sauce. Check bb.q Chicken out at 7131 Little River Turnpike if you have been thinking about Korean chicken or know what you're after. The staff are very friendly and give great descriptions of how the flavor selections differ and what you can expect. The boneless offering Is big chunks of chicken, which is perfect for those who don't want a bone getting in the way of the succulent meat. It always makes a great slider-type sandwich. While I waited for my order, I enjoyed a seat in the cafe area with a Sprite. Steve is also proud of their coffee. I guess if I liked coffee, I'd try it, but I will rely on others to tell me they think read more

THE BEST HALAL WINGS!!! I got soy garlic and spicy original flavors and both were delicious and fresh. I didn't need any ranch because the wings were packed with flavor. I'm so glad this chicken place opened! There is a bbq chicken in falls church, and before this place opened that was the closest one to me, which is like 20/25 min away with traffic so I would go to the other chicken places around Annandale. BUT NOW! bbq chicken is all I will go to :) their crispy skin is flavorful and gives you that juicy spicy flavor that I'm looking for in every wing. For my first order here, got the half and half whole chicken (original and hot spicy). Also got spicy original wings. In my opinion, the spicy options here are the best. The spicy original is soooo good. I wish they had boneless spicy original. The hot spicy is also perfect as a sauce. This chicken is perfect with rice. I would say since they still opened, the service is kindaa slow so just be patient! :) the parking lot is shared with a kbbq and hotpot place and a cafe AND the parking lot is kinda tight. I would recommend parking in an adjacent lot and walking over or if u want an easy time to find a spot get there early dinner instead of peak time lol. The lot can get crazy..I had to just park in front of the store with my emergency lights on because I couldn't find a spot and there were other cars trying to find parking too. read more

A friend wanted to get some Korean chicken so we decided to give bb.q a try. We went in a little early for dinner so the place wasn't very full which was nice (especially as the parking lot can be a nightmare when the restaurants get busy). I asked the manager some questions about ingredients since I have an allergy and he had ready answers for what was on the chicken. We ordered three different flavors of chicken(spicy, honey garlic, and ganjeong) and one order of spicy rice cakes (ddeok bokki). The chicken was really crispy and flavorful while the rice cakes were soft and spicy (not very spicy which I liked). The restaurant had some music playing in the background but wasn't too loud so that you can easily have a conversation. By the time we finished eating, the place had filled up with a good mix of customers. Overall, I'd definitely come back again to get chicken the next time I have a craving. read more

Former Cafe V location has converted to a Korean fried chicken franchise and dropped their old menu (other than for beverages, it seems). The food is tasty and served reasonably quickly during our recent visits, but the ordering and payment process is a confusing mix of a wall-mounted touch screen and traditional cash register. There are already many other Korean fried chicken joints within a short distance (as well as multiple new "Nashville hot chicken-style" franchises), so competition will be fierce. On the plus side, their portions are smaller and they use less batter on their chicken (in favor of a better blend of seasonings) than all the other fried chicken competitors, so it's a less overwhelming and more enjoyable and affordable meal. The ambiance is clean and well-lit with a mix of table sizes. It's not a place for an intimate date night, but a good choice for an outing with friends. read more
