Pretty sure these were the best breakfast tacos I've ever had. You know how you have a thought of what you want to eat, then smell something else and completely change? I was driving with the windows down and caught the BBQ smell and immediately knew I had to have it so I turned around. Only problem was, I couldn't find the place. there's no huge BBQ pit out front, just amazing smells (look for the wood pile). After finding it and parking, I entered the regular looking door and found that it's mainly a catering operation that allows you to call in or order there and takeout orders. I got three brisket breakfast tacos. As weird as it sounds, when I opened the container, the tacos were beautiful. Like...the presentation was on point. Maybe I was just hungry. But they were amazing. From the pico, to the potatoes, to the brisket, then adding the sauce on top, it was so good. This place is definitely worth your time, give them a visit.

We have been getting pickup from Old Blue for over a year now, and we don't go anywhere else for BBQ. It is hands-down the best. You can't sit here like a restaurant because it's a pickup location only, but it is so worth it. Everyone is so nice. They're prompt with preparing the food. We've never had a bad experience. Some of the best BBQ in the area!

The first time I have had a brisket egg roll and they did not disappoint. The egg rolls were stuffed and perfectly crispy. The flavor was on point. Will make sure to try some other menu items from Old Blue bbq.

Came here for lunch. Was a little difficult to find, it is in a warehouse type building, nothing I associate a restaurant being located. Very small entrance with no dine in service. Friendly staff will take your order to go. I had the pulled pork with the sweet st Louis bbq sauce and fries. The pulled pork was good especially the bbq sauce. French fries come salt and with pepper which was nice. I would come here again but not convenient if you are just passing through.

PHENOMENAL!!! The food is aahhhmazing. Every SINGLE Bite! They catered my church luncheon today and I had 2 plates. If you know me...you know I don't eat that much, but every item was amazing. The silverware is "super fancy plastic" in my church sister's voice. Just beautiful!

Really good BBQ spot! Stopped by here a couple weeks ago to check it out due to all the good reviews. Spot is located in an industrial area off Eisenhower Ave. in Alexandria, not too far from Eisenhower Ave. Capital Beltway exit. The entrance is in the back of an industrial park so might be slightly hard to find. Went on a Sunday morning around noon after church. First thing I noticed is there's no sit-down area or even a counter to order. It seems this business is primarily a catering/large order service, though they do take smaller, individual take-out orders as was my intention. There was no one at the front greeting customers as you come in - in the front they have some QR instructions on how to order via their Square website which seemed kind of impersonal, but whatever. After a couple of minutes of navigating their menu online someone from the back did eventually come out to take my order. I ordered their "Two + Two" option ($18), which was any two meats and any two sides. I got the sliced brisket and pulled pork, along with two orders of mac and cheese. The meal comes with two complimentary sauces, though they gave me a 3rd one to try for free, which was nice. (Not recalling the sauces I ordered, though I asked for the spiciest ones.) Order came out in 4-5 minutes, which I took back home since the spot doesn't have seating. The food itself was fantastic, especially the brisket and mac and cheese (though the pulled chicken was pretty good as well). Very tasty and larger-portioned than most BBQ spots that I'm used to. I'd put this spot right up there with any in NOVA in terms of food quality, and it might even be the best within 15 minutes or so of D.C. If I was grading based just on food quality, I would give this place 5 stars. But just given the lack of sit-down options that nearly all other similar BBQ spots have and the lack of a front-facing counter to order, feel like I have to downgrade slightly to 4 stars, sorry! The lady who eventually came out to take my order was very pleasant though. Noticed all the cooks and the manager were latina/latino, which was cool, though not something I've seen often at local BBQ spots. This spot is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for takeout. Overall the food was great and I'll definitely be back again multiple times to check out the other food options!

I just visited this location looking for tasty barbecue. I opted for a platter thinking this the three meat platter would be an enough food for lunch. Wow, this is what I received after shelling out $45! It's so unfortunate that my meal was very expensive for what I received and if this "norm" for them, be sure to ask the right questions before making your decision. Overall taste was decent, but very bland and fatty

Service was fantastic and the brisket chili was absolutely incredible. The chili is just slightly spicy enough to be perfect. There's huge chunks of brisket in the recipe; they don't cut it with hamburger and other stuff it's just pure brisket. The manager was so incredible and nice. She engages with you and asks to all kinds of things so she knows what you want. What an experience this was when in the Union market

The mango and strawberry lassis were especially memorable--refreshing, creamy, and the perfect complement to the meal. We had a large crowd and a limited budget. Betsy was fantastic and worked within our budget to construct a menu that worked for us. She also had a lot of good foods to choose from. Additionally, we made a few suggestions that were not on the menu and she gladly obliged! The food was GREAT and our guests enjoyed everything! Because our budget was limited, we were only able to order so much so cut it close with the number of people we had. Fewer people ended up coming than planned, so we ended up having the perfect amount. The wings and meatballs were great! Betsy set everything up for us and displayed everything very well. The holiday punch she made for us was also quite the hit! Thanks VERY much, Betsy! We will definitely work with you again if the occasion arises!

