P2. Beef Noodle Soup Combination #1
    Kevin V.

I walked in on a Friday at around 12:20pm. There was only one other customer eating. The dining area is big and there's plenty of tables available for groups. They offer combos if you want pho, an appetizer and a drink. I was seated immediately and I asked for the large pho combination #1 which had eye-round steak, flank, fatty brisket, soft tendon, tripe and crunchy skirt flank. The service was quick and it took 3-4 minutes after I placed my order. The pho was hot and the broth was very flavorful. It came with a side of bean sprouts, thai basil, lime and jalapeños. I would recommend here if you're in the area!

Pho Hot is my once-a-year visit restaurant. Their price is high and their food isn't the best. I like to go to Pho Hot when i'm really craving their crispy wings, or their young egg + intestines to go along with my pho. I recently went for my one year visit, and ordered their Crispy Chicken Wings, Pho Deluxe (for myself), Pho Combination #1 (for my fiance), Chicken Young Eggs + Intestines, Salted Lemonade and a regular lemonade. They now serve their pho in this food test which I thought was so cute but it didn't take up alot of table space. -Crispy Chicken Wings - 5/5 : fried to order, fresh, super hot and extra crispy. -Pho Deluxe: 4/5 : basically the combination + a short rib; definitely not worth the extra money. -Pho Combo #1 : its good but not the best; def not worth the price. -Chicken Young Eggs + Intestines: 6/5 - I love young chicken eggs and intestines, I wish every pho shop had this on their menu. -Salted Lemonade: 5/5 - I love salted lemonade- I kept adding water so it lasted longer LOL -Regular Lemonade: 5/5 - very good and refreshing --Additionally, I ordered vinegared onions and green onions in oil. The vinegar onions were ok; the green onions were ok as well. I asked for green onions in oil but received green onions in regular broth. It just didnt hit the same as "in oil" since it wasnt as fatty. Service was good and the ambiance was nice. The restaurant is pretty big with plenty of seats. Theres a shared parking lot with the other stores and a few handicapped parking right out front.

I ordered a combo and pork belly. They're both equally nasty . The combination doesn't have pate nor yellow Vietnamese mayo . A lot of bread and not enough meat . I won't even bother to say anything about the pork belly so bad . Worse Vietnamese sandwich I ever had in the whole entire country . How can anyone even sell these sandwiches. They're like 11.95 $ on uber eats for each sandwich. After taxes tips delivery fee. Distance fee . It came out 37$. Crazy and I had 2 bites in each sandwich. What a waste of time money . They should learn how to make Vietnamese sandwich.

My mom and I were very impressed with the very large menu of this place and unique menu items. I have never ordered seafood pho before or have ever had the urge to but it sounded so interesting that I had to try. Strangely the flavors worked very well together and I liked it a lot. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and I like that the store is open quite late which is why we were able to stop by to dine in. We will be coming back to try the rest of the menu.

A random gem we happened to come across. My friend and I was just driving down the road heading home to Baltimore and we were hungry. We saw the sign and randomly made a turn into the shopping center. They were closing in 30 mins and still welcomed us inside. We also had bubble tea with us and they said we can still sit down. They were so nice! We got our food and ate all of it within 30 minutes! I am so thankful for them and the food was so freaking delicious! I loved every second of it! As an elite, I highly recommend this restaurant for some super delicious pho!

Ambiance 2.5/5 The inside is pretty big with plenty of tables but there are a lot that are closed off. They do have a lot of nice decor like a fountain and a fake flame in the middle of the restaurant but they didn't really stand out. It seemed like they used part of the restaurant as storage. The interior has a lot of potential but right now it's just average. Service 2.5/5 I got a seat quickly and the waiter took my order pretty fast but the service was pretty meh. The waiter didn't really come check on me after taking my order but I didn't really need much here. Didn't have much contact with the staff besides taking my order getting my food, and paying my bill. Garlic Crispy Chicken Wings ($13) 3/5 The wings were pretty good. The skin was crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. I didn't really taste any garlic but the glaze was sweet and had a honey like consistency. The order came with 5 wings that were average size. It is expensive for just 5 wings but tastewise it was solid. Pho Deluxe - Large ($19) 3.5/5 The deluxe pho had a good amount of meat and definitely felt deluxe. The meat was tender and chewy and the short rib was particularly good. The broth had a bit of a tangy taste which was unusually for me. I've also never seen pho brought out in a bowl on a tray with the onions and cilantro on the side. The noodles were average pho noodles but there was a decent portion. This is definitely not than an average bowl of pho but I think the extra meat makes it worth it.

There was only 2 tables when I got there. We got our appetizer before we even got water. Had to ask for the side onions 2 times after we got everything else. The deluxe pho was fine came out in the usual bowls. Not sure why one came out in reg bowl and one came out in stone pot..?!‍ They shouldn't have used a stone pot for my short rib pho... Unless they make the noodles al dente or put to the side. So soggy when I use chopsticks to pull the noodle up it just breaks. Had to dump out most the noodles so it wouldn't get more soggy and soak in all the soup. Both pho have short rib in it.... ‍‍ Bhanmi was also very small barely no meat or veggies. I did like my drink (Dragon Fruit Yogurt) though We asked if they changed the cook. They said no.. shouldn't change what wasn't broken... Been coming here for years on and off... Not sure I would go back anymore

I used to come to pho hot 4 times a week, it has changed a lot...some good some bad. However, it's one of the pho spots that stay open layer than most and works for me when i have a late night craving. The oxtail pho is great! 10/10, and they serve it in a stone clay pot so it stays hot the entire time you eat it. If you like it that is. I believe they do that because it's a little higher price, so that's good. I don't like my soup staying extremely hot so I would prefer a regular bowl, but I wasn't mad since it tasted yummy. The place is ginormous so they always got space for you. Service sucks, but whatever loli don't expect much from a pho spot... I've only had a nice experiences and service at fancy viet places.

