Ayce bbq

You can do a la carte or ayce option. For AYCE, there are set A and B. The beef options in set A are all thinly sliced, which I'm not a fan. In set B, you get thicker cut beef, LA Galbi (1 per person), and daechang (beef old intestine). However, I don't like the way they cut (split it in half vertically) daechang because it makes it a lot chewier than normal. You also might want to double check that the kitchen has all options in set B available because they ran out of LA Galbi when we were there.

It's been a while but we were meeting someone half way. Kogiya is a long time OG of BBQ. Prices sure have gone up for the dinner AYCE(option A $33) Staff were awesome! Yes, we ate super early and were the only customers in house. It felt so special. Table setup was done while we arrived. Lots of delicious appetizers and plenty of complimentary refills. Staff even suggested we may want to do Ala carte if we were not that hungry. The two staff worked as team and made sure all our food was being cooked by them. Grill was constantly changed a The food was so good. The meat was a good quality. We chose both marinated and non marinated. We opted for AYCE but also bought Ala carte Galbi. That steak was so tender.

Def a new favorite spot for KBBQ. I felt like the price was reasonable for what you get and you can choose between two options for lunch. The service was amazing - the servers always checked in on you and cooks the meat for your table. The side dishes were fresh and flavorful. Would def recommend!

This place was such a fun time for my friends and me. Like any bbq place, they had the grill around along with our sides - note reservation is most likely required. They had an option for grill on your own or have someone grill for you / we had some expert cooks do we grilled on our own. We did an all you can eat bbq special. We got the brisket, chicken and short rib. Everything was fantastic. With the all you can eat, you even get a steamed egg, rice and soup. I would definitely come back here again. Just note, reservation is recommended.

Idk what happened with them but they were peak in 2018. And has gone downhill since 2022. This place used to be pack and long waits. Now you just can walk in with no lines. The quality of meat just does not taste the same. The beef meats were lower quality for what you're paying for. I would recommend going to the other kbbq in Annandale.

We have been here twice and loved it both times! The servers are quick and helpful with preparing all the options. We loved the food (as you can see from the empty plates in the photo) but all dietary needs were able to be met in our group. My only complaint is the restaurant was particularly smokey this last time we went but I don't know how easy that is to avoid with the nature of the cuisine! But again, our favorite Korean BBQ and we can't wait to go back!

For AYCE, it's probably not worth it. There wasn't a lot of variety in the A or B options. The meat wasn't that fatty compared to other places, but you get tired of the meats fast, especially the marinated ones. For A you pay $33, and for B you pay for $38. You can only choose 3 dishes at a time for your whole party. The a la carte options seem more worth it--especially the steak and prime rib. However, I would not come back. The staff was nice and quick and attentive. They changed the grill often. They are cautious and make sure you don't turn the heat up too high.

We did the Option A all you can eat for $33 per person and had a great experience. I hadn't been here in 5+ years and my experience made me miss eating here! The meats were all great quality, our favorites being the miso pork belly and spicy bulgolgi. It comes with unlimited meats, unlimited sauce, rice and veggies. The sauces were very good and one was unique and lemony. My memory had always been that you need a reservation, and this time we went for lunch right when they opened on a Sunday and we were fine without one. It started filling up around 2pm.

The BEST all you can eat (AYCE) Korean barbecue in Northern VA. Best vale at $33 for Option A lunch (this was a weekday). My go to: 1. Brisket. Thinly sliced. No marinade. Moist. Deeeeelish!! 2. Pork Belly. Thick. No marinade. Yummmmy. 3. Egg soup (pardon for not knowing the name) Other meats - like chicken - are available already marinaded. Calling all Carnivores. Lol. Staff cooks right in front of you on the grill that's on the table. Awesome customer service. They kept the meats coming quickly. Complimentary unlimted sides: rice, veg, egg soup. Visit this small business. We'll be back.

Small beef platter - more than enough for two

Over ordered but worth it. We opted to not do AYCA to have higher quality meat and we're not disappointed. We added a corn cheese side which we finished and a bibimbop bowl - not needed, took to go. Solid rec from a KBBQ lover!

Best KBBQ spot in the area hands down!! The meat is high quality and fresh, and sooo flavorful. Our favorites from the AYCE menu were the beef brisket and the garlic pork bulgogi. The bulgogi was so soft and juicy. The banchan was tasty as well and paired well with the meat. Service was super fast and our waiter was very attentive to refills and ordering more meat. I know this spot gets busy on weekends so be sure to make a reservation ahead of time. Parking is easy!

I forgot which cut this was but it was from the AYCE menu.

Is this place gluten free?

It's heavy on meat and little side dishes of various veggies and sauces. But that doesn't necessarily mean gluten free. They're very friendly and I'm sure if you called and asked they could guide you as to what is or isn't gluten free on their menu.

Do they have halal meat?

No halal meat sorry

We ordered a spread: gyoza with sweet and spicy sauce, kimchi pancakes, fried shrimp, soy garlic wings, takoyaki, LA galbi, and jjampong with noodles... plus way too many drinks. We arrived early and scored prime seats by the bar, which turned out to be perfect, especially once the night shifted into more of a club vibe with a DJ. The energy was great, and most of the food was surprisingly delicious -- everything hit except the jjampong. We were expecting udon noodles, but it came with thin, clear noodles instead, and the flavor was a bit off for us. That said, the staff handled everything perfectly, and it didn't take away from the rest of the experience. Between the food, drinks, and nightlife atmosphere, we had an awesome time and will definitely be back. I don't understand how someone can screw up Korean food in Korean town. Every restaurant in the area gets better and better. Competition is high. The price is on the high end. There only seemed to be one or two waiters in the whole restaurant and we were checked up on maybe once after receiving our food, even though it was shockingly empty. The food itself was good, rosè tteokbokki was spicy and texture was perfect. Kimchi pancake was also crispy and had a good ratio of batter to kimchi, but it was pretty bland and definitely needed the sauce. Kkanpungi was decent as well as the buddaejiggae and prices were fair. Drink pictures may be misleading so make sure to look at the description! Anyways the whole experience felt like we were just eating in the dark with quiet background music. Don't expect anything for birthdays either. They share a space with other businesses in a somewhat food hall/bar type of vibe. Some businesses from the original "the block" food hall have moved here like snocream. There are a lot of different plate, bowl, and combo variations to choose from. For my first time, it was very hard to choose but I opted with the seafood combo which has fried fish, fried shrimp, and a choice of meat. The flavor is amazing especially the bbq marinade on the beef. The batter used for the shrimp and fish tastes the same, a little bland, but light batter not overly greasy. I'm not sure what authentic hawaiian food is supposed to taste like to compare this but I think the seafood needs some kind of sauce. Portion size is great, one combo plate can be shared between two people but u might want to have your own as you're eating it. The take-out menu vs. dine-in menu are a little confusing, I'm not sure which has the better value and/or if theres any difference in portion size or what-not but we got the to-go combo and just ate in store. The dine-in menu I was told just gets plated instead of put in a box but i'm wondering if you get more/less meat in that sense because why are there two different menus? Overall this spot is pretty solid and a different kind of cuisine thats good to have around the area. I will likely come back and update my review as I try the other items on the menu and as they continue to renovate the space.
