My wife and I tried this today and it was an overall good experience food is good, and the place is clean. And I would come back here.

I don't know who this place thinks it is, but charging $20 for what showed up in that takeout box is borderline offensive. I ordered shrimp and chicken hibachi with fried rice and vegetables--pretty standard, nothing complicated. What I got instead was a sad, confused plate that looked like it gave up halfway through being cooked. The chicken looked like it had been pulled off a grocery store rotisserie, chopped up, flashed over heat for all of 30 seconds, and drowned in sauce to hide the shortcuts. The shrimp weren't much better--just there, no real seasoning, no real effort. And let's be clear--this wasn't a situation where the kitchen was slammed or overwhelmed. The restaurant was completely empty except for me. No crowd. No rush. No pressure. They had every opportunity to take their time and put together a decent meal. Which makes it worse, because this clearly isn't a bad night--it's just the level they operate on. The "fried rice" was the real insult. Calling it fried rice is generous. It was plain white rice with what looked like a light mist of soy sauce. No vegetables. No eggs. Not even onions. Just beige disappointment. And it tasted exactly how it looked--bland, flat, and completely forgettable. And somehow they also threw in noodles I didn't ask for--dry, lifeless noodles that looked like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp since lunch, and just as bland as everything else in the box. This is not hibachi. This is mall food court quality at best--and even that's being kind. An $11 plate? Sure. $20? Absolutely not. Then the fried chicken wings. I ordered soy garlic, expecting something even remotely comparable to places like Bonchon, where the sauce is rich, glossy, slightly sticky, and actually clings to the wings. What I got instead was a watery, reddish sauce that slid right off. It had the consistency of hot sauce, not a soy garlic glaze. No depth, no balance--and yes, just as bland and underwhelming as the hibachi. All in, I spent over $30, and not a single item justified the price. For that same money, I could have gone to Benihana or literally any decent hibachi spot and had a meal that actually resembled what I ordered. This place being a sit-down restaurant makes it even worse. If you're going to charge sit-down prices, the food needs to reflect that. Right now, it doesn't come close. Save your money. Skip this place entirely. I'm so sad I drove 20 mins to and from this place. I just wanted some good hibachi. read more

Came at 9 pm on a friday night, and was quickly accommodated by the staff. Very easy to sit in, lots of tables so you definitely will get seated quickly. Parking is in the back btw. Definitely recommend the rose tteokbokki. I'm still dreaming of that dish. Licked the plate clean - has bacon, sausages, rice cakes, cheese and it's just so creamy and delish. Rolling through Vienna, we had a hankering for Korean Fried Chicken and happened upon Oh My Dak. An interesting name, to say the least, but if it's good food, who cares what the name is? And Oh My Dak delivered. We got a half of a Sweet & Mild chicken, along with an order of teok bokki (rice cakes in spicy sauce). The chicken was exceptionally crispy, and the sauce was sweet and tangy. Plenty of meat on the bones, but not greasy at all. The teok bokki was not too spicy, and there was plenty to go around with a hard-boiled egg thrown in for good measure. The fried chicken here was just okay. For a Korean fried chicken place, we expected well-fried juicy chicken controlled batter amounts but this place was pretty caked in batter. The sauces were ok but mostly quite sweet. Worst part of all was the lack of AC. It was 97 degrees out and apparently there was no way the AC could be turned on higher. Might be one of the reasons the restaurant only had two tables on a Friday night. No one wants to suffer in the oily hot/humid air to eat fried chicken. Oh My Dak! The sister store of Cheogajip is in Vienna, and it's here to stay! Sometimes I just like a no-frills Korean fried chicken, and this place also has happy hour deals. It's convenient and close to a lot of my favorite spots like Qamaria, MOD Pizza, and TeaDM. Oh My Dak has a fairly small menu, which is super easy for those who are indecisive to select from their menu. I usually just like their soy garlic chicken and their fried wings. The wings can come with sides of the soy garlic sauce, but I actually just like it in their salt and pepper seasoning that they provide on the side. Super simple, and super affordable. They're open fairly late too, which is a win in my book! read more

When you come to eat at Oh My Dak - prepare to get messy.  Now we know why they make the offer of disposable gloves to diners.  The food was good, but, sometimes, the very generous amount of sauce overpowers the food itself.  And, sometimes, messy can be a little unappetizing.  Despite this issue and the four hundred napkins later, we did enjoy the items we ordered, especially the So Tteok sausages and rice cakes.   These were not as overly sauced and were tasty and satisfying.  We enjoyed the fried chicken as well but, would have liked it much better had it been glazed and not saturated.  Having a real lot of sauce also caused the crispy chicken to get a little mushy on the bottom where it was sitting in the puddle.  The pickled radish that comes with was crunchy and tangy and they generously offered more when we said how much we liked it.  The service in general was very good and very friendly.  The dining area was also very clean and there were enough tables.  Parking in back is easy. read more

We thought the price was reasonable for the amount of chicken/size of the chicken wings. The portions were huge and each portion was probably good for two people. Each of the chicken dishes came with a side of sweet radish which was excellent..I say that even though radish is not my fav thing. The fired potstickers were amazing and very fresh and crispy. The service was spot on! The server was kind and attentive and gave great suggestions. The ambiance was nice (see pic) with a bit of Korean music playing in the background. I'm glad that a place serving authentic Korean style fried chicken dishes has opened in the neighborhood. I've tried one dish from the menu so far, but I plan to try the rest as well. There's a parking lot behind the building, but it's often crowded, so parking spaces can be a bit limited. It doesn't seem very busy yet, probably because it's a relatively new establishment. Upon entering, the interior felt pleasuring and was greeted with soothing popular Korean songs. The staff were friendly and always ensured the customer was satisfied. The manager also directly communicated with the customers, sharing multiple connections and made sure they felt comfortable. We ordered the Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cake dish), Dakbal (Spicy Chicken Feet), fried and supreme sauce simmered chicken. The food arrived hot and ready to dine, with the display correspondingly the same as the photos they provided. Each bite of the food was filled with a unique texture and flavor unlike any other chicken place. Really great fried chicken. I really can't recommend this place enough! I came with my family and ordered two whole chickens. A soy garlic and a supreme. Both were great. Fresh, crunchy and so flavorful! They were saucier than the average Korean fried chicken but that just means you have sauce to dip fries into! The fries and onion rings were amazing too! Oh My Dak is absolutely amazing for Korean fried chicken lovers. I recommend trying the tteok bokki, it is the only place around where they sell my favorite Korean food dish.
