This restaurant is in the Lotte shopping center and has been such a convenient place to have a bite after some shopping. They have a lot of authentic korean foods including sundubu, seafood pancake, and others. The food comes super hot and fast. However, the portions are a little bit small for the price.

    Pork cutlet

Delicious and quite affordable. Good service and clean too. You should try their pork cutlet, jjajangmyeon, and jampong.

I've never heard of this spot before, and you typically will not find me in Springfield. However, a few of us made lunch plans this past Good Friday to take advantage of the $29.99 AYCE weekday lunch pricing. We got three rounds of beef brisket (chadol), one thin & thick pork belly (samgyupsal) each, and half an order of large intestine (daechang). The chadol was a little too fatty than I'd like, but it was high quality and comparable to non-AYCE options like Meokja Meokja. I didn't love the thin samgyupsal as much, but the thick version was so meaty and juicy. The intestines were a fatty treat, and I was good with just a couple bites. We had to ask for ssamjang and sesame oil for sauces, which they were generous with giving. Our server was pretty attentive, but we thought it was weird that he cooked the thin samgyupsal and the beef brisket at the same time. As for sides, we asked for lots of them (sadly our corn cheese never came). The fermented soybean stew was strong, but a bit too salty at the end. The egg bomb was fluffy and delicious. They also have ramen (aka shin ramen) which we enjoyed by adding several pieces of chadol and letting it soak in there to get that deep meaty flavor. I enjoyed the kimchi throughout the meal, which was the perfect "not quite fresh, but still crunchy" texture. Overall, we ate to our heart's content. I definitely would be back for more chadol, thick samgypsal, and a bit of daechang in the future. The $30 pricing is a steal for the amount of food we got, but I'd hesitate to pay for the $40 dinner price. I don't eat enough at AYCE spots to get my money's worth, so I would rather spend that $40 at a non-AYCE spot for higher quality cuts like galbi and rib tips.

Easily some of the best I've had in the area in a long time, and they set the bar high going into the meal. Once we got to the meat, though, it was a little underwhelming. The all you can eat selection was limited, and a lot of the flavors leaned sweet. We were hoping for more savory, classic Korean BBQ flavors. The sauces were fine, but nothing that really stood out. If we came back, we would definitely add on the ribeye or galbi instead of sticking strictly to the all you can eat option. Service was great and attentive, and the atmosphere is solid for the Springfield area. That said, our hood vent almost came off mid grill, which definitely took away from the experience. Overall, a strong start with great banchan and service, but the BBQ itself did not quite deliver.

The interior is wide and open, the TVs play K-Pop music videos to keep the spirits up, and everything is clean and emmaculate. The restaurant offers both entree meals and Korean BBQ. There is no unlimited Korean BBQ options, so you can pick from either the a la carte options or the pre-set combos. The meat quality is very good and is delicious even without a marinade. Your server will be the one to prep, cook, and cut your meats, so you don't need to worry about the internal temperatures. The banchan assortment is varied and delicious and compliments whatever meats you order. I have not seen the place really busy before. Granted, I've shown up at a fairly early dinner hour (5-6:30 PM) on the weekends, but I haven't seen more than two other tables filled. I'm assuming they get busier the later on it gets, but the plus of showing up early is never having to worry about getting a table and service. They do seem to do a decent amount of to-go orders though. I see folks coming in for pick-up through my meal service. Overall, for a more up-scale (and pricey) non-all-you-can eat Korean BBQ, Seoul is a solid choice.

I'll get to why in sec…read more But let me at least tell you that the fried dumplings and the kimchi fried dumplings are excellent: great flavor and a crispy texture too! The bulgogi and the pork belly dishes were nicely presented. Here, to be fair, I need to acknowledge a difference in preferences. I thought the seasoning on the bulgogi was just okay and I absolutely didn't like pork belly seasoning. But! JP thought the pork belly was delicious. Okay, on to the elephant in the room. Why only two stars? I'll start with the menu. You order at the cash register. When we went to the counter, there was a paper copy of the menu and all the prices were blacked out. The cashier perkily explained that the prices had changed so that was why prices were blacked out. So why not print a menu with the current prices? And the reality is that even though there are tables in Puzukan, this is completely a take-out restaurant. Though our order was for dine-in, we were served our meal in take-out boxes with plastic silverware. Covid redux? Also, there was no banchan, nor any soy or hot sauce on the table. What cemented two stars for Puzukan was my visit to the restroom. The corridor to the restrooms was cluttered with supplies on shelves sticking out every which way. And then the far restroom...oh that restroom. It was filthy with bodily by-product flung on the wall. But what was the worst was this restroom was filled haphazardly with more restaurant supplies. Lying out in the open were a whisk and other cooking equipment on a shelf next to the toilet. Need I say more?
