A couple of friends and I stopped by 9292 Shabu (not to be confused with 9292 KBBQ or 9292 Pocha) for some hot pot. It was a Wednesday night so it was pretty quiet- which was to our benefit! It allowed us to own the sauce bar and own the very extensive buffet bar which is full of noodles, fish balls, dumplings, vegetables, and other amazing add-ons to your meal (hot dogs anyone?) Honestly was impressed with the wide selection of food- which is a must for any hot pot experience. I was very happy with the entire experience, you'll catch me there again!

Went here on a weeknight on a Thursday. It was relatively empty overall and we were perhaps the third table in the entire restaurant at prime dinner time of 7pm. However, server was pretty attentive when we were there. The only thing we had to order through the were drinks, the meat, and the broth. Everything else, you do it self-serve which is pretty convenient and makes it fast. The selection was pretty good so I had no complaints. However, one thing we did not like was the inconsistency in meat quality each time we ordered it. The same fatty beef brisket came out in different ways on 3 different occasions. All in all, it's pretty good but many better ones available in the area.

Overall, my boyfriend and I enjoyed this place, but wouldn't be our top choice to come back for hot pot. Even though the quality of their meat and veggies was excellent, 40 dollars for all you can eat from a very limited menu, with limited broth choices, is pricey compared to the other hot pot places in the area. The service started off well but as the place got busy (there was one waiter for like seven tables) we hardly got to see our server due to the fact that he was busy with other customers. We ended up with the bone broth for our individual pots and it was flavorful, especially with the fresh vegetables buffet that was the highlight of this place. We tried most of their meat choices which we both agreed was great quality! The place is also very quiet; we came early during 5 PM but as dinner time came around it got quite busy; although it was not noticeably loud. Good for families and overall casual.

Greeted with a friendly smile upon arrival . our waitress was tentative and helpful. Came here on a Saturday lunch. You get to pick your hot pot broth base and pick out your meat to cook in hot pot. Amount is generous . Sides , sauce and veggies are attainable at the buffet bar. Huge variety of everything for the hot pot. For the amount we ate it was worth every dollar. I highly recommend.

Clean and convenient! All you can eat for $30 a person. The vegetables and sides were buffet style which I preferred so I can try a little bit of everything and get a whole plate of dumplings. Rice is free too, but as an expert at all you can eat, it's a cardinal sin to eat more sides than meat. Worth a try!

Awesome place for single serve hot pot with lots of great menu items. Felt a bit pricey maybe, but I won't count that against them since the quality was so high.

Was very impressed after we were done. Prior to this, I think urban hotpot was my favorite. We enjoyed that you can get your own veggies, noodles, tofu and sauces. You don't feel obligated to waste food or get more of a particular veggie you enjoy. The only thing you can't get is the meat but they brought out huge and high quality portions. It is by far the more expensive AYCE but I think it's worth the admission.

Tried 9292 Shabu, not the Korean BBQ, and it was fantastic! It was my first time at a shabu style restaurant in years and the waiter was very helpful and attentive. All of the meat was freshly sliced and tasted fresh. The sauce and veggie bar was super clean as well and had a great variety. I was surprised it was fairly empty... I think most people were over at the 9292 Korean BBQ side. It was honestly so much fun; we definitely will be back!

Nice sides, meats come out very fast. Good service. They play late 90's Korean music. Ambiance is great.

New place in Annandale and the food is really good. But it always seems to be really crowded.

The Most Fun You'll Have at Dinner in Sterling KPOT Korean…read moreBBQ & Hot Pot in Sterling is an absolute blast from start to finish. The all-you-can-eat format blends Korean BBQ and hot pot into one hands-on, unforgettable dining experience -- and they pull it off beautifully. With nearly 100 options to choose from, including tender beef brisket, pork belly, marinated short ribs, seafood, and fresh vegetables , there is truly something for everyone at the table. The sauce bar lets you customize every bite, and the variety of hot pot broths means you can go bold and spicy or keep it mild and savory. The appetizer bar features kimchi, pickled vegetables, and seasoned salads that keep things interesting between rounds of grilling. The energy in the restaurant is lively and fun, making it perfect for groups, date nights, or any celebration. Service was attentive and helpful -- our server guided us through the whole experience like a pro. Great value for the quality and quantity of food you get. If you haven't tried KPOT yet, gather your crew and go. It's not just dinner -- it's an experience.

The steak is thinly sliced, which makes it cook far too fast because there is no thickness to it…read more The selection is not nearly as good as other locations. Even basic items like teas are not included in the price, which is disappointing. It also believe something is being added to the meat to fill you up. I don't know what it is, but whatever it is, it made me feel uncomfortably full after only a small amount of food (4 small wings and 2 thin 1/2 inch slices of meat). That is not a normal or enjoyable AYCE experience. I am not sure where these good reviews are coming from. I have my ideas, and that is that they are giving out rewards for positive reviews. It cannot possibly be because the food is good. I have had similar experiences at the Frederick location as well, so this does not seem like a one-off issue. Overall, it feels like the quality and value are not there. If food has to be altered just to make people feel full and increase profit, then the AYCE model should be reconsidered. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to anymore KPOT locations. There are other Korean BBQ places that don't make me feel sick after eating there.

We tried A&J and liked it a lot!…read more This is not a typical Chinese-American restaurant. A&J has quite a few pleasantly unexpected dishes. Service was welcoming and efficient. On a mid-Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was about ¾ full. We started out with the Wonton Soup and the Spicy Wonton soup. The Wonton soup is just okay, but the Spicy Wonton Soup is wonderful and highly recommended. For another appetizer, we ordered the Scallion Pancake. It has a nice dense texture and I really liked it. It would've been even better if it came with a dipping sauce. We also ordered the pickled cabbage. It was good, though lacking seasoning. Our first entrée was ground pork in a delicious sauce accompanied by sprouts and thinly sliced cucumber (or was that zucchini?). Recommended! Our second entrée was a Pan Fried Beef Bun. The beef was flavorful but the bread was kinda dry. Our last entrée was the Beef Wraps. These were great! Who woulda thunk that beef and fresh carrots would go together so well?! Oh, the chili sauce in a jar on the table is extra tasty. At the end, before we got our check, we were given a plate with sliced cucumbers in a light tasty sesame chili sauce. Excellent! But the hot tea was an epic fail. It had no flavor whatsoever. Peeking inside the teapot, all I could see was a micro tiny tea bag floating or sort of sinking. One other thing I kinda don't want to bring up in light of the great food we enjoyed, but need to in the spirit of full disclosure, is to mention that A&J shares space in the building with several other businesses. The restrooms are common to all the businesses. A&J needs to lean hard on the property owner/manager to do a deep cleaning in those restrooms. I'll leave it at that.
