Placed an order to be delivered today for our weekly meal food! We got a sweet and sour soup with fish. It was only one piece of fish so could use more fish. The seasoning feel like it was missing something but not sure what it is, it taste a bit off! The okra was already boiled so it is too soft when you put it in the soup. Oh and if you order togo, everything will be kind of uncook and you go home and cook them (like hot pot wise) *ca kho to (caramelized fish) - a bit too sweet and very little fish for it's cost. * chicken caramelized - yummy! Lots of chicken and perfect with the rice and salad it comes with, *combination banh hoi: beef is not like a la lop, Meat was dry and so was shrimp. I wouldn't order this again! During our visit to the H Mart right around the corner of this place, I noticed this Pho place which faced the street, which was perfect! Upon entering, the establishment was clean, quiet and smelled clean too! Yes, that matters, because we all know somebody or someplace that ha s abad aroma about it. I ordered the lunch special which as a large beef pho that I could select 3 meats from, a spring roll or summer roll (I got the summer rolls, because they taste wonderful, freshly made at that!), and a soda.....all for $15.99. And my daughter had a kid's pho with either chicken or a slice of beef. The overall taste of the pho broth was ok, I mean it was very clean tasting. May be just needed a little bit more ingredients to give it a slightly salty flavor. Not to say that it wasn't good though, just not crazy I'd come back for more. The summer rolls were alright and the soda came to me in a can. Sort of usual for a restaurant and saves on the amount of glasses that need to be washed. The service was polite, courteous and quick. If you are looking for a nearby place to get some good tasting Pho and also do some H Mart shopping in a quiet area of Annadale, this is the place for you. So as always, enjoy your bite! read more

I had delivery earlier this week and ordered: -shrimp summer rolls -shaky beef -pork banh mi I didn't try the summer rolls. The shaky beef was ok-well seasoned but some beef was stringy. I was surprised there was no rice; maybe I'm not remembering that correctly but thought at most Viet restaurants rice comes with it. The pork banh mi was not good. The bread wasn't crusty but just very bready. Jalapeño was either missing or very light. Same with Mayo. Pork was a bit dry but well seasoned. If you're looking for Pho, this is a good place to get it! If you're looking for Bahn Mi, do not go here! I won't go over Pho as it's good here but let's focus on the Bahn Mi and little talk about their Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls. BAHN MI SANDWICHES: 1. I don't feel it's authentic enough to be called a Bahn Mi sandwich because it didn't come wrapped in paper. The traditional way one gets an authentic Bahn Mi sandwich is in a paper wrap and not a styrofoam container! 2. The pickled vegetables are not good! Whenever I get a Bahn mi sandwich I order extra pickled vegetables. The vegetables here were hardly pickled and there were no pickled radish. They packed my Bahn mi with lots and lots of carrots. Tons of carrots--geez! 3. The protein I ordered was dry and didn't have much flavor. 4. The mayo was ok but nothing to be excited about. 5. Overall...it was ok but I think I'll order a Bahn mi sandwich from another location. VIETNAMESE RICE PAPER ROLLS: 1. It was good with the normal fillings for a rice paper roll. 2. I had HIGH hopes for this place since it is in my neighborhood and I had received positive word of mouth from a relative. Well, needless to say, I won't be taking restaurant recommendations from that person anymore, since I found the food at Pho Anh Duong to be very subpar. I've passed by this place many times when I pop into the Kung-Fu tea next door, so I finally decided to check them out since I was craving some pho. Walk in and the interior is the typical pho joint. Tile floors, cream colored walls, with simple wooden tables and basic chairs. My appetizer of goi cuong (summer roll) was pedestrian and more lettuce than vermicelli rice noodle or other herbs. One shrimp was sliced in half and stuffed into the rice paper roll. Okay enough, nothing special. To use a bad Dad Joke pun here, the noodle soup was "pho-gettable". Any longtime pho junkie will tell you that when it comes to this dish, it's all about the broth, and the broth here was overly salty and lacked any real flavor. No notes of star anise, no ginger, no garlic - just a heavy MSG feel and overly clear broth. I will give them one extra star because at least the portion size was appropriate. Increasingly, pho restaurants are just providing a few slices of meat, loading up on the noodles, and then calling that a "large" bowl while charging consumer $12. This bowl had plentiful cuts of tendon, brisket, and other beef cuts. Noodles were prepared correctly - not over boiled and not overly gloppy. My FAVORITE pho in NoVA is Pho Hoang (https://www.yelp.com/biz/pho-hoang-centreville?osq=pho&sort_by=date_desc), but it is a real pain to get too since it's located out in the hinterlands of Centreville. I had a lunch with my manager at this place. I always walked by when heading to H mart, but never thought about trying the food. They had the lunch combo menu, so we ordered that one. It came with a large pho bowl, a choice of spring/summer rolls, and a soft drink. First of all, I want to talk about the portion. It was HUGE!! There was a lot of noodles and meats