Love their spicy pollack soup. Had their bibimbap and mackerel/soy bean paste soup combo and all were delicious. Great thing, it's in a food court so no rush in eating and can enjoy the food. Service is awesome. Cook and front counter ladies came to ask how our food was. Since I was with elderlies, they even gave us watermelon for dessert. Such great customer service. It's a clean counter.
We've been here two times now. The first time was excellent. But yesterday it was barely okay and the counter service was gruff and abrupt. SB Hans is located in the K International Market Food Court. You place your order at the counter and they give you a beeper to inform you when your order is ready. There's quite an array of dishes. We went with the Beef Bulgogi Combo and the Spicy Squid with rice. These dishes were high-end bento boxes. Other than the meats, these items are identical. Each dish contains, in addition to either the squid or the beef, dangmyeon (Korean glass noodles), rice, various banchan and an onion and beef soup. On our first visit, the delicious , slightly sweet beef bulgogi was the best I've ever eaten. On the second visit they dumped the bulgogi on to a lettuce leaf and mixed the bulgogi with strips of red bell pepper. And it no longer had the great flavor. I was noncommittal on my first bite of the dangmyeon, but with each subsequent bite, it rapidly grew me. Loved the thin little slices of scrambled egg that topped the noodles. I also really liked the slice of scrambled egg that had a bit of seaweed-wrapped fish (pollack or squid?) in its center. They didn't include this item on our second visit. The little scallion pancake was just okay. The onion soup (with had a couple tiny bits of beef) was okay. I poured some of it on my rice to add flavor. Speaking of the black sesame seed topped rice, it had an excellent moist texture, easy to eat with chopsticks. Actually, on our second visit they didn't adorn the rice with sesame seeds and it was a purple, not white rice. They didn't give us any banchan this time around. So based on our second visit, we won't come back. I ordered #3 it was supposed to be beef broth with noodles and dumplings. It tasted exactly what it looked like noodles and water. It was hard paying $17 for this and letting it go.
Man, SB Hans - you were our favorite in the K Market food court when we were craving for some good Korean food, but the past few dining experiences has been pretty disappointing. Their mul nengmyun, which was probably one of the best around the area, has drastically gone down in terms of quality and taste - the broth is not flavorful, the noodles are not prepared well, and the hot mustard sauce that is provided is watered down and has an off taste to it. Even one of the owners mentioned that the patrons who had ordered this dish did not finish it and was concerned in how the kitchen preps for it - but, there hasn't been any improvement whatsoever, so not sure what's the hold-up. The galbi jjim is good, but sometimes it can be a bit too sweet or too much cartilage; same goes for the dol sot bibimbop, where the prices are the same whether you get galbi or bulgogi as your protein choice. It's more cartilage and fat rather than the tender galbi meat, and sometimes, there seems to hardly be any meat in there. The prices are definitely on the higher end, as most meals seem to have skyrocketed in terms of pricing lately. Tucked away in the food court of K-Mart, this place caught our eye. The deal was insane. 16.99 for a large plate of food off a buffet. We loaded up on some short rib, bulgogi, chicken wings, and japchae. Super delicious and super affordable. The selection was limited and there are plenty of other foods to choose from over this, but for what it's, this was incredible.
For $16.99, you can load up your plate buffet style with as MUCH food as you want and as you can see from our plate, we went OFF. There was a pretty wide selection, and everything was delicious! I would absolutely come back here since it was an incredible deal and definitely enough to feed 2 people.
4 of us went. Ordered and confirmed. She didnt give me the receipt till after the food came out wrong and she told us she gave it to us. But oppss she left it in the back or side. We ordered 2 spicy beef. 1 cream jjampong and one shrimp fried rice. The reg jjampong was the wrong order. She wouldnt admit she was wrong or offer to fix the order till we started getting frustrated and just said forget it we will just eat it. (Tall lady with short hair). It didn't have much flavor. After few bites it was just thrown away. None of us 4 finished any of the food. No one wanted to take it home but me. She gave me a hard time about a to go container and bag also. Smh. Wanted to like it....
If you are craving for Korean comfort food this is the place to go! It's located in the food court of the Korean supermarket. All entrees are within $10-20. They provide soup and appetizers. Love their beef bibimbap, so fresh and delicious from the pot! Wait time was within 10 mins, the food court is spacious. Will recommend!
Solid food court Korean food. $20 for an LA Galbi box with a lot of little side dishes, a great value! I would certainly come back. It's not meat heavy but makes up for it in side dishes.
Great Korean place in food court inside the K Market. Got lucky and it wasnt crowded. The big bone soup is as advertised, that is a BIG bone. Soup was tasty and there was vermicelli underneath (not rice as it stares on menu). The creamy seafood noodle was also very tasty. The soup wasnt as "creamy" as i expected but still good. You get mussels, octopus, and shrimp. The price was right for a food court. Will definitely return to try more things.
I tried this place thinking that it would add to the solid food options at Kmarket. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a let down compared to the other food options. To have naengmyun featured in a food court, I do think that you have to be a standard deviation better than the packaged ready to cook meals sold at the grocery store. This was lackluster as nothing was particularly chewy about the noodles and the sauce was average. The presentation was fine but I don't think I'd be back.
I came here after shopping for groceries and was pleasantly surprised. The service is swift. Even though it's not necessary, I appreciate the picture of the items listed on their menu as sometimes, even though I love Korean food, there are subtle differences in certain dishes and I forget those, so this was a great accessory for those that aren't super familiar with Korean food. I did the spicy pork combo that offered japchae noodles, rice, lettuce, egg, kimchi pancake, and another veggie pancake. My friend got the bulgogi combo. You also get banchan and miso soup. It's very filling. It's a typical food court setting. The food is savory and for the price, it's super worth it.
Food was delicious , a price was affordable and staff was really nice. Recommended SB Hans Korean Food!!!

