Everything tasted great! I ordered extra lemon to squeeze into my soup. The restaurant was clean and looked simple with some nice Vietnamese decor. It was quiet when I went for lunch on a Tuesday. The food was average priced and the portions were huge. We really enjoyed everything we ate! Bathrooms were also clean. Easy parking in the springfield plaza. I suggest going here. I tried Brothers Bistro this past Sunday and was pleased. I came a little after noon. It was not crowded and I was seated immediately. Comfortable and casual ambience. I liked how at the get-go they gave me a full set of silverware and chopsticks swaddled in a napkin. The crispy 1. Chả Giò spring rolls with ground pork and crab were excellent. I especially liked that they provided two dipping sauce for the spring rolls. One sauce was sweet and the other was tart with fish sauce flavor. I liked both sauces equally. For my entrée, I ordered the 24. Cơm Sườn Chả pork chop. I was intrigued by the menu description which included egg custard and broken rice. Overall, the pork was very good and I liked that it was not over-marinated with lemongrass. The egg custard was a square of something gelatinous. It had a mild pleasant flavor. So the broken rice is interesting. It seems like a short-grain white rice, but has a very nice somewhat dense texture. Even though the menu advertised lettuce with tomato for my pork chop, the lettuce came with thinly sliced carrot and radish instead of tomato, which was fine. Today was supposed to be a special day. My daughter turned four years old on June 14, 2026, and after church I took her out for a daddy-daughter birthday lunch to celebrate. Unfortunately, what should have been a joyful memory became one of the most painful dining experiences I have ever had. We arrived at the restaurant around 11:30 a.m. and ordered chicken wings as an appetizer, along with Chicken Fried Rice and a Vermicelli Combo for our main course. After we were seated, three other tables arrived: a couple, two gentlemen, and a family of four. My daughter and I were the only Black customers in the restaurant at the time. As the minutes passed, I noticed every table that arrived after us was being served. The family of four received their spring roll appetizer, the other tables were already enjoying their main courses, and takeout orders were being prepared and sent out. Meanwhile, after nearly forty minutes, my daughter and I had not received a single item, not even our appetizer. I politely brought this to the server's attention and was told that our food was "on the way." We continued to wait. As more time passed, I watched every other customer being taken care of while my daughter sat patiently waiting for the birthday lunch I had promised her. The moment that truly broke my heart was when the family who arrived after us had received both their appetizer and their meal, while we were still sitting there empty-handed. Looking around the room, everyone else was eating except us. At that point, I felt invisible. I do not want to accuse anyone of racism without proof, and perhaps this was simply poor customer service. However, I cannot ignore how it felt to be the only Black family in the restaurant and the only table that seemed to be overlooked. Whether intentional or not, the experience left me feeling humiliated, hurt, and deeply disappointed. With tears in my eyes, I stood up, took my daughter, and left. No parent should have to walk out of a restaurant feeling that way, especially while trying to celebrate their child's birthday. What hurts most is that my daughter will only turn four once. I can never get that moment back. A day that should have been filled with smiles, laughter, and happy memories instead left me questioning why we were treated so differently from everyone else around us. There was no manager on site at the time, so I was unable to share my concerns in person. I am writing this in the hope that this experience is taken seriously and that steps are taken to ensure no other family feels overlooked, excluded, or unwelcome. Brothers Bistro is located in Springfield Plaza near Springfield Town Center and serve a decent variety of Vietnamese dishes. Service is great and more importantly, food taste great. Their Vietnamese coffee is wonderfully strong with just the right amount of sweetness. We haven't tried all their dishes but so far, enjoyed what we've had in all our visits. My go-to is the Shaky Beef with fried rice which is served with tender beef, Chinese sausage and an egg over the fried rice. Their hot pot is good but not AYCE. I ordered the dry noodle, and unfortunately it was too sweet for my liking, the sauce mix just didn't work for me. The meat toppings also didn't taste very fresh, which was disappointing. I also didn't like that the condiments weren't readily available on the table and had to be requested each time. I've also tried their pho and bun bo hue. Have been wanting to try Brother's for a while and really enjoyed myself last night. Prices are in line with other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, so don't expect cheap, but the portions were generous and it was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the lemongrass beef skewers with the lettuce and rice paper wrappers. I didn't entirely know what to expect, but it did help that I've made summer rolls before at home and knew a little bit about how to soften the wrappers by soaking them. They came in an ingenious soaking dish that was fun to use table side. Just to be sure, I asked our waiter to give me his tips. It was nice to have both the lettuce leaves and the rice paper wrappers to wrap up the delicious meat, veggies, vermicelli noodles and herbs. Super tasty! The Vietnamese family that was enjoying a hot pot feast behind us kept looking at me, so I was probably doing it all wrong, but hey - the dining experience is supposed to be fun and I did enjoy myself. Hubby got a yummy bowl with a seafood mix and crispy rice. We also really enjoyed the flavorful spring rolls. Thrilled to find this superb Vietnamese restaurant in Springfield Plaza (next to Halal Guys). This is now the third excellent eatery in that plaza along with Bob and Ediths and Hot Peppercorn! Walls are nicely decorated with traditional art, and nice that there are lots of windows. I ordered the seafood clay pot and was pleasantly surprised that the