too! My little sis and I decided to grab Pho while in the area and I was excited to use the Yelp Check-in coupon. Little did I know that the shop doesn't accept it (it's marked to be valid for certain dates in August) and also cannot remove it from the app... After I got over that disappointment, we decided to order. For the appetizer, we spilt an order of the shrimp roll with peanut sauce. I loved how the cool ingredients tasted and the shrimp was prepared to perfection! Against my sister's advise I went for the beef meatball pho... the meat was tender, but lacked flavor and had tendons, so it was unappealing. So glad we tried this pho spot before stopping by the Hmart in Annandale, VA. When I walked in, we were greeted and seated promptly and given menus. I got my usual order at any pho place with fatty brisket and eye rounds. One thing I really liked about this place is their cleanliness, not only their utensils were very clean compare to Pho Ngoc Huong (where we frequently visit), but overall environment was much cleaner. Service is very quick, and the food is good. My husband gets ban mi and I opt for pho. The broth is very good. Even the small is a huge helping, and the first time I tried this place, I even had leftovers to take home. Prices are great, as two of us could eat for under 20 bucks. It's good for when you're looking for a warm bowl of soup to comfort you on a cold day, but not extraordinary enough to make you go out of your way to get during a rainy day. I also ordered a banh mi dac biet and I was very disappointed. The cold cuts did not have much flavoring and the bread was light, not the typical baguette bread used in a banh mi. After grabbing bubble tea at Kung Fu Tea literally next door, coming here to actually satisfy our looming hunger seemed like the logical choice (apparently making a trip to my car - which was parked just outside - to go elsewhere felt like muuuch too long a trek to brave in the freezing cold, go figure)... The restaurant was fairly empty and looked like your typical pho place - a pretty bare bones set up, looked like almost any other pho place (with the exception of the pretty spectacular chandelier in the middle which seemed a bit out of place but caught our eye regardless). The spring rolls were a bit on the dry side and not as satisfying as I had hoped they would be, but our entrees were both tasty and filling (despite not actually being hungry I ended up finishing my entire meal so I figured that was a good indication I liked the food, haha). I will say that none of the items we ordered seemed super duper fresh, but then again we did arrive close to when they closed so I wouldn't be surprised if we maybe got a leftover batch or something. There's this one dish I love here, has a combination of pork, shrimp, pork in grape leaves, and shrimp on sugar cane. It comes with vermicelli wrappers that reminds me of Sri Lankan grasshoppers. I use it to make a taco with the basil and cilantros and put the meats inside. We've had the Bann mi, it tasted like 12 inches of disappointment. Might have been acceptable at $4 price point. All their grilled proteins are pre-cooked hours before u order it. They r cold n dry. It's more obvious when u order their vermicelli. Never had cold and dry proteins in any Vietnamese restaurant in the DMV area. This is the first. They could have done this to delivery only. The main reason I'm giving this place a high rating is because of one thing: Reliability. It's open until 10pm, which I appreciate for when I get off of my night job at 9pm and am craving pho. Service is always quick; at the longest, there's maybe about 5-10 minutes from when I order my food to when it is set on the table in front of me. I see the same people working here every time, and they're very nice. They're attentive and refill your water as soon as they notice, which is nice. The spring rolls are slightly on the smaller side, but they're good nonetheless. Summer rolls come with various combinations of shrimp, pork, and beef. I always get the Pho Tai, and the broth isn't as "deep" as other places I've gone to, but it's still flavorful enough to drink by itself in my opinion. Their Thai iced tea is also good. You can go next door to Kung Fu Tea afterwards if you'd prefer to get your Thai iced tea from there. I love this shopping center in general! CVS, H-Mart, Kung Fu Tea, tutti frutti, laundromat, and pho. Their banh mi, however, is pretty lacking. It's like 80% bread and then 20% actual content. Not sure why they skimp so much on the meat and veggies. I opened it up the first time my boyfriend ordered a banh mi, and it looked so...empty? For $5, I can get a way bigger and better banh mi at Ba Le in Falls Church. I wouldn't come here for the Banh Mi, unless you're looking to eat more bread than meat/veggies. The interior is also nice and open and airy, unlike some other places where tables are rather cramped/smushed together. They have canvas panels of some beach scenery. The friend asked if the broth contained any pork in it and the waitress said yes, which was really surprising since pho broth should only consist of beef. I also ordered their spring rolls and that was not appealing either, I liked how they dressed it up with some salad, cucumbers, and shredded carrots but it was just ehh... spring rolls were not as hot either, it was room temperature which means it was fried earlier. My friends ordered the vermicelli bowls, one with shrimp and the other with beef. Although it looked good, i don't know if it tasted good or not.
