I have a complaint with order I drive to this carry out and I order Hunan Shrimp and Shrimp and Broccoli I waited for almost 25 minutes and when I came back to my house I noticed I had chicken and broccoli and I didn't order this dish because I only eat Seafood and vegetables due to my diet so I called the carry out and explained what they did wrong with my order and one of the kids that took my order told there mom or sister that I sad chicken and I told her I don't eat chicken so I ask them to bring me the right order to my house because they wanted me to bring it back to them so they can replace it so my wife heard me going back in fourth with them so she took the order,the shrimp and broccoli was for my wife something had told me to check the order before I left just because I was told in the past that this place will get your order wrong also the Hunan Shrimp taste bland wasn't flavorful ,I will not visit this place ever . read more

I was on the hunt for a place to get some dinner during one of the recent snow storms and stumbled across this place. This was one of the few places that were open. This restaurant offers carryout, delivery and limited dine-in. This is your typical Chinese food carryout joint. It is located in a small strip mall and has an adequate amount of parking available. There are a couple of tables with chairs available in the restaurant that you can sit and wait or dine at. They serve your typical Chinese food including sweet and sour chicken, pepper steak, moo goo gai pan, shrimp lo mein, orange chicken, and egg foo young. I ordered the General Tso's chicken, which I substituted the rice with lo mein noddles and it came with an egg roll. I was surprised, but it did not come with a fortune cookie. The staff was friendly enough. My interaction with them was very limited. It took between 5 and 10 minutes for them to prepare my meal and I took it to go. There was a ton of food. I did not finish it in one sitting. My meal was pretty good. It tasted well and I enjoyed it. I would definitely eat here again. read more

It's funny that this restaurant is on Bland Street because that's exactly how I felt my food was. I should've taken a picture of my food but I was so hungry I had to start eating it. I called in a lunch order for general tso's chicken lunch special with steamed white rice and it came with an egg roll. First issue I really have is with the rice, which is quite surprising as this is a Chinese food restaurant so the rice shouldn't be a complaint at all, but it was so soggy and not appetizing to me at all. The actual chicken was also a little soft but the sauce was really good not too spicy or too sweet. I was kind of disappointed because the pictures online shoe broccoli accompanying the food but there was no broccoli and I was looking forward to that the most. I've been going to Ding How for 10+ years, they have changed hands but continue to make great food. Don't trust your food to the delivery services, I've always gone there to pick up my food. The current owners are a family and take pride in what they do! I love the Won-Ton Soup and order it by the quart. The pork fried rice and fried dumplings are my favorites! If I feel like spoiling myself I'll order Mrs.Tso's which is all white meat chicken or Lemon chicken covered in a lemon sauce. I've never had any issues with food quality and or service. They used to have hot tea for people when they walked in out of the cold. When it snowed a few years back they were open. I was in Springfield to play pool at Hard Times Cafe, but I couldn't do so on an empty stomach. I saw a Baskin Robbins and since my parents weren't around, I decided to have dessert before dinner. While heading towards the Baskin Robbins, I saw Ding How and suddenly I was craving Chinese food. I walked in and the place smelled really good, always a positive sign. However, this pleasant smell was drowned out by the loud noise coming from the children of the owners. They were crying and complaining at the top of their voices. This is very unprofessional for a restaurant. This is a workplace and is not a place for taking care of children. The menu looked great and had some nice options. I was deciding between the House special rice noodles (with chicken, beef, and shrimp) and the Singapore rice noodles (spicy curry with pork and shrimp). I wanted to replace the pork of the Singapore noodles with beef and the girl at the register said that would be an extra $2.50 due to the more expensive nature of beef. If you look at the menu, nowhere is beef that much more expensive than pork. I was not happy that she tried to swindle me like that. I ended up buying the House special noodles instead. Although the service wasn't great, the food was amazing. I absolutely loved the texture of the rice noodles and the combination of the meats. The meat was chewy and flavorful as well. Since my review, if I go here I only get their pork fried rice, egg drop soup or egg rolls. I got chicken lomein and it tasted like seafood. It made me feel so sick. Didn't taste like actual chicken at all. The noodles themselves are a bit slimy in texture. My own cats wouldn't even eat the chicken. I had a hankering for some beef and broccoli Chinese food, and I decided to come to this restaurant because I was in the neighborhood. The price for the normal order was around $11.00 and that price is pretty much in line with other Chinese restaurants. I would consider this place more of a traditional Chinese carry out establishment. It's no frills, nothing spectacular, and not really smiling employees here so happy to serve their customers. It is what it is, and to me the quality of the food is what is important. Quality is what they delivered. It took them about five minutes to prepare my order which is what I had expected. I have been eating Ding How since the early 90s. I agree with everyone that this Chinese carryout makes very good food. Very consistent. The reason why I gave it 2 stars and felt the need to take my time to write this review is to address the dishonesty that has been going on for the past year and continues to exist. Like everyone else, when I'm hungry, I just called and order my food. Drive there and pick the food up and pay and that's that. I am very consistent in that I order basically 98% of the time the same thing again and again. After about 5 months into going there (very heavily like every 3 days), I started noticing that the amount they charge me on my credit card (from ordering the same thing consistently 3 or 4 times in a row) are never the same. Sometimes it is 5 cents more. Sometimes it is 10 cents more. So I took out my calculator and calculate exactly how much the food cost with tax and found out that they have been overcharging me (from my record of credit card transactions) all these times. I confronted the owner's daughters (who work (and study there) as cashiers) in one instant and caught her red handed overcharging me. I asked her why and the girl couldn't answer me. They were embarrassed. I guess they needed additional money or something. Therefore, from that point on, I verify the amount before I go to pick up the food at their carryout AND give them $1 tip almost every time I placed the order. This evening, yet again, one of the daughter over charged me by 2 cents. It might sound cheap on my part to complain about these petty overcharges but let me ask your guys this: If they over charge everyone by 5 or 10 cents and they have 100 or 200 customers per day everyday, how much money is that? I do not like dishonesty. If they want to charge for containers or other things then MAKE IT CLEAR that they are doing that. This is my first and LAST time ordering from this place. I ordered the Sha Cha Chicken and it tasted and smelled like straight up seafood. The bowl was full of veggies and a few bit-sized pieces of chicken. There was no seafood in it, nor did the menu mention seafood tasting sauce. I called them to let them know that my daughter has a seafood allergy and that I wanted a refund. During this conversation they talked about how the seafood taste and smell was coming from the sauce. There was no indication or disclaimer of seafood being present in the dish. So for the smell to be so pungent, its a problem. After hearing management discussing loudly on the phone about what to do about our situation, for well over five minutes, the phone disconnected. I called back to make sure the line did not drop. Just to be forwarded to their voicemail system after two rings. So it appears that they deliberately didn't answer my call TWICE. I would give them a zero but since i can't, SADLY here is the 1 star. Ordered takeout around 9:15pm online. The restaurant closes at 10pm. I waited until about 9:40pm for a call, and when I didn't receive one, I called them. The lady said my food was ready, but I don't understand why they didn't notify me (I specified to call). When I got there, it was 9:59pm, and all the lights were off except one, and the family who owns that place were all waiting for me to show up.