rice was crispy like you get with dolsot bibimbap. Nice array of flavors. My wife got the spring rolls that you wrap yourself after dipping the sheet in water - that was a new experience for us! Those were yummy, she got the ones with beef skewers. My family's new favorite place to eat in Springfield! This place has delicious Vietnamese Food at a price that's competitive to other local Vietnamese restaurants in the area. It's something to expect but the music is very calming. The menu is extensive and covered to popular dishes like Pho, Bo Luc Lac, Bún bò Huế, Cơm tấm, Banh xeo, and many more. We started off with Chả Giò which is pretty much Spring Rolls with Ground Pork, Crab Meat, Shrimp served with fish sauce and vegetables. It was pretty delicious and it came out fast too! What I got for this visit is Cơm Tấm Đặc Biệt. It's like a special rice dish with a grilled pork chop, shrimp paste fried in a tofu wrap, a fried egg, shredded pork, a shrimp roll on chinese sausage, and of course more vegetables with fish sauce. It is absolutely my favorite and it's just best if you pour all the fish sauce. Adds extra unami to your dish. It was delicious! I can't say much about the service because the server was able to take our order quickly but we knew what we wanted. They did refill our water cups numerous times so I do think it's a plus. I had heard great things about Brothers and couldn't wait to try the food here. I must say the food here lived up to the hype. The interior is nothing special, very basic, but that's not why you come here. The shrimp summer rolls we started off with were so good, the wrappers come out dry and you dip them in water to soften just enough before you roll your own. This took a bit of instruction from our server to get the texture just right, but there is nothing like a fresh wrapped summer roll to start your meal! The pho here was a hit, delicious broth with heaps of noodles. The brisket and tai were tender and melted in your mouth. We also ordered the fish and shrimp hot pot, which was the highlight of our meal. The sauce they cooked this in (I think mostly black bean with carmelized sugar and soy) was delightful. The fish was super tender and went beautifully with some white rice. Overall we had a fantastic lunch at Brothers. Every dish was executed perfectly and the service is friendly and attentive. Ok...Real Talk here. When it comes to rating Viet restaurants, the most important question should be, "is this place good enough that I don't have to drive to Eden Center?" By now, most folks in the DMV, but especially in NoVa are at least familiar with Eden Center (https://www.yelp.com/biz/eden-center-falls-church) which opened in 1984 and has been the long time epicenter for authentic Vietnamese cuisine and grocery. I still loving going to Eden at least once a month, but I don't always enjoy the drive along I-66, and especially what I term the "bumper car" parking lot, where I've definitely found a few scratches and dings on my car from inconsiderate people. So it was with this litmus test in mind that I stopped by Brother's Bistro recently with a few folks, and while we may not be "experts," I'd characterize our group as "authoritative enthusiasts," since we all have relatives of Viet descent in our families. And after my meal the verdict is...yes, Brother's Bistro is good enough that I don't have to drive to Eden Center to get Vietnamese food...and in Springfield of all places! This space used to be the former Pho Hong Anh, which I used to patronize back in the day. As some of the other reviewers have noted, the interior has been modernized with brighter color schemes, decorative lighting, and just a more spacious feel. TIP: Try not to get a table by door during the winter months, because even though there is a small foyer, every time that door opens, you're gonna get a blast of cold air! We ordered several dishes and dined family style, so we could all sample from the entrees. The Bò lúc lắc (aka Shaky Beef) had wok stir-fried beef-marinated with subtle hints of fish sauce and the familiar finish of butter at the end, while being served over a bed of fresh watercress, tomatoes, and onions. Beef was not tough and had a good char on the meat. The Bánh xèo đặc biệt, was super tasty. Unlike at many Viet restaurants, this specialty of Southern Vietnam, the delicate crepe was stuffed (almost overflowing) with shrimps, pork, mung beans, onion and bean sprouts. Take some of the Romaine lettuce and herbs (perilla leaves, mint) a piece of the banh xeo, and then dip into the nuoc cham sauce and bam! It is an umami explosion. Slightly disappointed in their version of the Bún thịt nướng chả giò, since this is one of my favs at several restaurants in Eden. Grilled pork is paired with crispy spring roll which is served over rice vermicelli, lettuce, cucumbers, pickled carrots, daikon radish, and sprinkled with ground peanuts. My main gripe is that there was one lone skewer of meat and one spring roll which was cut into pieces; that and I thought the noodles were a bit over boiled leading to a gloppy consistency. But the flavor of the grilled meat was good and I could definitely taste the lemongrass and fish sauce marinade. Service was a bit slow, but mainly I attribute that to Brothers Bistro being a new place and working out the operational kinks. But water glasses remained filled and they didn't mind when we kept asking for the house nuoc cham sauce, which is REALLY good! Three entrees with just waters for the table came out to about $60 with tax and tip. Not the cheapest meal but also not outrageous...and I also factor in the time and gas and it's probably about the same as if I drove to Eden Center for an equivalent meal. Four solid stars for this welcome addition of Viet cuisine to the Springfield/Annandale area. read more

It feels like this area is becoming the next Annandale. Food (5/5) Pho dac biet: I've had a lot of pho, like this is probably the one dish I've ate the most of out of anything and I was so pleasantly surprised by how unique this broth it. Never had anything like it. It has subtle differences that all add up into a very robust broth. Plus they are not shy with meat portions. Banh hoi combo brothers: At first, it looks rather pricey but after eating it, it is worth every penny. Its bigger than it looks, we were stuffed. Plus they brought out the fancy contraption!!
