Note that none of the other reviews on this place are useful! Good Bop is a ghost kitchen, located inside the 54 Restaurant at Springfield Mall. You can order in-person, but ordering on their online platform is the easiest, and there's a bit more room for customizations (such as opting for a heavier drizzle on the sauces, etc.), as well as other appetizers and sides you can get. We wanted to focus on their rice bowls - you get to choose your protein (bulgogi, KFC, pork or chicken katsu, pork belly, spicy chicken, spicy pork, mandoo, tofu, salmon, or strictly veggies), your base (white rice or a spring mix), toppings (sweet potato noodles, aka jahp chae, pickled cucumbers, kimchi, spinach, carrots, butter corn, wonton chips, Asian slaw, nori strips, mozzarella, and/or a fried egg), sauces (spicy mayo, garlic mayo, gochujang, teriyaki, sweet miso, and/or sriracha), and an option to add extras, such as rice, protein, or a spring mix. My bowl consisted of white rice, bulgogi, sweet potato noodles, kimchi, spinach, and butter corn, topped with spicy mayo and gochujang. I did request pickled cucumbers, but those were missing. The sauces were definitely heavy, which I didn't mind, but the bowl is definitely more on the saltier/sweeter end. I thought there was a good ratio with the toppings and the rice, and the serving can easily be split between two people or made into two meals. Service at 54 was super friendly, welcoming, and helpful! Plenty of parking at the Springfield Mall. +online ordering available +generous portions! +friendly service +located inside 54 Restaurant

Salmon bowl with spicy edamame, Asian slaw, garlic butter corn, pickled cucumbers

Ordered via DoorDash but before I placed the order, I gave them a call because I have a good allergy to ask about some of the toppings. The person who answered was able to answer all of my questions regarding ingredients without having to go ask someone else while also telling me the major ingredients so that I knew what I was getting. It was nice that she knew the menu so well, giving me confidence that I would be safe eating the food. I ordered the salmon with Asian slaw, spicy edamame, butter garlic corn, and pickled cucumbers. The salmon was cooked perfectly - actually the best level of cooked salmon I've had takeout. I also really liked the corn a lot so will definitely get it again. It felt really healthy while also tasting good. I will be trying their other items!

The place was very busy, which was good to see in these times. My daughters and I had the pull pork sandwiches, SG chicken salad, and some pork ribs. We had cornbread of course and sides were Mac & cheese, collard greens, pork & beans, and Cole slaw. We drinks and also had banana pudding to go. Everything was delicious the pulled pork was great and the girls added their favorite sauces. The ribs had the best smoke rings and were fall off the bone tender. They didn't need anything extra to help them. The chicken in the salad was moist and easy to cut. The salad was well balanced and delicious. The only thing I wish was on my salad was a boiled egg but that is personal preference. All the sides including the cornbread was flavorful and hit the spot with seasoning. Now it wasn't homemade but very good and worth the money for restaurant walk-in quality. The place even busy was also very clean and staff was working hard, very friendly and serviced us as soon as we walked in. The person running the from even asked for help at another register once three people were in line. Service being quality and as important as the quality of the food. A++ and 10 with two snaps in a circle. Go and enjoy.

I love me some BBQ & I love GAR group restaurants (Great American Restaurants for you non-locals…read morelol), but this one was a bit of a disappointment, unfortunately. DEETS: This is a counter-service restaurant where you place your order with a cashier, and someone brings your food to your table when it's ready. SERVICE: We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and it was not very busy at all, with maybe three tables occupied. There were several staff members behind the counter, but no one was paying attention to anything other than themselves or their phones, and they all had their backs to the entrance, oblivious. We waited & waited for someone to turn around, notice us, greet us, and be served. As for seating, we had only the option to sit at a table because all the open booths were dirty. The restrooms were not much better. After our food came out, they must have finally seen the mess because a couple of the crew members, including the chef, started cleaning up the tables. Great to finally see the place get cleaned, but the dining room should never have been in the condition it was in to begin with, especially with it so empty and the staff just standing around, oblivious, as if they had nothing to do... *sigh* & insert a big eyeroll! FOOD: Not surprisingly, the food was average because "you get what you give" and they obvi didn't give a.... We got a pulled pork and a prime brisket with coleslaw, and they were both a bit on the dry side and lacking flavor; nothing at all like the amazing pulled pork at their sister restaurants. The table had a cute wooden box holding a selection of sauces, but sadly, they all tasted pretty much the same. Surprise! lol As always, peeps, support your local small biz, and yes, I would possibly give them a second chance because I do love GAR concepts, but if I do go back, it won't be back anytime soon, or I may not go back at all and stick with my faves of their concepts that I love and know they work, i.e., Patsy's, Silverado, & Sweetwater. 5/31/26

I've never heard of this spot before, and you typically will not find me in Springfield. However, a few of us made lunch plans this past Good Friday to take advantage of the $29.99 AYCE weekday lunch pricing. We got three rounds of beef brisket (chadol), one thin & thick pork belly (samgyupsal) each, and half an order of large intestine (daechang). The chadol was a little too fatty than I'd like, but it was high quality and comparable to non-AYCE options like Meokja Meokja. I didn't love the thin samgyupsal as much, but the thick version was so meaty and juicy. The intestines were a fatty treat, and I was good with just a couple bites. We had to ask for ssamjang and sesame oil for sauces, which they were generous with giving. Our server was pretty attentive, but we thought it was weird that he cooked the thin samgyupsal and the beef brisket at the same time. As for sides, we asked for lots of them (sadly our corn cheese never came). The fermented soybean stew was strong, but a bit too salty at the end. The egg bomb was fluffy and delicious. They also have ramen (aka shin ramen) which we enjoyed by adding several pieces of chadol and letting it soak in there to get that deep meaty flavor. I enjoyed the kimchi throughout the meal, which was the perfect "not quite fresh, but still crunchy" texture. Overall, we ate to our heart's content. I definitely would be back for more chadol, thick samgypsal, and a bit of daechang in the future. The $30 pricing is a steal for the amount of food we got, but I'd hesitate to pay for the $40 dinner price. I don't eat enough at AYCE spots to get my money's worth, so I would rather spend that $40 at a non-AYCE spot for higher quality cuts like galbi and rib tips.

Easily some of the best I've had in the area in a long time, and they set the bar high going into the meal. Once we got to the meat, though, it was a little underwhelming. The all you can eat selection was limited, and a lot of the flavors leaned sweet. We were hoping for more savory, classic Korean BBQ flavors. The sauces were fine, but nothing that really stood out. If we came back, we would definitely add on the ribeye or galbi instead of sticking strictly to the all you can eat option. Service was great and attentive, and the atmosphere is solid for the Springfield area. That said, our hood vent almost came off mid grill, which definitely took away from the experience. Overall, a strong start with great banchan and service, but the BBQ itself did not quite deliver.

Initially, we thought it was a unique experience because of the restaurant's interior design, but we soon realized it was going to be uncomfortable...because heat rises and we were stuck upstairs with so many other people who seemed just as warm as us. It was excessively hot, and I found myself fanning myself with one of the menus at the table. While our server was probably trying his best, the service left much to be desired. We were eager to leave as soon as we arrived. After ordering and enjoying what we could of our meals, which were quite good, we just wanted to leave. I'm assuming they get busier the later on it gets, but the plus of showing up early is never having to worry about getting a table and service.