Anyone who has lived in Annandale, Virginia knows the area is affectionally known by locals as "Asiandale", and for good reason. Vietnamese restaurants, stores and shops are all over the place. Clearly, this is a great spot to find tasty Vietnamese food and this place is no exception to this notion. Try it. If you like Vietnamese food you'll probably enjoy it.

Pho with rare steak and tendon. The broth was standard, and the condiments served on the side.

I went here on a weekday and had a large bowl of pho, which hit the spot. It was decent, but a bit more expensive than your typical bowl. The restaurant has a walk-up counter where you can order boba drinks. The location is convenient, so drop in if you need a quick fix.

One of the few places open late night for some vietnamese comfort food! They used to open much later, pre-covid. But I'll take their current 10PM closing. Lots of families go here for the large tables and open space. Service is fairly quick too. Just order by the number on the menu if your vietnamese pronunciation is shaky. My go-to dishes are the beef pho, any number is good. Grilled pork with vermicelli, or broken rice. Lots of shredded garden veggies. It's like eating crisp, zesty salad with chilled rice noodles, or hot rice. The nuoc cham adds a nice citrusy zing with underlying umami when poured over everything. Love the Vietnamese beef stew cooked with lemon grass, carrots and big chunks of tender beef. You have a choice of crispy vietnamese baguette, or vermicelli. I usually go for the baguette, AND order a side of egg noodles to go with the copious amounts of stew. That's a big meal I do not do often, but so good when I do! If you'r enot already well hydrated from the pho broth, a tall glass of Salted Lemonade is a refreshing choice, or a vietnamese coffee both hot or cold. There's a lot of lunch specials. I picked the beef fried rice. It comes with banchan and miso soup. The beef fried rice was very good. What was especially good was the delicious black bean sauce that came with the rice. I thought the tasty miso soup was excellent, very rich and silky. Banchan was kimchi, Danmuji fruit and slices of white onion. Accompanying the banchan was a dipping sauce that was similar to, but not the same as the black bean sauce. I will definitely be back.

The beef noodle soup was good and clean but I would get the thin noodles next time. The wide noodles weren't as bouncy as I would've liked. I would come back for the cucumber salad and the peking beef wrap. All of our orders came reasonably on time after each other but we were still waiting on the fried pork chop over rice. Time passed as we almost finished with all of our dished until we asked one of the servers if our fried pork chop was coming. The server looked at our receipt order and acknowledged we did order it but told us it was sold out. Not one staff told us it was sold out when we placed the order or even when our other orders came out. We've been waiting this whole time expecting the fried pork chop not knowing it was sold out. We were asked if we wanted something else to replace the order and we decided to get the fried chicken over rice.

Some of our food favorites were the moo ping with sticky rice as an appetizer. The pork marinade was really good! The crispy chicken with green curry was also delicious. The chicken had a great crisp, and it wasn't an overwhelming amount of green curry. The volcano tom yum dish using Mama instant noodles was a visually stunning dish. We should have listened when they said three dishes would be enough for four people, but we went with four anyway and ended up with delicious leftovers, so no regrets. All the noodles and dishes are shareable portions, which is great for groups. They also fry their meats really well. The pork was crispy and so good, and I totally get why Korean fried foods are so popular. Next time, I would try the chicken since the pork was just a little dry but still very good overall. The spicy seafood soup was incredibly umami forward and so good that I kept wanting more with every bite. The noodles have a slightly chewy yet smooth texture that makes them very addictive. The restaurant has a homey, comfortable atmosphere, and there is easy parking right outside, which is always a plus in Annandale. The reason for four stars instead of five is the kimchi. It was too salty and not fermented enough. For a restaurant in Annandale, we honestly expect better kimchi. That said, the radish kimchi was good. Overall, great food, generous portions, and warm service, just hoping the kimchi improves next time.

Unfortunately, I have not had a good service experience here. I visited a couple of times during the World Cup because of their advertised drink specials, and both visits ended with us being overcharged. When we questioned it, the staff gave what felt like the same rehearsed explanation each time. Before ordering, we specifically confirmed with our server that they were running the $5 rail drink special. By definition, a rail (or well) drink is made with the house liquor and a standard mixer. At JMT, however, you'll be charged extra for every little addition without anyone telling you beforehand. A splash of cranberry juice or tonic water resulted in additional charges that were never mentioned by either the server or the bartenders. On top of that, a 25% gratuity was automatically added despite our server being largely inattentive. Throughout the night, we repeatedly had to get up and ask for things ourselves, and not everyone at our table even received a cup for water. To make matters worse, both their menu and website clearly state that automatic gratuity applies to parties of 8 or more, yet our party of 6 was automatically charged 25%. When we brought these concerns to our server, he spoke with the manager, whose response was simply, "That's how we do things here." He explained that he wasn't familiar with the drinks because the bartenders determine the charges, and that it would be difficult to void and reprocess the bill. We were also told that they always add 25% gratuity for parties of 6 and that, in their view, a rail is simply a shot rather than a mixed well drink. Those explanations directly contradict both common industry terminology and the information advertised on their own menu and website. I understand that restaurants and bars get busy, and mistakes happen. What was disappointing was being told that they've been operating this way for a long time instead of acknowledging the inconsistencies or updating their advertised policies. That reflects poor management more than an isolated mistake. It doesn't feel good to invite friends somewhere only to have everyone end up paying more than expected because the advertised specials and gratuity policies don't match what is actually charged. I can't say how often this happens, but after experiencing it on multiple visits, I'd strongly recommend reviewing your bill carefully before paying.
