Because I came around 2pm, I was wondering if I could still get lunch because the online menu says lunch only goes until 2pm. However, my server said lunch actually goes until 2:30pm. I picked the beef fried rice. It comes with banchan and miso soup. The beef fried rice was very good. What was especially good was the delicious black bean sauce that came with the rice. I thought the tasty miso soup was excellent, very rich and silky. Banchan was kimchi, Danmuji fruit and slices of white onion. My go to for chicken fried rice take-away and I always get extra black bean dipping sauce. Service is always friendly, patient and helpful. They always greet you when you enter. The dining area is well lit with a kinda open floor plan with a half wall separating the sides. I came in New Year's Eve ~3pm and other patrons were picking up take-away orders. A large group, 15 patrons, came in while I was waiting and everyone was greeted. There were several patrons already enjoying their meal. I love the rice they use and the other ingredients are always fresh. They are generous with their portions. The chicken fried rice comes with a side of fresh onions and I some kind of pickled daikon (I think), a little tart, a little sweet and a nice crisp bite. Super yummy! Authentic Noodle dishes. The portions are generous and the service was prompt and friendly. The food is Chinese Korean so not the mainstream bbq that most people associate with Korean restaurants. The jjambong was spicy, flavorful and full of seafood. The ja jang myon was just the right consistency and flavor. This was served with raw onions and radish in vinegar to eat along your ja Jang myon. These dishes are traditionally seafood and pork and there are little to no deviations of it on the menu. If you want plain noodles or rice, that's about all there will be if you're not pork or seafood friendly. Just be warned. Keep in mind, that's how it's intended to be prepared so if you're up for that, try it out! It's great! That's what this place is known for. Lots of 4 top tables and on a normal day I imagine it quite busy. Not too loud however not a place for a large group to sit around and chat. The interior of the restaurant is very homey and there is quite a lot of seating. In terms of the food, my go-to is the jjam-ja-myun. It is a half and half combo where one half is black bean noodles and the other half is spicy seafood noodle soup. The jjajangmyun is savory and rich, if you're looking to brighten it up a bit, I'd recommend shaking on some spicy korean chili flakes. The jjampong (spicy seafood soup) has a spicy kick and cleanses your palette from the richness of the black bean noodles. You can't forget to get an order of the pork tangsooyook for the table. The pork is fried to perfection and is really crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It is served with a side of sweet and sour sauce that brings it to another level. Kimchi, raw onion, and pickled daikon are served as banchan and are unlimited so you can always order more if you've eaten all of it. I only deducted one star because I have been to places where they obviously make their noodles in house. These noodles are nothing to scoff at as they were deliciously paired with flavorful ja jang sauce. In a group, I would suggest getting orders of the Ja Jang Myun and a separate order of the Tang Su Yuk to share which I believe they are known for. I forgot to try the Jap Chae Bap that my nephew got but looked very well prepared. As he said, the portions here are well out of this world.