The company was recommended by the funeral home that we used for the funeral service. Horrible customer service; just her and a young man working the event. Event booked for 40 persons, only about 20 persons showed up. So, there was quite a bit of food left over. Before the family could get seconds or make a decision about what to do with the extra food, the employees at the funeral home lined up in front of family members, some of them, without even an expression of condolence. It appeared to be a regular arrangement with the Hebron Marks, as she mentioned to several employees, she did not make their special food this time. When the family mentioned this to her and some food service issues, she got upset and said no one had EVER had a problem with those arrangements. Maybe we wouldn't have either if it had been more discrete. It became a big thing. She got angry and removed the fruit platter she had provided as a complimentary item, returned it to the kitchen. When asked her about it she said, "It is mine"! Total lack of professionalism! You would think that the owner would be more mindful of the reason for the event and try to exercise more decorum and tact. Being rude to grieving family members, is not cool. As a side note, the food started out being very tasty but by the time the event was over, given the really bad vibes by the company, the food left a bad taste in my mouth. The family members all agreed! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Working with Jennifer Tye and the team at dcTaste was seamless. JT read my mind - from the smallest of details to the menu to the ceremony and reception set up - she captured exactly what I wanted. She was much much more than just my caterer. She coordinated with other vendors, helped secure items that fit with our vintage, farm table feel, and pulled together a table setting that was spectacular. The dcTaste team turned the blank canvass of Eastern Market's North Hall into something that would blow the minds of Pinterest followers! Oh....and then there was the food...the fabulous food! More on that in a minute... We had shopped around for other caterers (all uninspiring) before finding dcTaste through a friend. I was so impressed with JT from the get-go - before we ever talked menu - her pricing was incredibly reasonable compared to other caterers in the area and her approach to helping us with event planning perfectly fit my Type A personality.Beyond her incredible talent as a chef, she was mindful of costs and helped advise me on what was worth the splurge and what was an unnecessary expense. JT and I met in person several times to talk through themes/layout/menus, etc. She was very prompt in responding to my many questions by phone and email as well. Every time we spoke, I felt like I was her number one priority and that she was truly invested in making my wedding as fabulous as possible. Through dcTaste, we also had a day-of coordinator who was fully briefed on the theme and vision for the day and worked to ensure I had nothing to worry about. Elizabeth was so thoughtful - she understood that the details matter. She went above and beyond surprising us with added décor that fit perfectly with our theme. She even turned the ladies bathroom at Eastern Market (used by the masses on an average weekend) into a spa quality ladies lounge! I got so many compliments from wedding guests about the ladies room!! The staff at our event were the friendliest and most responsive team I've ever encountered. They seemed happy to be part of our event and greeted our guests with such hospitality. At the end of the night, they took everything down, helped my family load things up and made sure everything was cleaned up as required. Working with dcTaste took the stress out of wedding planning - they ensured that our day was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. Back to the food - best fall menu ever! For cocktail hour, we had passed appetizers that included BBQ pulled pork in tiny mason jars with coleslaw and baked beans on top - so creative and delicious. We also passed mini grilled cheese sandwiches with a tomato soup shooter, bruschetta, and goat cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon. For dinner we started with butternut squash soup with a dab of pumpkin butter followed by 13-hour braised short ribs with mélange of fall vegetables and the best cauliflower puree one has ever eaten. For dessert we wanted a pie table - blueberry, sour cherry, pecan, apple and (our favorite) key lime. We also had red velvet wedding cake but the pies were the big hit! Remarks we heard from our wedding guests specific to the menu: "This meal is amazing; I would order it again if this was a restaurant." "Best food I've ever had at a wedding." "BBQ in a mason jar appetizer was so creative and sooo tasty." "Grilled cheese and tomato soup shooter - perfect for a fall night." "Short ribs were just like my mom's - so good." "The pies!! We should have started with the pies!!" "The key lime pie was so good I wanted to plant my face in it." For any event, with great confidence I strongly recommend Jennifer Tye and dcTaste. I can't wait to work with them again!