Galbi was really tender. Cooked well. Nice girl char and meaty flavor. They have a lot of combo options. Nangmyun was great broth. The noodles were very tangy. The radish and tomatoes were so fresh. Banchan was so good. The kimchi and moo and radish were all delicious. Mall food court type seating. Take your food to go or eat here. read more

We just came back from France and tbh missing good food and we came to KMarket for lunch. Honestly, this is a unique and delicious dish because of the pepperiness and seemingly smoky flavor. I loved it and would definitely come back again for this. The lady who was operating the stall was super nice and helped me very quickly with my order. read more

SB Hans -- Not your typical food court quality. Where have you been, Ms. Han? My friend came across Yelp reviews and the photos looked so promising that we had to give them a try. What a wonderful finding! My friend had a pork backbone stew(Gamjatang). According to him, it tastes just like Korea. The best one he's ever had in the US. Truly authentic. I had stir-fried pork and I'd say the same as my friend. It brought me back to memories of hometown. They don't seem to use MSG. Huge portion. Lot of Unami. Not too spicy not too salty. Done right. One thing to note: The service is very slow as other Yelp reviewers mentioned. It's worth waiting. read more

Back in the food court of the K-mart in Annandale is a collection of Korean food stands that deserve a look. SB Hans is relatively new and they serve up a standard Korean menu of various soups, stews, and meats. Although they have decent standards like ddoekbokki (spicy rice cakes) with cheese, Tonkatsu and jjamppong (spice seafood stew), my favorite was the Spicy Soft Tofu noodles. A close relative of the jjamppong, but with more noodles and a bit less seafood. It's probably best described as Soondooboo with noodles. If you frequent Korean restaurants, you know what I'm talking about. Steamy, savory and just spicy enough, I'd say you gotta give this a try - it's not available at most Korean joints. MulNengMyun Cold noodle soup with a garnish of julienned cucumbers, julienned fried egg, radish kimchi, and a hard boiled egg to top. Add a few swirls of the spicy yellow mustard and vinegar to perfection. This cold soup hit the spot on this hot summer day! read more

