The service was exceptional, even giving suggestions on what we might like based on what we ordered. For 2 adults, we ordered a plate of pork lo mein, General Tso chicken (comes with white rice), crab rangoons, and a small cup of egg drop soup. We also got two bottled drinks. In total, $40. Not bad for the DMV, you don't find that often. Our rangoons & soup came out quick and fresh. They even threw in 2 spring rolls on the house. Soon after, out entrees came out and WOW. The serving sizes were insane. You don't find portions like that anymore. I enjoyed that this restaurant didn't focus on fancy plates & bowls, and extravagant decor. We had friends over yesterday and were craving authentic Chinese food, so we ordered delivery from Great Wall. We got General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, Crab Rangoon, string beans, pan‑fried dumplings, chicken wings, and crispy beef. Everything was absolutely delicious, and everyone loved the meal! Even though the chicken wings were delivered, they still stayed perfectly crispy. The kids especially enjoyed them. All portions were very generous and satisfying. Order was for take-out. 3x orders of General Tso's Chicken, a classic on every US Chinese Restaurant menu. I also picked up a side of Crab Rangoon and Egg Drop Soup. The Chicken was really bad, if you can call it chicken. Each piece was maybe 1/8th of an ounce of chicken, wrapped in an ounce of congealed flour batter. The batter was undercooked, soggy for grease, and tasted badly. The sauce was bland. We asked for the hottest option on the menu, and it wasn't even slightly reflected in the food. The Crab Rangoons were tasty, but how do you mess that up? Same goes for the Egg Drop, it was decent. I won't stand by the equivalent of selling "chicken" wrapped in saw dust. The location of this is challenging. This part of Springfield, lots of traffic and highways close. Seriously be careful. You can usually find a parking spot here, but it can be during peak times frustrating. Go during weekdays if you can. You'll be far more relaxed. Store is pretty cool. I like the neat foods available here. Lots of snacks and meals of Asian cuisine. Am a fan. The employees are nice, and it's a clean store. Checkout can take time, and it's sometimes too popular. I used to eat here years ago, but the previous management did some not so kosher things. I gave them another shot the other day and it was good just like it always was. We got the pu ou platter as well, which was a good mix. I enjoyed it, but was too fat to take a picture before I ate it. The fried rice was a little too soy sauced for my taste, but it was good. I got egg drop soup as well, which is why I didn't give them 5 stars. The recipe was basically the same, but more watered down. So I've been going to this place for years. It was good before, but the new management has definitely made it even better. It's definitely one of the better chinese restaurants in the area! My partner usually gets their sweet & sour chicken. I'm vegetarian and have tried their general tso, schezuan, mandarin, and sesame tofu (all of which are delicious!). I also get their vegetable spring rolls (No shrimp here). I normally order delivery, and it averages about 30-45 mins. When I do get take out, the lady at the front is very welcoming and nice. I literally just got off work and found out my mother seen a police chase where a vehicle ran into the Walgreens on Silver Lake Blvd in Kingstown right? She has a cold and she still shaken up about what she saw while she was driving to go care for my grandmother. So, I think lemme cheer her up and treat her to some dinner. She offers to take my order and then when it's time to pay she mentions that they're going to close soon and asks me if I planned to tip by cash or card. It was on the spot but I said card. She asked how much. I said $2 (I don't get paid til' tomorrow it is what it is, I just wanted to make my mom feel better mind you the bill is still $37) and she say c'mon $3.. I said I tried to order online and you offered to take my order and asked you for a tip I gave you one and your pressuring me for more. Am I not allowed to order? She said ok and hung up on me! I told my mom what happened and told her I was uncomfortable about all of it. She stated that she wouldn't order from a place that made her uncomfortable. So I called back. I spoke to the same lady and said that I wanted to cancel my order. She said that it was already made. I told her that it wasn't and that she made me feel uncomfortable and that I didn't like that she hung up on me (and it slipped) that I was afraid of something being done to my food. To which, she told me to never call them again and hung up on me again. I called back and asked if I'd be refunded and she told me that I would and that she was serious never call again and hung up on me. It's almost closing time and I still haven't been refunded. I love coming to Great Wall for some quality Chinese food. I used to pass by it all the time and filed it away in my mind to try it out sometime, and when I finally did, I was not disappointed. I love coming here to pick up lunch or dinner after work at least a few times a month. The space is pretty small. There are tables for eating in, but like most places of this type, they largely thrive on take-out orders. The woman behind the counter seems a bit off-putting - I've seen reviews that say she's mean, and I disagree. She's not mean at all, just very focused on business. But she usually says goodbye with a smile, and in general they're quite friendly, and I have no complaints about their service. The food here is DELICIOUS. I used to live in Hong Kong, and this isn't quite at that level, but it's still very good, especially for a northern VA Chinese restaurant. My go-to dishes are typically the crab rangoon and General Tso's chicken, and I've never been disappointed. I've never gotten bad food from there. I've never ordered delivery, so I can't comment on that, but the takeout experience is great. Quality food and decent service. Definitely worth checking out for sure. read more

Surprisingly the peking duck is a lot better than a lot of dine in Chinese restaraunts and the price is decent for a half or full duck. Sweet and sour chicken would have been a favorable option, but I wasn't sure exactly what type of chicken would have been part of that. So it took them about five minutes to prepare my order as I sat patiently. When they finally brought it to the counter, I could smell the flavor seeping out of the bag! I was lucky I had some good Kikkoman Soy Sauce like the one they give you is do do. Also I order for three other of my friend. So it came up to for the free order general tao chicken for free over the spending of $40.00 or more. I also order the shrimp and walnuts before and it just barely passed It's the last time I order from here. Remember it's like the china town in Washington, DC.
