(has shrimp & beef) We ordered two different beef Pho bowls but loved them! Photo is the main bowl, I believe it's A1 and I got A4. There is only one size but it's a lot of food! Broth is delicious and so is the meat. Lastly we ordered two drinks, one Honeydew Boba drink & one Taro Boba drink. Again, both super delicious!! This was my second visit, and once again I was treated poorly by an older male employee. His behavior was unprofessional from the moment he approached our table. He placed the food down carelessly, did not acknowledge me at all, and only directed his attention toward my husband. Each time he came to our table, he avoided eye contact with me and walked away mumbling under his breath. As a Black customer, it was extremely uncomfortable and concerning to experience this pattern of disrespect. After we ate at El Fogon, my brother and I were still hungry so we swung by to this cafe. It's located in Kingstowne area across from Giant and Le Madeleine. Theres limited of seating but manageable. My brother ordered the eye round steak and brisket pho; I ordered two items: the lemongrass beef vermicelli and eye round steak pho. They were all delicious and the proteins were tender and moist. The vermicelli bowl was refreshing and colorful. Our servers were distracted by technology and we had to wave both of them down for refills. The restaurant itself was clean. Did a little shopping in the area while visiting my sister and kids in town. My sister mentioned that this place has really good pho so we decided to give them a try. I have the shredded chicken pho is actually pretty good. I added my seasonings to give it a little bit more spice, had their grilled shrimp wrap was OK. They forgot to bring the summer roll but that's all right cause we were pretty full anyways I also have the thai tea with Boba tea which was creamy, but I couldn't finish it all so I to get home. Hands down my favorite pho place. The broth for all pho soups, including the vegetarian pho, is simply phenomenal. I've never had vegetarian pho taste so flavorful like meat based ones. It's a shame that this being a Pho restaurant, I've never actually tried their Pho. Instead, this is our go-to Thai tea spot. Their Thai tea has to be THE BEST we've ever had. Thick and creamy in the best way and always ready to go. I was really craving pho so I found this place and called to ask what was the latest that I can come in to order and they told me 8:45pm. I arrived at 8:33pm and when I walked in, the host/server put up a finger instead of asking how many people so I replied with 2 fingers to indicate a table for 2. Once I sat down I was never greeted. She came over to drop off water and chopsticks and walked off without saying a word so I left after being at the table for another 10 minutes. My fiancé was sick and looking for soup so I found Pho Ngon on Yelp. I was in the area and it looked like one of the best ones near Kingstowne/Van Dorn. I placed an online order for the Crispy Fried Spring Rolls, a kid size P3 (eye round, brisket, soft tendon), and a large P2 (brisket, flank, fatty brisket, soft tendon). Order took about 30 minutes around dinner time on a Thursday. Our order was ready a little earlier and it seemed a little busy inside. Nice interior, not a lot of tables though. Everything traveled well. The fried spring rolls were still crispy and of a good size. The P2 came with a large container of broth that I was able to fill the bowl almost 3 times. Nice rich flavor. Good amount of meat, noodles, and toppings. Really hit the spot for me. The P3 was a good size for my fiancé as well even at the kid's size. It'll be two meals for her. I had bowl H1 which includes pork blood curd, crab ball, pork sausage, beef brisket, soft tendon, and pork knuckle in a spicy broth with what I think was udon noodles. Pho Ngon is my go-to neighboord Vietnamese restaurant. Weekend lunch or weeknight dinner, if I want pho I'm coming here. The restaurant is tucked away next to Subway, Dairy Queen, and the UPS Store in what feels like a forgotten strip within the Kingstowne Shopping Center. The nice thing about it being hidden is that there's no fighting for parking! They can seat about 10-12 groups of people inside and there seems to be 2 people as the front of house. That doesn't limit their service though. The two folks that seat, order, handle the phone, and man the register are extremely attentive, polite, and friendly. The quality and quantity of the food is consistently good. I love their pho and enjoy mixing which meats I want- bo vien, tai, gan, gau, sach, etc. You really can't go wrong. Their crispy fried spring rolls (cha goi) come out hot and fresh, and their bun bo hue warms the soul. It's not too spicy, but can always be made hotter with the chili sauce on the table. Bottom Line: Pho Ngon is a lovely Vietnamese shop for when the pho itch needs to be scratched. read more