Was a very pleasant lunch at the K Market international food court. This was one of newer stands and have wanted to try it ever since it popped up. Had a chance to try today and was not disappointed. Got the Number 1 which was a seafood noodle with tofu and seafood. It also came with a bowl of rice (which felt unnecessary) and 3 mini banchan dishes. Everything went very well together and for $13 the portion size was gigantic. If I wasn't starving, could've easily brought half home and had it for lunch the next day. The flavor was well done, the tofu and noodle texture was soft and pleasant, and the seafood added a depth to the broth that was welcomed. Only knock against it is some of the dishes were very pricy (in the $19-$23 range). I will say after this experiment will be back to try out the more expensive dish to see if they're worth it. If they are then the 4 stars can easily become a 5. read more

Delicious food served with a good helping of friendly customer service! I ordered the mackeral and also a bowl of Clam soup noodles from another stall... which ended up lacking seasoning. They were more than happy to assist with adding a bit more salt and spices lol, while giving us a knowing look. read more

I just had the best Dol sol (stone pot) bibimpop today and HAD TO SHARE. Order Galbi Dolsot bibimbop. The crunchy rice at the bottom of the pot is absolutely delicious and they give you a generous amounts of melt in your mouth galbi bites! Im still thinking about how good it is I will absolutely be back :) read more
Pretty good addition to the food court at k-mart. Solid usual dishes and a variety of noodle dishes. Excited to see Mandy kal guk su..most places typically only offer dduk mandu guk. Our order did take some time to come out (10-15min). Also wished they would have buzzed us for my kal guk su as soon as it came out of the kitchen instead of waiting for the other dish in our order. The noodles were definitely more soggy than usual. read more

Everything was delicious. The Cold Noodles, Spicy soft Tofu Chigae, Yookgaejang, and especially my dish- Veggie Bibimbap with all the "mountain namul." The last dish is a bit different from the regular Bibimbap, but just as delicious. So cheap. Big portions. What's not to like? read more

Brand new Korean food court style restaurant inside K Market. I ordered #24 (Korean spicy pork bone stew soup AKA Gamjatang ), filled with pork bones, flavorful soup and vegetables. The meal was served with steamed rice, kimchi and pickles. It was so damn good and filling unlike the one across from them who now has some real competition. The service was awesome and it didn't take long. The nice gentleman in the front was super friendly and asked that we follow them on instagram if we enjoy their food. Looking forward to returning for more good eats! read more

This is my second time here and definitely won't be my last. This time I had the spicy braised short ribs which was super bomb! The portion size is good and I recommend putting your rice in the stone pot to eat with the sauce. So glad there's an authentic korean spot that reasonably priced! read more

I'm new to Korean food and, being new to Annandale, have a lot of places at which to learn. I'd been wanting to try Ms. Han's since I started shopping at the International Market, in whose food court SB Hans is located. I randomly ordered the "Cold Noodles", (buckwheat noodles, beef broth, beef brisket, pickled radish, cucumber, and (half a) boiled egg). It was served with a tray of banchan (3). When I ordered, I told the proprietor I wasn't familiar with Korean food and he said it would be a good dish to start. It did take a little longer than expected but, fortunately, I wasn't in a hurry. When it arrived, the proprietor showed me a clear sauce in a squeeze bottle that he said was typically used to season that particular dish to taste. It was an extremely fresh and vibrant bowl of very tasty (cold) broth. The buckwheat noodles were somewhat gelatinous, but the texture was not off-putting and actually seemed apropos to the temperature of the dish. Each individual ingredient had a separate and distinct taste from the others in the bowl. The banchan added texture and new flavor with each bite, and included a particularly tasty kimchi. Overall, it was a very pleasing dish and one I would order again. The proprietor asked if I liked it, and when I told him that I liked it very much, he suggested a spicy version on my next visit, "Spicy Cold Noodles", that has an addition of red chile sauce. I'm looking forward to it! Attached photo is from their website menu and accurately depicts what I was served. Ambiance was typical food court, over which they have no control, but don't let that dissuade you. I'll be back! read more
